I just took mine up for the first flight today! It was a great and capable plane. Feels amazing as a slower flyer but handled extremely well in 22mph winds too and has some punch. I used a AS620 without safe and managed to make a safe flight and landing. My father and I stopped by the Flight Test field, got to meet some of the crew and picked up a Beaver several years ago. I was excited to see it fly!

You know Joseph "Jody" Hudson has got to have a Widgeon! If you don't have a Goose, I need the Widgeon. It's bigger than the current micros and looks great. Lots of us want a GA plane, and the Goose in particular, but for now I'd settle for a Widgeon. Oh, my OrangeRx tx10i took a dive, so while it gets processed I got a DX8 from you guys because I am running dsmx(except for the 1 Turnigy I found and flew yesterday. Got it from Charlotte overnight!!! Thank you!!! Already set up my Scout, the Baby Blender I am getting, and the Buffalo I got new cheap. Built her today and set her up. Everything I have needed during this mess came from you, expedited, and got here rapido. (Except for the props that ended up not in stock.Beggars can't be choosers) Be well and stay safe to all of you and your families!

I was hoping to bring it to Edgewater for its maiden, but since I'm now planning to stay on my half acre through October (I'm 85 with bad asthma, no personal contact for me.) I'm afraid I'm going to figure it all out for myself. I'm hoping when the time comes this video will walk me through it with no problems.
I have this plane. I installed a full size spectrum receiver I had laying around. I’m running a 600mAh battery and everything fits fine. I like how even tough it’s a micro it’s put together like a larger aircraft. I fly mine off off my local lake and it’s so much fun. Very stable, easy to take off and land on calm water. Buy this plane, you won’t regret it if you are into small planes. I am hoping the Widgeon comes out soon....any estimate on release date?
@@Jebusisblatantidolatry I’m using the AR620 park flyer receiver I bought off of Amazon for $39.00 although I believe the price has since increased like everything RC related. I mounted it to the side of the fuselage under the wings. My plane is still flying....
@@FliteTestTech well I needed a new set of landing gear as many landings on my rough Field finally took its toll. The landing gear have foam fairings on them and are delicate. I ordered two pairs and Flite Test packed them in an envelope instead of a small box so of course they were crushed, smashed, and broke during shipping. Should have been common sense to pack small, foam parts in a small box so they can survive shipping. I contacted Flite test to tell them what happened and thought they would simply drop replacement gear into the mail, hopefully in a box this time. But no, it turned into a big ordeal. They demanded photo proof over a $4.00 part, I guess even though I have spent a few hundred dollars with them they thought I was trying to rip them off for $4.00. (They said it was for training purposes) My phone was recently stolen so it wasn’t convenient to take and send photos. I would have to dig out my old digital camera, upload photos to my PC and attach to an email, not worth the trouble for $4.00. They absolutely refused to send me the part I needed to get their plane back in the air so I finally told them I was returning the part for a refund. They would rather refund my $4.00 and lose a customer than send out the part to get their customer back in the air. This is very short sited business practice as they saved themselves a few bucks by refusing to replace the part they poorly packed but lost a customer who has spend thousands on the hobby over the last couple of decades and had already spent a few hundred with them. Of course I will never spend another penny with them as the customer service is atrocious, they left me with one of their products that is now unusable because they refused to send the replacement part. I have been spreading the word of my experience in as many places, (forums, club, youtube, etc.) as I can think of to warn people. Buyer beware.

My question is whether you’d power an fpv cam/tx with a separate 1s battery and have additional weight or with a servo connector to the receiver but maybe less flight time?

Hi Josh - I bought the FT DHC - 2 Beaver and the motor won't work. The ailerons, elevator and rudder work. I even bought another receiver but still no good. Could the motor be defective? I use a Spektrum DX8. Any suggestions?

Love the Beaver and what you guys do... but this particular model looks 'wrong'. The nose is shaped like the classic 'wasp jr' motor version (which is the best IMO), but long like the 'turbo' version... kinda messes with my brain. (I flew in Beavers in Alaska as a kid, just the sound of that radial engine brings me to tears).
Thanks for this product. I enjoy every flight moment with mine. I've added slats, 3 blade prop, and a nitro engine.
