Thanks for the reaction. Loved Dimash's version the best. Though I do think Marcelito did a great job as well. To me, he sounded the most like the original by Celine Dion.
That lady was one of the survivors of the Titanic. That's the theme song to the movie Titanic and it was sort of a tribute to her.
It isn't a matter of the video itself. Dimash was without comparison. Marcelito just sang it straight without any fluctuation in tone. Dimash put so much passion and variety into the song. The dancers were not even necessary. I paid no attention to them really. No bias, as you said, but no one at this time can compare to Dimash. Marcelito does not have the vocal range or the ability to go from one octave to another and at the same time change genres so flawlessly. Alright. Who's next? You should check out Dimash on "Singer 2017. It was his introduction to the world and was only 22, and the others were 12-39 years his senior. He was invited as the first foreigner and the youngest performer in the show's history. He was also the only non-professional singer. The show was in China and Dimash only spoke Kazakh and Russian. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin. His English improved with each English song he sang. He won the first two rounds, should have been four. He did not win first place in the show because he was the first foreigner and they had to save face. The winner was a favored and beloved 51-year-old female singer named Sandy Lam. She had a very nice voice, but, even some of the other Chinese singers were better than her...in my humble opinion. I watched the entire season and I did enjoy it. I hope from that show you will react to Adagio, All By Myself, Unforgettable Day, Autumn Strong, and Confessa/ Diva Dance. You are right that it is not known for what purpose this comparison was made. Art is art. Everyone has their own taste. Everyone perceives art differently. I love Dimash because he creates his own world in music. Marcelito should be respected because he copies the song faithfully, and that's what a lot of people expect. They do not like changes and innovations, everything must be exactly the same as in the original. And this is their taste, their perception of art. That's why I don't like comparisons, because in art everyone will find something for themselves. Since I believe that art should be developed, I see no point in singing a song identical to the original. For me this defeats the purpose, but only for me. As I wrote, everyone has their own approach. If I like and appreciate the original, I only listen to the original, then identical performances by other artists are simply copies. If I like and appreciate a new perspective and a new interpretation of a piece, I listen to new interpretations and appreciate the new approach.
I'm Filipino but if we compare these two Marcelito is behind Dimash. Marcelito never had music education.. Dimash was taught and studied music at a very young age. His technical skills is way beyond Marcelito. Marcelito on the other hand has skills and talents thats also above any others. They shouldn't be compared. These are two different artists and are both excelling on their own.

I love Marcelito. I think Dimash yells and shouts too much. Marcelito hasn’t had any training. Dimash has been trained as a child. If Marcelito had his training and huge productions like Dimash, he would soar. He has had to work hard to promote himself through you tube and hasn’t had the support of a family to help him. I am so proud of Marcelito who came from nothing. He has recently been signed by a production company in Europe and have produced a show called 😂 12:15 THE ULTIMATE SHOW where Marcelito is the main act. They are taking it worldwide.
