@@PetroHead I read that it supposed to tell you how many miles to empty once the fuel light comes on... but being from Australia, when you sometimes have more than 40 miles to the nearest station... it becomes a big issue, and it’s such a shame for me, cuz other than that, it’s an amazing bike. Speedometer is obligatory :) that is what you had in the scrambler version you rode. About the torque steer... it is much more felt on these BMWs: the motorcycle twists to the right not because of the torque alone, but because the engine rotates along the central axle of the motorcycle due to the boxer configuration. inside the regular engines the cilinders move up and down, and the engine rotates perpendicular to the motorcycle central axle, that is why it is so noticeable on this or the r18

I bought my RnineT in 2016 and I sold it because 1)I started law school 2) it lacked cruise control. However, it was one of the best handling bikes I’ve ever ridden. It’s always stable in the corners due to the low center of gravity from the engine. I covered 18k miles in a year but then felt battered due to not having cruise control lol. I am thinking of buying it again now since it comes with cruise stock. That says a lot since I’ve never had the same bike twice and at 31 I’ve had over 10 different motorcycles.

I have had the fortune of owning the 2021 BMW R NineT for a few months, and to your point of the ride modes, it is a lot to do with traction control and ABS. Ideally, you can feel the difference on slower speeds by the way the throttle response changes on lower gears. On the freeway, it's fairly insignificant.

Hello Jacob,I made a 24h straight trial with the scrambler. In short I can tell you that the seating position ( sadlle) is not for a long usage or long distances as become uncomfortable for the driver, is only the minus that I can report. In overall scrambler was very good and I’m waiting to make the same with this reviewed model to see the differences. I’m sorry for my English !

I have the standard R Nine T and with the addition of a Ventura pack rack and a dry bag it does just fine and I tour/camp all over New Zealand with this setup. The speed limit is low over here so the lack of a screen isn’t an issue, and for me anyway, the seat is comfortable for a couple of hours before the dreaded numb bum sets in and its coffee stop time.

I have ridden a lot of road motorcycles in my time, The RNineT is among the most well mannered easy handling and powerful bikes I have ever thrown a leg over. It is pretty forgiving of rookie errors, but needs full concentration at speed. No obvious design faults (no fuel gauge is a minor irritant only) and a joy to ride in any conditions.

Taste is rather personal but for me Thruxton R (with the fairing) > RnineT Racer (discontinued) > T. Speed Twin > RnineT (this specific model)... even more if you factor in the price. THis model of the nineT is the top of the line that is even pricier that the THruxton RS here in PT... You tried the nineT Scrambler . Yamaha's 900 engine is too bonkers and you spend half your time being afraid of it :)... There is also the Kawasaki Z900RS that is more... blandish?!? but with spectacular fit and finish a true gentleman's bike. Did you feel the heat from the engine up your legs?

I feel like this is personal preference. I don’t mind the buffeting at all myself. Was just up around 160kph and I didn’t find it too much for me. But I’m a naked bike fan and used to it.

I know on my cb1000r modes in sport it's full power all gear road 1,2 less power and rain 1,2,3 less power. Hard to tell if you don't have long with the bike.
