So this song is about losing someone, and not just anyone, but like THAT person. The guy playing the piano wrote the song. The video is in his perspective, she has died and she’s a ghost just lingering. That’s why she’s wearing white, bandaged up, and her feet never touch the ground at all. He looks to be in a suit like he just came from a funeral… Her earthly self is gone but her spirit is everywhere to him, thus the title “My Immortal”

I LOVE this group! When I first heard them I wasn't sure what genre they fell in, and then I was surprised to hear that they are a Christian Goth group. I didn't know that existed, but I'm glad it does.
ı never heard that they were called christian goth group...ı dont think they are goth...not even close...they have some songs that has dark themes but that doesnt make them goth...
@@ozzieozzie7439 that's just what I heard. It sounds crazy to me. I do know that two of Amy's siblings died and it was after her 3 yr old sister died she decided that she was going to be famous. To me it sounds like My Immortal is about her.
They are a very specific genre termed Goth Rock that really peaked in popularity in the early 2000s.
Most of their members are in fact Christians though they vehemently deny being a “Christian band” when asked.
It always brings to mind a quote by C.S. Lewis “We don’t need more Christian writers, we need more writers who are Christians” (I may be paraphrasing a bit, it’s been a while since I’ve read the actual quote)
