Thanks I've been having the same problem on my 2013 Genesis. I knew it was the canister and tank ventilation but couldn't locate it on my car your vide helped a lot. Big thanks.

Awesome. Thanks for the video. I have a 2013 Genesis 5.0. Hopefully I can take off the purge valve solenoid without removing the canister assembly. Thanks

I’ve been avoiding this process of replacing the canister assembly because a mechanic shop told me the fuel tank has the be dropped to do it. Your well done video is verification that is not the case. Probably would have charged 2-3 more hours labor then replaced it your way. Looking forward to doing this on my Genesis soon and saving a few hundred dollars. 👍

I have a 2012 Hyundai equus that had been acting up. It got so bad itc wouldn't start. Changed this for less than 70 bucks and did it on my own. Mechanic was going to charge me 80 bucks for labor.

Would this cause bad gas mileage? I had a half a tank and it’s sucking so much gas. Thoughts?

Not sure if you still monitor the comments here, but I'm having the same issue at the pump and (as of today) getting an error code that my EVAP system vent valve is stuck closed.
It seems like this is a common problem with the Genesis. So, when you ordered the parts used, how did you know it wouldn't have the same issue you were having already? Or is that just a risk you were willing to take?

Yes you're right. I took a chance ordering used. The problem is that the charcoal in the canister swells up gets clogged when gas gets in there from topping off. The used canister was sold as "like new" so I assumed that the genesis was totaled and the canister likely good. It also a good refund policy

      Does this issue cause p0456?

Hi, I have a 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 sedan and everytime I put in gas my car won’t start right away so I have to keep pressing the start button about 10 times then it starts. So I replace the CANISTER PURGE VALVE but where the engine is located on top of the engine hopefully it will fix the problem I have about a half of tank of gas left and waiting to fill up to see if I fix the problem. Finger cross. If not it as to be in the trunk my problem.

Check your position sensor, unless it’s only when you put gas in

Try changing the mass air flow sensor

I have 09 Genesis v8 that would randomly not start after turning the car off. I change the crank shaft position sensor located on transmission bell housing on drivers side. That fixed that issue. Today my CEL come on with code PO455 which is why I’m researching possible fix.

I'm really curious about just removing the fuel filter.
