  • An important element in calculating an accurate firing solution for long-range shooting is understanding the effects of atmospherics on a projectile. Bryan Litz, ballistician for Berger Bullets and Applied Ballistics explains.

What do you think about how can hit a target with out digital device information?!

Bryan- Frank Galli says your numbers are WRONG. He says he doesn’t care what you say. Listen to him say it himself on his podcast “The everyday sniper” episode 48 at the 30:27 mark. Why would I spend $500 for a product that gives me wrong information?

What is Frank trying to sell?

Not hitting where aimed at Long Range assuming the shooter points the rifle with consistent sight alignment and pulls the trigger utilizing smooth trigger control is about a correct wind counter. A Kestrel is not as effective as a reading of effects and mirage at mid range and then a quick application of MOA wind constant formula. Frank is suspect to having a good understanding of it all. If he did he would have some credentials in NRA Long Range Competition and he does not.

This is way too confusing to me and way over thinking...I make sure my rifle is tactically zeroed for 100 yds and thats it.

    Define "long range shooting." 500+, 800+, 1000+?

Long Range matches in the US usually begin at 600m.

@@altruisticscoundrel So, at 600 or less, you probably don't need all of these fancy shooting tools? I never had fancy shooting tools when I was in the Army Infantry. (1987-1998) "Kentucky Windage!" LOL

Mine are usually 4,000 to 3,000
Or even 6 to 8 thousand yards if I'm in a tank normally just depends on the shell
Usually in Marines I go at my own range of shooting I like it Long ways
Slow and steady wins the race
Normally I like to go farther then the enemie could ever predict like around 5,000 to 4,500 so thermal is not revealing me
The rifle I start as a militia is a 20mm azio amarican made sniper rifle the thing is speed is an option and usually when I shoot it would take forever to find me because gunshot detectors only go out around 4 throughout the time 3 thousand yards of detecting me
My bipod is a specialy inovitated
The the bipod is a micro movement aiming knobs
Think of a microscope when u look through a microscope u use knobs to look around same with this bipod I use knobs to aim without a single grain of scope sway
Giving a better shot on my target and keeping the crosshair on enemies line
I could go 5,000 with azio rifle but It would take a bit of math along the shot this is why I like spacific ballistics calculator
