    Very nice house that TSA guy has. Looks a bit pricy on a TSA employee's salary. This guy must have been "supplementing" his income with thefts from airline passengers for years.

    When I was younger, they stole my playdough and said it was plastic explosive and that a baby was carrying a bomb and they brought in sniffer dogs before we proved it was playdough and completely harmless but they took it any way and threw it in the trash. That's why I wish itchy bones and lifelong bad luck to that horrid woman who made a toddler cry

    Always leave your electronics bagged up (I carry several very large zip lock bags for that whenever I travel). Also any items of clothing (belts, purses, small electronics, wallets, and other small items are best stored in the carry on luggage or a large zip lock bag. There are bags which use a tab to close the bag easily but if the tab is removed the bag is much harder to open. As we all know, theft can not always be stopped but the thief can be delayed and thieves know when a delay is making the theft not interesting enough to attempt.
    Don't let any officer trick you into unpacking any electronics or other items, in most cases this is done to be able to leave options open for any bad officers do something they are not supposed to. It is simply not mandatory to unpack anything from your luggage or bags. The roentgen machine is capable of looking through any bags, clothing or packaging and if any doubts arise they can always do a manual search. The main goal is to not have people get any bright ideas with your stuff according to the principle of "what is not in clear view is unlikely to be wanted and will most likely not be stolen"
    Whatever you do stay with the tray while in the cue. If the tray is about to move faster on the conveyor then you as part of the cue, take the tray off the conveyor belt and hold it or let it rest on the os the conveyor belt housing until you are right in front of the roentgen machine at which point you put the tray back on the conveyor for it can be scanned... If there is no room to place the tray, ask an officer to assist you to do so. It is there job to help passengers and to scan luggage. The idea is for you to be able to keep an eye on the tray with your belongings at all times.
    If you are travelling with somebody else, have the second person lag behind (maybe 2-3 persons) so you and the other person can watch both your belongings while in the cue or at the reclaim area, making sure there is at least one pair of eyes on your belongings at any time.
    If an officer asks you to unpack your laptop or iPad, simply state you will be happy to unpack it at the reclaim area of the scanning station and invite/encourage him/her to do a manual search at that time. If the officer insists, immediately demand a supervisor present.
    If you are called to the side for a manual search or a pad down before you can reclaim ALL your belongings, state you will be happy to comply but your policy is to get ALL your belongings first at the reclaim area. If your tray contains just 1 carry-on bag and maybe a large ziplock bag that can be easily done before any officer can stop you without causing a disturbance (which is very likely to rub off on him/her in a badly) If the officer insists you come to him/her NOW and stops/blocks you, insist you get your belongings first not taking your eyes off your belongings and demand a supervisor present. Don't except any tactics to get you separated or out of view from your belongings.
    It is even in most (if not all) airport regulations that you are not allowed to leave any item of baggage or luggage unattended... leaving belongings on the conveyor belt while being pad down, can be viewed as leaving luggage unattended...
    Never imply the officer(s) may be dishonest or planning something but you can let them know your behaviour is designed to prevent anybody getting tempted to be engaging in wrongdoing.
    And remember: cops, tsa officers, customs officers, border control agents or any other government employee are NOT your friend, there job is to find wrong doing and sometimes they will try to create wrongdoing themselves... they work for us civilians and sometimes they need to be reminded of that.

    No one at any time ever said it was "turned off", And, if you were as smart as you "think" you are, you would know that the app "Find My iPhone" once installed will locate your iPhone, iPad and iPod wherever it happens to be once it hits a WiFi tower, or, a 3G signal if it happens to be a WiFi + 3G unit. So, your argument is pointless.

    Some people argue that the TSA protects travelers from potential terrorist attacks, creates jobs, and good for our country. But I think we are better off without the TSA...another government agency that costs so much to maintain but doesn't add value. If someone intelligent enough wanted to do harm they will find a way to do so. I would prefer to take my chances and go back to pre-TSA days of traveling!

    How? If you find an iPad or iPhone what have you, simply go into the settings and factory reset. Easy as that. In my original comment that's exactly what I was reffering to. If the TSA in this case would have reset the device, it would have erased the app and in turn he wouldn't have been easily tracked by the reporter.

  • @mannyb332211
    @mannyb332211 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok and your point is? I was NEVER arguing that once the device has been reset it would be "useful" to someone else. I was simply arguing the fact that any found device CAN be reset (erase previous ownwes contents and tracking app) by anyone no matter what, which you argued against but it is possible so I won the argument. And you say I'm making things up as I go along? Even killcows897 told you to stop. You got owned bud.

    Sorry I just saw you that you responded. I'm not saying Israel's security is bad. I would move to their system. But I was just saying people would complain because of the profiling. They do great background checks with everybody against multiple databases. But they will also profile by looks and accents. They take every measurement to ensure safety but they do profile by looks.
