Great shooting brother!! Where i live in pennsylvania we do not have to shoot that far as a matter of fact most of my shots are 100yds and under. You are so right about putting another round in the bear if you have the chance because we have tracked wounded bears for miles and sometimes you lose the trail because of how their fat plugs the entrance and exit. I also loved your gender reference. If you have 2 balls and a bat you are a male and if you don't you are a female period!
Thanks Jason, glad you liked the video. Bears are super tough animals and we owe it to them to make sure their death is as quick and painless as possible. Good luck out there this season!
We owe it too the game we hunt to not be hunting long range! Not only does it show disrespect to the game but just gives the anti hunting people one more reason to dislike hunting! Just my 60+ years hunting 2 cents! Love hunting! Don’t love people who have no regard for the game or others who do love hunting!
Although I don’t agree with your opinion I respect it but I will say they don’t need anymore reason too hate us they just need ways to exploit us like seeing division amongst us and use that against us. they wouldn’t understand traditional ways of hunting to ways of today. What they do know is how to use things we disagree with against us. It’s better to voice your opinion man to man if it’s truly something you see that needs to change.
To each their own. In some of these areas, there is no way to get closer to an “ethical” range. Sometimes when you see something, you only have minutes until it disappears again…
The goal is always to get as close as possible. Not all situations allow for that. We are hunting an area with the highest predator density in Montana and our deer and elk herd has suffered tremendously by the teeth and claws of grizzly, black bears, coyotes, mountain lions and wolves. Our primary focus when hunting bears is to remove predators from the country we like to hunt deer and elk, sometimes that means at extended range. We have capable equipment and we train to make shots like this possible in the off-season. Although you don’t agree with long range hunting, I would venture to guess more game is wounded at close range by untrained individuals with low quality equipment than an trained marksman behind a custom rig. The only thing we owe a predator is a well placed round behind the shoulder. Good luck hunting out there and thanks for watching.
