@@paulchika4121 you're missing the point. This new arsenal team are as successful as pochs Tottenham and no one looks back at that time like its a good thing.
The big thing with Arteta is also that he knew and already loved the club he took over. And, he also knew the difficulty of the situation he was coming into. In comparison, bin Ange is sulking a bit, because, when some Spurs fans wanted them to lose to City last season, he realised what he has got himself into. Similarly to Conte. I'll still give Ange the benefit of the doubt as people can actually learn quickly. But yeah, it seems to be a pattern there and it would be cool to see in some sort of a parallel reality whether Arteta could turn that around at Spurs. The environment and the culture from top to bottom are huge for talented people to properly work their magic.
This was such a satisfying result, and one that would have been almost impossible to imagine given the surrounding circumstances going into the match, if it was taking place 5-6 years ago. The insight into MA’s emotional intelligence changing the mentality of the team and getting that often elusive buy in, can’t be understated. While other fans might mock his approach, we’ll keep on enjoying the positive results it brings. COYG.
Arsenal seem really really comfortable in their skin. No matter the tactics they adapt on the day they are fully committed and confident. Love the swagger they’ve got.
If Arteta was a new Mourinho, he wouldn't be afraid to make substitutions when Plan A isn't working. Arteta wouldn't be afraid to lock the back door after gaining a hard-fought lead by a goal. For example, if Arteta was a new Mourinho, Arsenal would have been able to hold a 1-Nil with a man down against Brighton - because Mourinho would have made defensive changes as soon as Declan was sent off, not after the opposition already scored, not in the 70th and 80th minutes. Arteta is afraid to use his entire squad (through substitutions and rotation), Mourinho is/was not.
Yeah that’s something I’m still surprised at - arteta seems to learn from his mistakes very often and quickly; but yet he still struggles on the plan b, in both speed and effectiveness(on a general basis) I was shouting at the screen when he changed to a back 5 against Brighton becuase that’s not how/when we are good defensively and it seemed like he didn’t think the decision through at all and was just doing anything. If arteta can improve his on the spot problem solving (can easily be done by practicing some stuff in advance to give him more options) he will be a truly top, top coach
Poch at spurs shitz all over ange (so far) but as you allude to, it's way too early to judge him fully yet anyway. They both won fuck all at spurs so win win for me anyway 😂
I had similar thoughts while watching the game, I loved how aggressive we were defensively without going to far, reminded me of the good old days when we had those physical imposing players at the back, although Timber is shorter than Ben White, Saliba and Gabriel he was the most versatile player all game, very exciting times ahead! Once we get Rice, Martin and Merino back it’s a wrap
Very recommendable content. I love your channel mate its so fact based. However, I think Arteta's defensive game is more drawn to David Moyes style. So similar, but better positional awareness to stay an attacking threat even in a low block setup.
@DiffKnock I know this will sound crazy, but I felt like we were WAY more physical without Odegard in the team and actually were just as dangerous. Odegard, imo, goes missing a bit in big games. And as for Rice, i'm confused as to where he should actually play. Partey and Jorginho have a good balance. Not saying get rid, i'm just saying I think we have more options than what we think.
I agree with everything you said. Why do you think he gets some much hate, especially at the start, from pundits & journalist? Is it the Arsenal agenda or he’s he just not likeable? I watch/ed every presser & think he’s so clear in he’s messaging, so can’t get my ahead around it, thanks
BOOOORING BOOOORING ARSENAL We played so often like this under George Graham, our other best modern manager with Wenger. He won two titles and a European trophy with that style, including that season that ended with the iconic Anfield '89 game (better ending than City 2012 btw). I don't usually take much from what Gary Neville says, but he did mention Arteta being like a fusion of Wenger and Graham, and I love that. Obviously there's more to it, but it feels like we've come full circle.
People are giving this too much thought. Arsenal plays 5-6 games like this in a season tops. Arteta is very flexible and plays the game according to what's in front of him. He also doesnt seem to care whether Arsenal win 1:0 or 5:0. He wants the points and a clean sheet.
As corrected in the video, I thought it was in our history but it turns out it was just in PL History. Apologies!
Pretty sure we were unbeaten away from home in 02/03 then obviously invisible then season so we have had great away form under Wenger, admittedly I'm not sure how many wins we got or how many goals conceded

Yeah that’s something I’m still surprised at - arteta seems to learn from his mistakes very often and quickly; but yet he still struggles on the plan b, in both speed and effectiveness(on a general basis)
I was shouting at the screen when he changed to a back 5 against Brighton becuase that’s not how/when we are good defensively and it seemed like he didn’t think the decision through at all and was just doing anything.
If arteta can improve his on the spot problem solving (can easily be done by practicing some stuff in advance to give him more options) he will be a truly top, top coach
Timber what a player!
Beautiful 🤩
Arteta loves the players.... The players love Arteta.... And I love them all... ❤❤ COYG💪💪
You're clearly addicted to failure then..
How is Ange ALREADY one of their best coaches of the modern era? Banter club
I like Ange even though I am Arsenal through and through.
Class vid as per
Very recommendable content. I love your channel mate its so fact based. However, I think Arteta's defensive game is more drawn to David Moyes style. So similar, but better positional awareness to stay an attacking threat even in a low block setup.
you just don't do mid or bad videos do you Alex! Always enjoy your thoughts on the Arsenal
I grew up watching Arsene's Arsenal. On Sunday Arteta gave me a taste of what it was like to watch Arsenal in the George Graham era.
The 3 in a row at spurs isn't the first time in our history BTW, its In Premier league history - George Graham did it in the 80s
Sadly PGMOL have fucked 114 for us, so let's get 112!
Cracking content
great video
Here for digestible analysis, stayed for the banter and memes 😂 stay true and diligent, my friend!
Great win, Great video and analysis...Can we wear the away kit again at City 😊
"We fight and we run for each other"
BOOOORING BOOOORING ARSENAL
We played so often like this under George Graham, our other best modern manager with Wenger.
That ending was sublime🤌
