- Episode 59 of Saint Seiya Omega brings back Shun the Andromeda Saint, who appears in his black trimmed classic style Cloth (Though it's in a Cloth Stone) before upgrading it the new Saint Seiya Omega style.
He keeps the Nebula Chains of course, though they are now tipped with crystals.
I don't care what people say, Shun is my favorite character!

Shun is very powerful he’s just had a bad reputation on the anime since they always portray him as weak and needing his brother, but canonically in the manga, including next dimension, he’s only been saved twice, not to mention ikki himself said that shun is the most powerful but he is too kind to finish his foes

Yeah it's already better than how they used to treat him in those 4 filler movies from the 80s.
And yeah I have mixed feelings when it comes to Omega. It doens't feel like that's suppost to be a sequel to the original anime, in my opinion. But there is some things to enjoy here and there.

If you read next dimension you would found out that god cloth isn't permanent. As soon as they leave elysium their cloth will revert back to their final bronze form. As seen what happened to shun and ikki in the next dimension series. Since next dimension is kanon to the original series, seiya no longer has the god cloth. so getting promoted to gold saint status is not a downgrade for him.
This was in Soul or Gold, you don't need to read Next Dimension to know this
Athena can buff it again anytime with her blood
Seiya is the next Sagittarius, Hyoga is Aquarius (he is Camus' disciple), Ikki is Leo (proclaimed by Kaiser iirc), Shiryu is Libra (he is Dohko's disciple), and Shun is.... Hmm... By quality of Cosmo, since he is Hades' vessel, shouldn't he be more suited to be a Virgo? If not Cancer? I dunno...

@faytesaurelius350 Yeah when they are transported in the past after the Hades Arc during the battle against the then Virgo Saint, Shaka intervened and informed him that Shun is his successor and the next Virgo Saint.
There's nothing to say that being trained by a Gold Saint makes you any more of candidate for a Gold Cloth than anything else, Ikki and Shun also bested Gold Saints in their time.
Shun is always stronger without cloth. That enemy was lucky to have Shun wearing Andromeda 😂

Sure, the difference between Shun's new voice and the original may be small. But if you compare Hyoga's new voice(Mamoru Miyano) and his original voice(Koichi Hashimoto), you'll note the difference.

True. They only put Seiya in the Sagittarius cloth for the reasons you said and because they wanted to give an exuse as to why the main character uses the Pegasus Cloth. Kouga using another cloth would have been fine by me.

i think that in the case of Shun and Ikki has to do with the fact that the cloths are esential part of those characters you can´t see shun fighting without the chain or ikki getting back with his armor over and over

well in the battle in the Elysium Fields Thanatos actually acknowledged Ikki as the strongest out of the group. The only reason why Seiya is a Gold Saint is because they needed to get him back somehow on the show for the old fans. Otherwise he would just get random appearances like Hyoga, Jabu and the others. I don't know why but I get this feeling that they are going to kill Seiya and the original saints.
Ikki always refer as the strongest Bronze to date, even Seiya no where near Ikki level. Seiya became gold because he is the most loyal saint to Athena, he always in Athena side, even from the time when he live with name of Tenma.
Canon wise all of then are hinted to be the next generation Gold saints. Omega is not canon to the original that's why there's this discrepancy.

Exactly, that is my point. No one except other gods should be able to cause Seiya, Hyoga etc, any trouble. I would love for the original saint to once again weild the God Cloths, but that is not going to happen. Mainly because they were able to wear them because Athena's blood had touched them.

Dude, the gold cloths goes to people that have been born under the zodiac sing the armor represents. It is not trivia it is a fact. It is on the Saint Seiya Kaisen. It doesn't matter if the saint has a lower level before getting their gold cloth as seen on Next Dimension when both Shion and Dokho are granted their golden cloths. They were first bronze saints. By the way, Next Dimension IS canon.

Except Seiya's starsign IS Sagittarius, no one has the starsign of Pegasus, and Seiya and co were breaking the established rule sof Saint hood left and right from the moment we met them, beating Silver Saints and Gold Saints should have been impossible, yet it wasn't. Seiya used the Saggittarius Cloth often enough that him becoming the new Saggitarius Saint is hardly a surprise.
StrangerUK01 Seiya's constellation is supposed to be Pegasus in the original series. You're talking about Zodiac, which is also true since he's born on Dec 1.

yeah, it's shitty because Seiya's star is Pegasus not Saggitarius. Omega really fucked up a lot of things from the original series. But they are trying to get better, the last few episodes have actually been enjoyable.
I haven't read Next Dimension yet, I know it has story similar to Lost Canvas. Mainly because the writers separated and decided to write their own stories. Do you know a site where I can read that manga?
