Player it’s such an eyesore and is vandalism, so yes I too think they are very disgusting especially together, tourists need to have more respect sometimes this is an old bridge, you don’t see people tagging their names into the Statue of Liberty because that is rude and vandalism, this should be considered the exact same and I’m glad they are putting glass panels up to stop this.

Try making a love park: couples can buy a sapling and/or a space and plant it together, in a few years you'll have a beautiful scenery, I can see people proposing in front of the tree they planted already. Bonus, if the thing goes well we could end with a forest bigger than central park.

It's rusty garbage and isn't even a French tradition. People started putting them there in the 2000s on bridges that are hundreds of years old. It's better off as scrap metal and the money used to further clean up the city.

Years before we planted a tree. This year when I passed that place I checked if it was there since we never went back to water it atleast once. The tree was there all flowered with lilac flowers. Oh! There was a sudden heaviness in the heart. I know and it’s all right..

Recently saw some pop up in Bruges as well. They’re gone now.
There’s a bridge just like that in Vietnam. I live in America, but all of our family is Vietnamese. There’s not many locks, but there’s enough to make it difficult to find your aunt and uncle’s lock on there not know it would even be there. Well, I did just that. I don’t even know if it’s ACTUALLY my aunt and uncle, but a couple with the names “Bao/Bo Nguyen” and “Kathy Yang” isn’t very common.
This is so sad, so many memories are erased but hopefully there could be a new tradition.
