    I get that people think it’s a waste but if any more locks had been on it would’ve probably destroyed all the railings, ruining the bridge and architecture. This isn’t cute, nor is a lock going to symbolize your love for eternity. I think it’s stupid and that it’s right they took it off. It’s probably going to take a long time or be impossible to give back every single lock + some couples are probably broken up by now. I personally think there are better methods for showcasing your relationship, just not through heavy ass locks. Maybe if people didn’t start wasting random locks and locked it to a railing this wouldn’t have started. Yet people are complaining at the people trying to save the buildings, instead of the ones that STARTED it. Seriously wack 🤦‍♀️

    I remember seeing a report about that area. The weight of the locks cause part of the locks fence to collapse & then the fallen part needs to be recovered & the empty bit has to be filled in on the bridge. The bridge isn't realistically long enough to hold all the locks it's ever gotten.

    I don't like how people destroy historical places in the name of love. You're just making the place look like crap and the locks are gonna be taken down at somepoint.

      @@theworkethic Where is the narcissism? Acknowledgment of love in a simple gesture is not narcissism. Rudely telling someone to grow up for expressing a creative suggestion is childish. Empathy, creativity, romance and maturity are not something with which you are familiar, apparently. Sad.

    Truly a shame they trashed it. Regardless, "tacky" or not, could have been preserved & placed in a gallery or otherwise as an attraction. Lost a lot by dumping it. 💫 Bless him for saving some.

    But the whole point was for the locks to be locked for eternity🤷‍♀️ perhaps the city of Paris could have melted all the locks and sections of the bridge and created a love statue! That would have been perfect, perhaps combining it with a new place where locks could be put❤️

    • @justananonymouspotato
      @justananonymouspotato ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the locks would’ve been made of wildly different materials ranging from plastics to metals to whatever else. Not to mention the degradation of certain ones which would also make it difficult to build a statue of it all. Plus, certain locks’ composition may be completely unrecognizable, with no method of finding out from the brand if it wasn’t bought from some big-name company. So no, that would not be possible.
      And a mass amount of locks ANYWHERE is still destructive to the environment and safety of anyone/anything living there.

    Let's be real here, even if they had been hung on something that had nothing to do with jeopardizing safety, people still would have taken them down because of insecurity alone. People are toxic beings and thrive on spreading toxicity. This is why we can't have nice things.

    *An excellent statement for new investors, that shouldn't be forgotten!. You don't have to have a sky-high IQ in order to be a successful investor. Everyone can do it as long as they have the emotional fortitude to keep at it. lt takes strong will to not go with the flow and do what everyone else does. Sometimes value investing can be lonely, but if you stick to it, you have a much greater chance of success. Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.*
