Best. Video. Ever. The graphic you made for B tension is 🔥. Liam has the voice of a honey bear, the hands of a surgeon, and a face made for radio. 🍯✋🏼😆
Great video. One thought... it would be good to position the camera to capture what your hands are doing. Some things like when you are talking about the shifter micro adjustments and pressing buttons you can’t see what your hands are doing. Is that multi tool that comes in the box available separately? I would be interested in buying one? Please and thank you. :)
Techs need to take a bow from time to time. They make this all look so easy. I could be yanking my hair out trying to get all my gears working let alone smooth and after several hours feel completely defeated. Eventually...ferry this contraption to my LBS and the dude has it dialed up/down and crisp in 1 minute...2 if the freaking hanger was bent. Just makes me want to throw my wallet at the guy AND buy him lunch. Take it all FFS you deserve it!
Such a cool video!!!! Very detailed and good explanation and easy to follow! I love that 1st person angle. It was realy interestig, even though I can never afford this drivetrain.
Great review. I have Park Tool PCS-10. Great stand and it’s served me well over the years. I’ll never need to buy another one. I prefer the clamp head of the Park stand in lieu of the plastic teeth on the one you reviewed. For a DIY bike mechanic either would do the job.
For regular Eagle you need to set the B-gap with the rear suspension sagged (get friendly with your customers!). Is AXS the same or can you do it as Liam does, in the stand?
you are right, when I first set it up I do it in the stand, most bikes it doesn't change too much unless a major rear axle path, but once the customer picks up the bike we often check it. Yeti bikes are very consistent so you can kinda know within one mm or two of where it needs to be in the stand :)
@@liamwoods5353 Great answer. I've found that Eagle tends to be *really* sensitive to B-gap and being a few mm out can make the difference between crisp shifting and, well, garbage shifting. Best to check when sagged for sure.
@@rantingwrench the hilarious thing is by setting the b-gap at sag on my nomad, if i put it on the stand on the top cog the chain almost doesn't touch the top wheel of the derailleur :D
Awesome video.... Whatever your working on, adjusting, or installing needs to be centered in the frame/video..... Through out the video what you were doing couldn't be seen.
I tuned mine smoother I think except for the 3 biggest cogs. If I try and micro tune those, then the smaller cogs will get outta tune instead. I can never get all shifting super smooth! It's a bit irritating... My friend's XX1 gold cassette shifting was a lot smoother for all speeds! Please tell me how to achieve that. All steps after installation was followed as per SRAM's installation video. New hanger even..
I’m trying to install SRAM GX Wireless on my 2019 YT Decoy E-bike.. The hanger that is currently on there is different than the ones you see on newer bikes… How would I install my derailleur being that the original hanger is longer and outdated for new wireless setup..
There’s an easier way to set the H and L limit screws. Since the shifts are electronic and only move the same amount each time, there’s really no chance for it to shift too much that it would fall into the frame or the spokes. To set either the H or L limit, just shift into the highest and lowest gears and ensure the limit screws are backed out just a hairline space so that the tips aren’t touching anything.
Not a fan of any drivetrain that requires any kind of battery. I just dont see the fun in wondering if your gonna have enough juice to get you thru a day of riding. Id really like see you guys do more budget friendly videos and im sure im not the only one. Im interested in seeing one of the microshift 9 speed 1× drivetrains being completely set up maybe on a budget hardtail tho lol. Love your videos, very informative and funny at times. Keep em comin. Thank you🤘
Shazam'd the whole video still not able to find the music used in this video. Searching Music: "In Space" by Antarctic comes up with some space music not the actual. Music link please. Thanks
Hi, nice vid. Im perplexed, I had a gx eagle and bought the x01 axs, 10-50 casette and my dial doesnt even reach the cog? Chain to short? Also on the biggest cog the arm is at 4o clock?
Hello, if you guys could tell me the size and name of the tool he used to take put the cassete on? I have a GX casete and I wanna change it for an XX1 looks easy to change but idk what tools I need. Thanks.
@Worldwide Cyclery could you please explain how you know if you need to micro adjust in up or down position? I can't find ANY information on that, it's driving me crazy and the more time i spend on this the more noise it makes :'(
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Can the gear selector remote be setup as single shift? Meaning, even if you press and hold the gear selector only one gear shift unless you release an press again? Thanks
Is it possible to change the idler gears & run this on a 11 speed SRAM CASSETTE? Could I adjust the highest gear 11 to shift to 12 but actually move just a micro to stay on gear 11. So when you get to 11 you click one more & it stays in the same gear for 12. Reason is I want to put it on a eBike & would like to stay with the thicker/stronger chain on the 11speed?
Great instructional vid, Liam. Question about your limit screw and micro adjusting of this system....Do you set up a mechanical Eagle system the same way? I ask because your technique is definitely different than SRAM recommends. No judgment there...you’re an expert mechanic and I’m sure you know your $hit. More asking because I am having a bear of a time getting my Eagle X01 RD fine tuned. I get either the top half of the cassette shifting well or the bottom half...but not the whole dang thing. It’s driving me insane and I thought maybe I should try your setup technique??

It doesn't matter which way you do it as long the chain is long enough when on the 1. gear :-)

Hey WC, just placed my first order with you. Love the confirmation email, very nice touch, pleasure doing Business with you 👊
Is the axs derailleur compatible with differennt cassettes? Changing between 10-42 and 10-52 (winter and summer rims)
yes you can go up to 52 teeth - may bee the chain will be a little loose with 42 t but it would better to use separate chains for each casette.
Great video. What is the match-maker? Is it better to use that vs what came with the set? Thanks.
it is up to you to decide what you prefere. technical there is no difference
Can the gear selector remote be setup as single shift? Meaning, even if you press and hold the gear selector only one gear shift unless you release an press again? Thanks
Yes and you can set that behavior via the axs app! CheeRS

Will the X01 chain off my gx drive train be long enough or too short for my new axs mini kit ?

What if the battery goes empty? Please answer this question
Then you have to charge it or what do you do if your handy batterie is empty?
Does anyone know if this would be compatible with a SRAM Eagle PG1230 11-50T 12sp Cassette?
yes and there are even some upgrade kits with that combo
What about the rear hub? Having an 11sp hub, is there an XD Driver for 12 speed? Or does 12 fit onto 11sp hub just has cogs spaced slightly closer?
It fits the 12 speed
