Never thought I’d learn so much in a 20 minute video! Had my first elk hunt last year in Idaho and just by listening what you had to say Trail I’ve learned that I was definitely on the right track but missed some key aspects. Didn’t focus on water near the amount I should have, especially considering it was so dry. Also thinking back to the hunt abour 90% of the time we saw elk was in edge habitat in that early morning and just before dark window. Thanks a bunch!
Good job man. Your information is obviously from experience,it's really amazing and thank you for taking your time to help the hunting community with your knowledge and God bless you and your family
What a great video...thanks Trail!! Grew up hunting big game in Alaska, and now that I live in Idaho, I've been trying to hone my skills as a newbie hunting elk. Tons of great info in here!
i was just listening to Randy and Cory on Elk Talk podcast. Randy was talking about food sources. It will be cool to do a deep dive into the food sources for times of year, elevation and maybe even regions
Thanks Trail for this video, I've heard other TH-camrs explain this but just maybe you'll say something they didn't and that's what I needed to know. Looking forward to more...
Excellent overview and breakdown Trail Forrest. Very informative and easy to follow and understand. Hopefully 🤞🏻 I will be able to get out west and hunt the big 3 species including pronghorns, mule and elk even if it is a cow elk hunt. I live in an apartment currently so I don’t have room for elk antlers.
Great info for this season 👍 thank you for the sharing of this extremely valuable educational information, we are putting it together immediately lol 2months to bow season opener
Awesome information and organization! Preparing for my first elk archery season next fall and videos like this are incredibly appreciated.

Great, great suggestion!!
Great informational video Trail as always your right on target. Looking forward to next one Gods Blessings on all your adventures
Thanks for this, these tips videos are so helpful!
I’m a deer and pronghorn hunter with an elk addiction
Not gonna work this year in Colorado. We have so much rain and water, the elk can drink from anywhere and everywhere.
Hopefully that means there everywhere lol😂
Best elk habitat is on private property. Money.
Thank u
yes
Where can I get that hat?
Hi! Trail is wearing our new Stratus Hat. It will be available on the GOHUNT Gear Shop soon! 💪
Rut stache engaged.
Elk like to be close to water, food, and cover. Elk only move a quarter mile a day if there is a nearby water source
Elk are the best species. Prove me wrong.
Walk around till you find it, boom, problem solved.
They are in my backyard all the time, the u can hide there😅
👍

Too much Neville influence… the stache looks terrible! 😂 Otherwise, great info Trail.
Elk are second to Moose, but you keep spreading the false narrative.
