I'll explain why, as I work at the shipyard myself (for the time being); The masts were taken down after the main mast broke in a storm in 2012, both the foremast and mainmast are currently being maintained in the Mast-manufacturing area of the shipyard, and will not be re-installed for now, as the shipyard fears another storm might be coming on soon-ish. We are currently working on a smaller vessel called a "Waterschip", which is nothing much compared to the Batavia or 7 Provinciën really, but at least it's being funded. (In case you wonder what it'd cost to build a ship like the Batavia, or what it'd cost to re-start the project of De 7 Proviniën (which is currently cancalled entirely): The continuation of the built of De 7 Provinciën, would cost an estimated 15, to 20 million euros.)
Do you think the kingdom / sultanate in Indonesia does not have ships like that? Try looking for "Jung jawa", those are ships from the Majapahit kingdom and the demak sultanate, even the size of the ship is much bigger than the ships owned by Portuguese traders, before the Dutch arrived, the Portuguese were already first in the Indonesian archipelago and the Demak kingdom with its warships attacked Portuguese ships in the Malacca Strait.
