SO glad you got to experience Unbound. I hope you left with many fond memories and a strong desire to return. Next time, you should schedule a meet up for subscribers.
As ever, the lack of ego and focus on enjoyment in your storylines and shooting is very refreshing. I also want to acknowledge the importance you place on having fun. I mean, obvious, right? You get invited somewhere, make plans, get prepped for the event, excitement building all the while. I say this because I'm doing the Haydon Hundred sportive with a mate, Saturday next, or maybe not, because the forecast is for gale force 8, and all I feel is a sense of foreboding at the punishment to come when climbing five of the six highest roads in England. I want to chicken out, do it the following weekend instead, or something, just not in a force 8 please! Would you ride it this weekend? Thumbs up for yes, down for no.
I suppose having complained about the delay I should leave a comment. Excellent in every way. You remain the most interesting and relatable cycling youtuber. Each video improves upon the last and you remain the favourite of many because of your personality, likeability and wonderful creativity. Long may it continue. Excellent work mate.
Cool that Garmin sponsored Unbound and sent you over, Francis. And I enjoyed looking through the results and seeing your name among the finishers, fantastic. And these all-day, off-road rides all look absolutely epic, no matter the location, tho', to be sure, Unbound has quickly become the most famous and most coveted gravel experience.
I know this is a month late but been busy running a kids mountain bike camp! But glad you made it to the US! Welcome! And next time stop by New England next time!
Awesome! Would love to see you do more of the American gravel races! Looks like you had fun and got to chat with a lot of great people in the cycling community.
Awesome ride Francis-that looked like a load of fun-and you took some English conditions over for them-so kind! Truly you looked absolutely at home in those conditions whilst the majority of the others-excluding Tyler-just looked miserable-until the finish of course. Chapeaux
I've only done a handful of gravel races. Seeing everyone going hard at the beginning just reminds me of myself - blowing myself up in the first third of the ride only to crack and barely limp across the finish line at the end of the day. Definitely gonna pace from the get go next time I race gravel. Great effort out there!
Great series of videos, really captured the spirit of “American gravel”. It looked awesome, great ride in epic conditions. 200 next year perhaps or some other US gravel events? Always good to see Tyler P too.
Congrats on what looked like a great ride in great company. I've got our own Haydon 100 tomorrow - wind looks a little unkind. Bumped into Daisy in a restaurant last week, and despite the 'don't do it Dad' better judgement from my kids I said hello. Hope it wasn't too weird for her. Great that Garmin are supporting you. And yes, I'll be riding with my friends tomorrow at whatever the slowest pace is. No heroes, just completion. Shout out to Dave in North Pennine Cycles - a shop almost in the middle of nowhere (Nenthead) who replaced a broken spoke for me in last year's event. I now travel out there for my bike issues as he's cheap as chips and very reliable. He even lets me watch him work so I can learn.
Chapeau Francis. You made it look easy. I can't think of too many people who can just show up and rip off 100 off-road miles filming and narrating for your followers. 🙏👊🌧️🚴
What a great video! Come back here next year if you can. Emporia welcomes you all. I loved being downtown watching you all grind your way to the end. Best week of the year here!
I am really tempted by doing the Garmin ride in the UK. If UK trains weren't soo shite to get around. From Nottingham it's like 5 trains and about 6 hours travel.
That was excellent as other people have said it would be so good for you to do a series of American races with your take on them absolutely priceless well done !
Just watched a " box set" of unbound vlogs Francis: Superb clips of wonderful bike folk and their bikes topped off with the 100 mile gravel race..... Mint ! A belated happy birthday 🎂 🥳 to Daisy! All the best 🍻
@@Cade_Media Loved the Newcastle v Portland connection to our weather! 😄have a great weekend.....I see Tony Fawcett says he is picking up a new Scott Road bike......a bike chat on his spec & set up?
Are you gonna ride the Garmin New Forest event, Francis. Great riding there - nothing epic, but nice scenery and smooth roads and of course the forest fire trails.
Great video Francis always better with friends, though all that rain must of been a shock to the system coming from the North East as it's always sunny there. :)
Good stuff mate! I was out there with ya in the 100. If you saw a bloke in the mud at mile 18, that was me. War of attrition out there. Hope you're back next year!
Was gonna tell you to look up our rider Roy Kranz, but figured you were gonna be too busy. He is the undefeated 6x 200 mile Fatbike champ at that race. Glad you had a great experience.
Hi Francis, loving your channel...just wanted to know what carb supplement you used in your bottles. I remember you mentioning it before but I cannot find that video.
STYRKR carb mix - there's a link in the video description and a code for 25% off too! The company is run by my friend Christian, worth a try it's good stuff
What a blast day out- cool and overcast in the morning with heavy rain and some sun in the afternoon. Unbound promised weather and they didn't disappoint! Francis didn't show the hike a bike mud section after mile 64 because I think the heavy rain began after he passed that section but it became a quagmire. Congrats to everyone who finished any distance.
What are your thoughts on gravel bars? Your bikes and other riders bikes in your films appear to have traditional drop bars but gravel bikes for sale all have flared bars. Thanks
"Because cycling, is better, with friends 👌"
Francis Cade, Best cycling TH-camr ever
Using Cantilever brakes and blood is pooring from her elbow, Riley is the real cyclist 🤘
SO glad you got to experience Unbound. I hope you left with many fond memories and a strong desire to return. Next time, you should schedule a meet up for subscribers.
Everyone starting this video "Oh no my headphones have broke..." Great adventure!
lol
premiere pro is clearly jetlagged, sorry Walter!

Francis, As always, you do a wonderful job capturing the joy and travails of cycling. Well done, mate!

I know this is a month late but been busy running a kids mountain bike camp! But glad you made it to the US! Welcome! And next time stop by New England next time!
Wow amazing ride. Thanks for sharing.
Francis is the best cycling Vloger at this moment.
This channel deserves at least 1mil Sub
Portlander here, Molly is fantastic and yes Portland and the UK have the same weather...
Awesome! Would love to see you do more of the American gravel races! Looks like you had fun and got to chat with a lot of great people in the cycling community.
The best video about Unbound I've seen! Actually got a taste for what it was like.
This is by far the best Unbound video I've seen so far!
Somehow I had chills and chicken skin on minute 9:00 saw you on the finish line of that monster ride. chapeau Francis!

Great input, thanks Walter
Excellent! and I'm in the video! Glad I was there with 3feet cycling SAG to keep the wheels on the bus!

Ah awesome, she did mention this! Hope your ride goes well and the wind isn't too bad!!!
I was half expecting (and hoping for) a 45 minute Vegan Cyclist type recap!! But this was great!
great to see a reunion w vegan cyclist. that project usa series was such a good one!
Best Video about unbound I have ever seen!
We'd love to have you up at Gravel Worlds in Lincoln, NE. August 20th. Great video!!
2:04 Cade merch motto right there! Definitely a theme of your channel. Thanks for another great video!
Excellent Francis. Excellent. Wished I was younger but wait I'm 59. May have to have a dig. Already at 10,500 miles this year so mmmmmm.
Chapeau Francis. You made it look easy. I can't think of too many people who can just show up and rip off 100 off-road miles filming and narrating for your followers. 🙏👊🌧️🚴
Just awesome mate what a fab experience and ride and as always a top watch. Gravel rocks!
All this crossover with all my favourite TH-cam bike social media peeps! Especially with you dude!! Congrats on the run!!
Awesome man, hope we see you again with Lawrence and James for Unbound 200.
So happy to have seen you on the streets! Never in a million years would we have thought!!
Fantastic Francis, loved the vid. Hoped it might be longer though. And Sagan defo wanted to say hello hahah.
What a great video! Come back here next year if you can. Emporia welcomes you all. I loved being downtown watching you all grind your way to the end. Best week of the year here!
Great job, Francis! So cool that you saw Tyler at the end. Love that you guys are buddies!
I am really tempted by doing the Garmin ride in the UK.
If UK trains weren't soo shite to get around.
From Nottingham it's like 5 trains and about 6 hours travel.
Loved the video, loved seeing you riding with friends and really loved the clear and obvious mutual respect between yourself and Tyler Pearce.
5:24 Is the bladder water capacity 4 dm³ or is the volume of the entire pack 4 dm³?
The rain made that race so much more fun. Unbound in the heat sucks. Hope you come back out next year.
Tyler x Francis my two favorite TH-camrs 🤩❤️
One of your best videos in ages.
Proud of you Francis
That was excellent as other people have said it would be so good for you to do a series of American races with your take on them absolutely priceless well done !
Wow that looked brutal but sort of fun at the same time too. Well done Francis x
Epic, Francis. Thanks for sharing.

@@Cade_Media looking forward to that video Francis👌
Are you gonna ride the Garmin New Forest event, Francis. Great riding there - nothing epic, but nice scenery and smooth roads and of course the forest fire trails.
yeah thanks a lot for not being too epic as the americans tend to and not silly like my locals do, appreciate your style
Been waiting for this video
Broken cleat… rain… cold, etc… but you had fun and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters… 😎🍻
Great video Francis always better with friends, though all that rain must of been a shock to the system coming from the North East as it's always sunny there. :)
Ah that looked incredible! Just looked like a longer version of the Waskerley Way 😁
Very cool -you did a great job capturing the race.
What a great experience, thanks for sharing it with us.
very cool to see your experience and great job with the editing and the camera work.
Yes!! Love Dani!! Had to be there with Peter
The best Unbound film I've seen and it needed a Brit to make it!
A great video ... thanks Francis.
Thank you!
Awesome content as always Francis, I hope the post beer was good. Glad you were able to find Tyler, we love that guy!
Lovely stuff Francis...now if only the UK had mile after mile of lovely gravel roads 😀
just catching up with this, what a great ride. Nice one.
Bloody brilliantly done , riding my dream :)
Ive been waiting for this one to drop! Welcome to midwest gravel! I hope you had fun. I'd love to do unbound.
Are you doing the Garmin New Forest ride Francis?
Wonder if Garmin gave out new bike new gears as well ... :) it's good to keep bike shops running busy.
Warm beer! I thought I was the only one who liked those when it’s cold.🤘👍
Epic bruv✊🏾 Well bloody done 👏🏾
Thanks for bringing your weather here to Kansas, it’s been raining every day since.
No probs 👍
Good stuff mate! I was out there with ya in the 100. If you saw a bloke in the mud at mile 18, that was me. War of attrition out there. Hope you're back next year!
Looking at the different bikes was great.
Way a day of racing! We had a racer in the 200 and many peeps racing the 100. I wish I could have ran into you brother! Come back next year!
Great video! I enjoyed it alot! Thanks
Looks like great fun. Do you remember how much battery power you had left on the Garmin 1040 at the end?
I was using the 830 for this ride because the other one was still top secret!
Big Up Francis, as usually great content it look so much fun
Was gonna tell you to look up our rider Roy Kranz, but figured you were gonna be too busy. He is the undefeated 6x 200 mile Fatbike champ at that race. Glad you had a great experience.
Whoop Whoop VC on screen, well done on the ride, you looked good at the end, should have done the 300 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Hey Franny -- was there anything about your bike setup for this event that you would change, if you could go back in time?
Some going well done but the 350 is just nuts I seen Tyler's Strava he is just on a different level.
okay that looked pretty awesome fun. great vid as well

ah yeah I think I was pretty much on the home straight when the rain really hit!!
Really brings me into the experience! Great video.
Smiled all the way through that vid awesome 🤘
That walter garmin legend with you in the beginning at the crash pulled me and 12 others around Rebaccas Private Idaho for about 4hrs.
that looked pretty awesome! Emporia has some cool stuff. A great gravel event, world class disc golf park... :)
Love it when TH-camrs meet IRL. You & Tyler both smashed it!
That band you were wearing on your left arm, was that the transflag?
yeah that's the band!
Congratulations 🎉
What are your thoughts on gravel bars? Your bikes and other riders bikes in your films appear to have traditional drop bars but gravel bikes for sale all have flared bars. Thanks
I don't like flared bars. Mine have a bit of flare and I would prefer if they were just regular road bars!
Nice job Francis, looked like an awesome ride & day!
Well done, man!
Savage, but looks like you loved every minute of it. Also did you get the Mc'D's American style ?
Loved this thanks for the insight of such a ride
Another fantastic video!
So nice of you to bring over the British weather 🤣
Awesome vid , looked like to much fun
Amazing video brother! Welcome to USA.
Not too shabby 👍
Great to see you had a good time in the US bro!🤙 You really made that look easy! 😅
