Its Impressive how Rockstar finds a way to connect all these games to the same universe.
Such a great interweaving story, it's just like a big movie
Ive been wondering if they had this all planned out or just built it up depending on the success of GTA 3
TheTriangle444 the way it’s written, it would’ve been quite simple to overlap the storylines. For example; they probably never planned for Claude and Catalina to be in San Andreas, but it gives it such a gruesome foreshadow to GTA III and also weaves into the San Andreas storyline very well
@@bleachedout It turned out brilliant to the whole series nonetheless. Each game was its own image yet still maintaining the connection and reminds us that we are in the same universe all along. Like they manage to get in key players (especially Donald Love and Avery Carrington) and the whole Mafia thing
the fact that they're also connected with MANHUNT and Bully is even more impressive
The most important aspect of this whole video is that Phil Collins is canon in the GTA universe.

To be honest i still prefer GTA Vice City over any other GTA game. I prefer the whole entire 3D Universe (Excluding the Gameboy Advance one) over GTA 5 and 4.
My man Claude doesn't kid around, in one game he took out almost all of the gang leaders that rose to power throughout the previous games (in the timeline) in his quest for vengeance against Catalina.
And tommy, never to mess with him
Tommy, cj, and Claude are not to be messed with they all killed big time criminals
Claude is probably the scariest protagonist of the entire series he has no emotion and goes on rampages killing everyone with out a single sign of remorse or sorrow and he is just not loyal to anyone at all every gang in the city hates him

Victor Vance is the most underrated protagonist of the 3D Universe. I hate the fact that he's so overlooked. The dude is such a badass. I couldn't believe that HE was the one who died in the beginning of Vice City cuz he was so awesome in VCS.
Sad that the GTA protagonist with the most morals was the one who died.

Tommy Vercetti is the realest character in the games, he had an ambition and everything he did in the game was to set it out and not just work his ass off for different miscellaneous job offers (except for Auntie Poulet, I'll give you that lol)

Not for me, the story was too bland to be memorable. For me, GTA IV and V's story was memorable and GTA VC's vibes and characters too. For GTA SA, the fun gameplay was memorable.

I think it's because rockstar didn't have a plan for it, they only realized it when they're making the second or latter games.
Because it's the year that the game was set it in, Gta Vice city stories was set in 1984 and gta 3 was set in the early 2000s
it's a prequal not a sequal,
well they designed it and then created the other ones as before to have a plot that connects them all at the end- brilliant really.
Finally, a damn accurate GTA timeline video! Most people don't know the difference between the 3D and HD universe and they miss out on a lot of GTA games like the: Liberty City and Vice City Stories games as well as the Gameboy Advanced game :/... Glad you know your shit. Liked and subscribed.

I'm a longtime GTA fan, and I love the portable titles. Vice City Stories and Chinatown Wars being my favorites.
How ironic, isn't it? GTA 3 was the first 3D game, yet chronologically it takes place last.
Same thing with gta vice city stories, it's the last 3d game made but takes place in 1984 before any other 3d game

Its because the Vic we know in VCS is clean and has a clear head. The Vic who gets gunned down in VC is the version of him who is on drugs and let Lance take advantage of his depression because his girl got killed. Drugs will fuck you up.

GTA IV will always be in mine.
Basically same as GTA 5, with few more features. It was ahead of it's time! I'm always pulling out my ps2 just for this title! Medievil is my favorite ps1 title, I pulled out the ps1 to play it and beat it before the PS4 remake. If any GTA game gets a remake, it should be GTA sa. This game would be really good cleaned up kept the same.

you dont remember the Liberty City glitch in SA. People were able to fail the mission CJ has to take out the Forrellis and stay in LC and travel St. Marks and most of the Red Light District

Oh hell yeah! This was such a great timeline video. You covered everything! You covered Liberty City, Vice City stories and Advance. Most timeline videos ignore those entries. And then you mentioned that Rosenberg and Toni re-apear later on. It’s so cool to see how all the 3-D Universe games all connect. Vick and Lance connects to Tommy, Rosenberg connects to CJ, Salvatore Leone leads to Toni, Mike connects to 8-Ball who connects to Claude. Boom! And there’s so many more connections which tie all of them together.

@@hassanyoussefnassereddine2142 Well, they won't make another game set in the stories of the games in this video. Once Rockstar releases a new GTA it will be in the same universe as GTA 4 & GTA 5. But still then, I'd agree with you cause we haven't even seen the 80s in this new universe yet. We might even see a young Michael or young Trevor or the McReary family. Either way, so much to explore and I hope we get to see Vice City again but then in this new universe completely remastered :)

By far still the best summary of the 3D era I've seen. Not only have you described and presented all of the key events with great clarity, but the video itself is rich in detail and information that would be often overlooked or even flat-out incorrect for other summarizers. I also love how you used the SkyGfx and Widescreen mods for III, VC and SA, as both of these mods makes these games look a whole lot more timeless. You can really see the improvement in the atmosphere and vibe that SkyGfx provides for these games. How these games are intended to look.

TheTriangle444 what about cj? He conquered Los santos and took out all rival gangs as well as getting a share in a major casio and mad dogs record label, I’m sure he’s way more powerful and rich then tommy
And probably after salvatore's death Toni became the boss of the Leone family
CJ conquered Los Santos, untouched by anyone.
He might have conquered Los Santos in the post-game, but Tommy Vercetti significantly did it on his own after being backstabbed two times while CJ always had Sweet on the most important missions.
@@TheTriangle444 lets not forget that CJ took down Loco Syndicate, preventing Vietnamese Gang from defeating Wu Zi Mu, took down Sicillian Mafia, work for secret goverment agency (literally flying a damn jet), stop the biggest riot in LA, and last but not least, wiping out 2 strongest street gang off the map. Sweet had been around only for like 30% of the game, and even then he's only a pain in the ass for CJ.

How could you miss the fact that Sonny was USING Tommy to conquer Vice City and setting him a trap with that deal? That's the primary element of Tommy's character development. Vercetti is a force of nature in this universe. Sonny knew that Tommy being the maniac he is, would conquer Vice City faster than him with a little preasure.
That is why we play as Tommy, cause he's nuts and invincible. He can steal a tank from an entire army brigade with one gun and his car.
That trap deal wasn't organized by Sonny. It was orchestrated by Diaz. Sonny only wanted his money and drugs back. He didn't actually want Tommy taking over Vice City because that would mean he'd become a major threat to Sonny. As you said, Tommy is a force of nature. Allowing him to control the city means that he'd no longer be under the Forellis.
In the American army, brigades are called "combat commands" btw
I REALLY want GTA 6 to be set around the same time as Vice city stories, and Vice city. I don't know what it is about that time period that I like so much, but GTA Vice City, is probably my favorite out of all the GTA games. The music in that game is so good. I remember playing that game as a kid, and always wanting Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark at the moon" to hurry up, and come on the radio.

Man, after watching this video I now know for sure that why GRAND THEFT AUTO is the most beloved franchise ever made. The way Rockstar managed to link all of these games is amazing and also all these games are great on their own. I think Rockstar ruled the 3D universe and that's what is going to happen for their HD universe.
