I really must try these on. I wonder how they fit compared to the 2017 model FR1 which I've been rolling on. My one hangup is that they run a bit wide for me and are somewhat bulky. But overall, I love my skates. I'm sure the carbon eliminates the bulky feel. Hopefully the SL Carbon will fit a bit more snug. :)
For anyone interested, the size 47 boot weighs 1000g 😮, that's 300g heavier than Hardcore Evo's. They feel super comfortable straight out the box but fit WIDE and boxy especially spacious in the toe box, padding feels good all the way down midfoot then zero padding for toes. They don't want you to lean forward they feel more at home in an upright position so not good for distance. You can't be prepared for how bulky and heavy they feel 🙈, they remind me of Robocop 🤓 I rate them 7/10
@@TheMadHatter1330 thanks for your feedback! I had 2-3 versions of Hardcore Evo around 2010-2012 and they were the most lightweight skates I ever had and liked them for not professional marathons and etc. But at the end for slalom and one wheel tricks I preferred Igor model due to the best ankle support. But in Igor it’s even more robocop feeling than in SL :) If you change the carbon cuff to plastic one - you will have less ankle support and more freedom in case you need. In Evo’s it’s a plastic one as well.
@@TheMadHatter1330 and one more thing. FR Spin might be closer to Hardcore Evo in ankle support (lower plastic cuff), but not as light anyway. For recreational/city and sometimes slalom - nice.
@@Inmoveskates I purchased it off ebay and got a great deal. Sl 80's size 47 with the MPC wheels - £399, i put it on my watchlist, the sellar sends me an offer at £250, i purchased immediately, never really new what i was buying, assumed the SL stood for Super Light until they turned up haha, almost broke my arm trying to lift them out the bag 🤣 and they just look so bulky/chunky, especially down the inside. I will definitely get the plastic cuff and give that a go. Got them setup with a 283mm FR Freeride rockered 100-90mm, on Hydrogens, perfect frames for my big boots 🤓
I wonder how the fit of these changed over time as the padding packed out...if they were great fitting out of the box, maybe they became too loose over time?
Thank you! Good luck wit hit and you always can check our slalom video tutorials on TH-cam. And as the option, we have tutors from Belarus and other countries that can teach online via Zoom/Skype in English for a very good price (15 usd per hour for example. You can check imskates.com)
Nice! These look rapid, your feet looked free to fly in them! With all that carbon they must weigh next to nothing! I'll be looking for something to replace my old Seba FR1s next.
How does it fit ? I ordered the FR SL seven boots. size down to a 39 from a 40/40.5 (26cm by 10cm by the toe) usually hoping itll fit cause i have narrow heels. So i hipe its performance fit. Can someone share reference for fitting ? I really hope the 39 is the fit because they may not have the size i need in 40 (out of stock)
FR SL is hard to find in the USA right now. I believe most of the shops will have them around winter. But you can check other countries with a delivery to the USA.
It's hard to help this way... Better if you measure your foot without shoes. For example, I have 252mm foot and can use EU38 and EU39 in this model. The first one no comfort, but I can skate some hours, would use only for competitions. EU39 I have almost no space, but I feel that I can take a little smaller size. You can check a size chart on frskates com official website(check MM and what size it will be in EU). If to compare with usual freeride skates, I would say if you have EU40 FR1 skates for example, you can try EU39 for linerless model(like all FR carbon models) and then try EU40.
Hello, I"m discovering your channel and i liked your review very much. I have trouble seeing the difference between FR igors and FR Sls Boot. What is better in your opinion ? ( i will use them without the carbon frames at first) I do speed slalom, skatecross and lot of urban
Thank you for this informative review! :) How is the liner material compared to the FR Igor? Also between the FR Igor and the FR SL, does one have a wider/narrower fit then the other? Thanks in advance
Argh.... wish these weren't "integrated liner" skates. Basically means you have to throw out a skate that could last for years because the liner is worn, broken down, or has holes (like my Seba Trix). I want a skate that is "semi light" -- a carbon FR1 with a replaceable liner.
@Derek Simmons Man, D, you're just all over! EVENTUALLY I'll actually see you on the streets. And somehow I suspect it will be in the most unlikely place.
@Derek Simmons I totally get it man, I'm not really in a position to travel much either, but conveniently Philly and NYC are both pretty close to me and a short train ride away, so not very expensive and difficult. I just got back from the Big Apple Roll this past weekend, had a blast with all these great people and even started learning some slalom on Sunday in central park.
I have both the trinity mounting system and the FR mounting setup. Although the Trinity sits a bit lower and feels great I would not classify the FR system as being "Bad". In fact I prefer the 2 bolt mounting system when adjusting the larger wheel frames for pronation etc. You are severely limited in doing so with the trinity system. In fact if you look at some of the longer 125 mm Powerslide set-ups they actually attempt to compensate for the inability to adjust the frames in the design of the boot soles. This in itself is annoying if you do not have pronation as it results in supination. In short they both have their advantages.
The Trinity system is very good and I use it for my other pair of skates, but it's got plenty of flaws as well. Mainly you're stuck with Powerslide brand frames and the mounting "wings" don't allow for good positioning (I had to shave off metal to improve it on my frames) and the axles areas are not designed well and lead to broken axles. I own 5 pairs of Trinity frames and found minor issues with each of them. And lastly, the cool thing with the FR 2 point (165) system is that I get to use their carbon frames which are super amazing. No carbon frames for Trinity yet so I'm gonna enjoy the FRs while I wait :-)
They look like I would have to take out a loan to buy lol!
Oh, I thought the subway unboxing was great 😁
the guys next to him are like "WTF is this" HAHAHAH
Love Watching Your Awesome Moves on those Skates Man

You've got some good moves m8 !

The dudes in the background of the subway are just like "Is this dude really filming a whole vid on the subway?"

Hii guys!! does anyone know how much they weigh?
Can you heat mold them?
Больше всего доставляет наблюдать за реакцией пассажиров на распаковку в метро 😂
In Subway 😂😂😂
We have received skates and had a camera with us. So why not to start filming while we have 10 stops left :))
InMoveSkates times is money 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍

Sick!
I know you're a great skater, but I hope that 2nd boot has a break on it. 4-real! Be safe.
Okay, I see you! Maybe you don't need breaks on your skates. You go boyeee!
Real skaters don't need/use brakes. Brakes for freestyle skaters can be dangerous. We stop by sliding or power stopping.
Fajne :-)
Wow! He did this on the train smh lol
Too bad it’s the same bad high center of gravity two bolt mounting system.
