Also if I still need to send them my data, does that mean they should uninstall the mods or they can still keep them plus the installers
So yea, they need to uninstall all the mods they have. and then you will need to send the same data file you have ( the data file is basically all the mods organized ).

I can confirm the data folder method still works perfectly fine, Infact it actually fixed an issue i was having with a friend. I even just sent him the data folder that allows you to connect to the xeno servers with mods (To play online ofc)

I assume the data folder contains all the mods, so sending it is what makes the mods work.

You'll have to redo it, when you add new mods your data file is changing. so to have the same mods after you added new mods, redo it.
