Wow!! Great video, thank you!! 💗I live in Willow Creek & I send your videos to my brother in Southern California to entice him to visit! And it worked! He’s coming in August! 👍🏻 Been in WC for 5 yrs & haven’t taken those roads to Lord Ellis, been to a lot of out of the way roads but not those! ☺️ Thanks again for reminding me/us all.., that from time to time, you need to take the road less traveled!💕

I took a backroad from Arcata, and we ended up in Garberville. It's possible!

Another Great Video!! Thanks!! Even though I lived in Seattle for 40 years and climbed several peaks in the North Cascades, I had no idea that Humboldt was so “empty”…and I mean that in a very good way. 😎 Best of luck with your channel and business.

Humboldt is definitely one of the more isolated parts of California... redwood forest paradise.... that's why we love it here... thank you for watching... Dock

Loved this video, lived here most my life and have never been through there. I wonder why it's named lord Ellis?

Good question. According to one person: 'Lord & Ellis the two men who signed the petition to have the road constructed over the mountain. Construction was between 1880 -1890. Back in the day there used to be the hill climb.'
According to another source: 'Named for William Lord and a Mr. Ellis, the first two signers of the petition which brought about the building of the road over this pass. (US-T121)'

I was right, it would be an epic bike ride! Sadly I don't have the legs for it, so thanks for showing it to me. Any idea if old Highway 200 is driveable/rideable?
