Well I have saved up 1700 so far I can't decide what to do when I get to 2000 buy an xbox series x a ps 5 and a new TV or upgrade my PC and forego all the other stuff.... My current PC is 3 and half years old my TV is 11 years old lol.
@@iikraze6007 its a TINY TINY risk. And it will only change if you mess with the screws on the riser PCB. So if you havent touched the screws since initial installation, there is no more risk than before since the fire is caused by the screw hitting a specific angle with a specific rotation. But still, fire is a VERY bad fail state, even if 5 out of a million actually catch fire.
I like when Linus forgets something, because in a few weeks when everyone is building in this case, following linus step by step, they'll end up missing those parts too.
How many dozens of times has he done a complete build without ever posting? Literally dozens and several of them were for the world's most expensive builds, like when you went to a Circuit City...

Good idea but on my phone I get a very wonky sound which makes what he's saying not possible to understand in slowmo mode (and in fast play, the audio is skipping).

It's not though. It has nothing in common with the series x layout. This is just a vertical sandwich layout case. Like the Dancase A4 flipped on its rear, and that case has been available for like 3 years.
As someone who built a Phanteks Evolve Shift (glass panel), with a 2080Ti inside, there are several moments where you just have to stare at the case to figure out how to get the pieces in, and in what order to start with. That said, some of the gaps are paper-tight once cables are tied in, or even tighter. And it goes well above 50'c/90'f, as it needs to expel 200w or more of heat, even with a 140mm CPU radiator The other advantage of the Evolve Shift is it fits 140mm Corsair LL-RGB fans, which are mediocre for heat/performance, but you can illuminate the room with the front panel off for airflow.
I know right ive got small hands and i find at some times building in a micro ATX case cand get pretty dang cramped so mutch so i dont have my internall dvd drive hooked up right now
videos like this really help me to appreciate the amazing job they did designing and manufacturing my series X. its running everything i’ve thrown at it with zero trouble, all at 4k 60fps, dead silent, and for only $529 out of my pocket. i love pc gaming and the whole concept of building a gaming pc has always been interesting to me, but i dont have the time or knowledge to buy and assemble one properly, and i just feel more comfortable with a console. for that reason i love that microsoft has put near pc power into this little black monolith in my living room so i can play some of these massive new games from the comfort of my couch.

As a non novice this looked more complicated than a normal build. only because everything its so compact and it's hard to see what you're referring to.
compact pcs are really more complicated to begin with, I think nzxt just made it relatively simpler to fit components since this case is more like a template. but yeah, for a first time builder this is still quite daunting

@@solefreak2 hard to give a definitive answer to this cause it all depends on you, and your patience. Personally, I bought my console only for the exclusive, Horizon Zero Dawn, and recently it was released to pc. If there's a console exclusive game that you can't wait to play, you really don't have other options. Other than that, pc is the way to go especially if you're gonna do stuff other than gaming. You can build on a bigger case which makes things a little less complicated for a first time builder.
That PC is in the ball park of about 2000$ more like, the previous generations fastest CPU for gaming and the previous generations higher end midrange gpu, with an extremely expensive nvme drive and high ended itx motherboard, not to mention that case alone with the cooler and psu is 350.
@@mrmidnight32 Id say so at the moment, Microsoft and Sony are taking losses on these consoles in manufacturing, they are a good buy! Obviously as PC hardware progresses and leaves consoles behind in the coming years the rhetoric will change.
But in order to do a proper highlights video they would have to go through all of their footage including stuff that wasn't released, and surely there's no way they are keeping all raw footage of a 5-vid-a-week release schedule! I’ve been building PCs for years and this case has caught my attention because of the ease of building and pre managed cables. The thermals are better than a lot of ATX cases too! All with a single 140mm fan no less. Super clean chassis too, love the sharp angles and the small desk footprint.

using a million cables always looks overwhelming i wish pci express was enough i wish the motherboard didn't require any extra cables i don't get why thats a must
teh gpu linus used requires more power thant the motherbaord can provide, so it needs another cable coming from the psu to power it. But there are gpus that don't need that and can just be plugged on the mobo and then ready to go.
It's a decent enough case, I've just built two for the kids (revised version with plastic screws). What was shoddy was initial NZXT response to GPU riser issue called our by Steve @ GN; that pressure has finally turned into a full recall. If you're a half-competent DIY builder (vs a BLD prebuilt customer with no tech knowledge), NZXT will send out a new design PCIE 3.0 riser AND plastic screw set, rather than having to return it. Thus far, I was impressed with simplicity of build, pre-managed cables made it all very easy (the kids basically built them with my supervision). Thermals are good on a Ryzen 3600 with a 1660 Super, but note that you can mod them to add extra fans internally on rear to help with exhaust on hotter graphics cards (which I'll probably do at some point). The bottom IO is a bit annoying but neat at least and you can always add a USB hub for extra accessible ports (it only has a single USB C and USB 3.0 on the top). In summary it's a nice case, just a shame NZXT didn't take riser issue seriously enough at first as they've alienated a fair few users with their initial response...
The CPU used alone is likely to be most of the price of the Series X :^) So yea... A rysen 5 3600 and a GTX1660Ti or something would have been a better fit.
They have NAS where they have predownloaded all the games they want to test. Then they just move the games from the NAS to the computer via Gigabit ethernet aka 100MB/s

In one of his videos he explains that the file server has a bunch of NVMEs in raid configuration so that's why the transfer rate is so fast.
I've never had anything go right if I put the side panel on before a test. Bad GPU, unplugged CPU fan, bad BIOS, garbage audio, you name it. Some of those weren't even fixable after swapping half the components (swapped the GPU, MB and CPU, and the audio is still utter shite, with my mouse movements leaking into the audio jacks)
Friend of mine has an H1 Build, he actually drilled a 3" hole in his Table for the Cables to go trough. There are Literally no Cables going to and coming from the PC on his Desk. Clean af

@@wafflesdadapon9318 in raw power, considering no IPC increase from a 5700XT which it shares a revised architecture with, it should be around 24% faster than a 5700XT, which puts it in 2080 performance numbers. This was confirmed in a Digital Foundry analysis video, where Gears 5 4k maxed out was giving the same framerate as an RTX 2080 The PS5 however is somewhere between a 5700 and 5700XT. It is basically a really overclocked 5700 since it shares CUs and shader cores and everything. This puts it in basically the same level of performance a 2060 Super We've yet to see about the ray tracing performance, however.
Looks really simple, but that kind of case is hard for people with big hands plus personally I like to have a bit more room to play with, so to speak!!! ;)

As a non novice this looked more complicated than a normal build. only because everything its so compact and it's hard to see what you're referring to.
compact pcs are really more complicated to begin with, I think nzxt just made it relatively simpler to fit components since this case is more like a template. but yeah, for a first time builder this is still quite daunting

@@solefreak2 hard to give a definitive answer to this cause it all depends on you, and your patience. Personally, I bought my console only for the exclusive, Horizon Zero Dawn, and recently it was released to pc. If there's a console exclusive game that you can't wait to play, you really don't have other options. Other than that, pc is the way to go especially if you're gonna do stuff other than gaming. You can build on a bigger case which makes things a little less complicated for a first time builder.
In other words: “How to build a $500 console for $999”
That PC is in the ball park of about 2000$ more like, the previous generations fastest CPU for gaming and the previous generations higher end midrange gpu, with an extremely expensive nvme drive and high ended itx motherboard, not to mention that case alone with the cooler and psu is 350.

I’ve been building PCs for years and this case has caught my attention because of the ease of building and pre managed cables. The thermals are better than a lot of ATX cases too! All with a single 140mm fan no less. Super clean chassis too, love the sharp angles and the small desk footprint.

This is honestly one of the first small form factor PC's that doesn't look like a complete pain to build in. Price is actually pretty fair for everything included.

teh gpu linus used requires more power thant the motherbaord can provide, so it needs another cable coming from the psu to power it. But there are gpus that don't need that and can just be plugged on the mobo and then ready to go.

It's a decent enough case, I've just built two for the kids (revised version with plastic screws). What was shoddy was initial NZXT response to GPU riser issue called our by Steve @ GN; that pressure has finally turned into a full recall. If you're a half-competent DIY builder (vs a BLD prebuilt customer with no tech knowledge), NZXT will send out a new design PCIE 3.0 riser AND plastic screw set, rather than having to return it. Thus far, I was impressed with simplicity of build, pre-managed cables made it all very easy (the kids basically built them with my supervision). Thermals are good on a Ryzen 3600 with a 1660 Super, but note that you can mod them to add extra fans internally on rear to help with exhaust on hotter graphics cards (which I'll probably do at some point). The bottom IO is a bit annoying but neat at least and you can always add a USB hub for extra accessible ports (it only has a single USB C and USB 3.0 on the top).
In summary it's a nice case, just a shame NZXT didn't take riser issue seriously enough at first as they've alienated a fair few users with their initial response...

They have NAS where they have predownloaded all the games they want to test. Then they just move the games from the NAS to the computer via Gigabit ethernet aka 100MB/s

In one of his videos he explains that the file server has a bunch of NVMEs in raid configuration so that's why the transfer rate is so fast.

I've never had anything go right if I put the side panel on before a test. Bad GPU, unplugged CPU fan, bad BIOS, garbage audio, you name it. Some of those weren't even fixable after swapping half the components (swapped the GPU, MB and CPU, and the audio is still utter shite, with my mouse movements leaking into the audio jacks)

@@wafflesdadapon9318 in raw power, considering no IPC increase from a 5700XT which it shares a revised architecture with, it should be around 24% faster than a 5700XT, which puts it in 2080 performance numbers. This was confirmed in a Digital Foundry analysis video, where Gears 5 4k maxed out was giving the same framerate as an RTX 2080
The PS5 however is somewhere between a 5700 and 5700XT. It is basically a really overclocked 5700 since it shares CUs and shader cores and everything. This puts it in basically the same level of performance a 2060 Super
We've yet to see about the ray tracing performance, however.
