- The slurry paddle broke so the slurry was not mixing. This then leads to the slurry becoming very thick when its pumped into the lagoon. Only one job for it!

Ha ha Tom, you get all the best jobs. Reminded me of something when I was about your age. I was told to go to the cad yard and weld the steam pipe on top of the boiler. Only they sent me with the Oxy welding kit. If they'd have let me look, I'd have taken the stick welder (no mig then, well for us) So there I was gagging, trying to weld this thick pipe. I'll leave the rest to your imagination lol.

I would have been a good idea to give the linkage and the motor a scrub with a yard brush too, It would have been a great idea to have a mobile gas monitor on you incase you disturbed methane while you did your little dance, a harness with a winch incase that happened, suppose you don't have a confined space work ticket either. I'm not giving out, its just all the things you needed to help you safe really.
Ha ha. I get all the s@#t jobs too! Luckily our pump is tractor mounted so can just be lifted out. Great stuff Tom! 🐮

you could drill a little hole in the heald of the bolt and little hole in the the threds blow where the nut goes on and run a wire in both and twist it up and it will help if it ever breaks so it will still work even if the bolt breaks
Everybody has said it before. Ammonia in the manure slurry is a serious killer! Even after this job you can fall down and never get up! Be precious with life lad and take some safety measures!

You have that built in, before we got the new tractor we had to spend a few days agitating and the spread the slurry, then take of the tanker then put the agitator on and agitate it but then you need more water so you take off the agitator then put the tanker on then go down to the river for some water then put it in the take the tanker off then put the agitator on then agitate and repeat the cycle
engine adrenaline oh wow, that's sounds like a lot of work. This system works well and doesn't leave as much thick stuff at the bottom

We use an old paddle mixer and it gets really bouncy when there's silage in the slurry

MY dad and my brother did this once I was helping attatch the pipe to the slurry spreader (Yes I call it that). The hole was literally almost as deep as a small lake and the slurry was up to there hips!

John Mullan it's is but I made sure the pit was empty, I have at least one person with me at all times and it's a very open pit. So the gasses are a lot less

LOl, I'm not exactly doing everyday, lol. I know One Lonely FArmer posts nearly everyday and he has FOUR channels! (two that I know of). Yeah it's a lot of busting my butt but (lots of butts!) it's slowly paying off. I didn't get a video out today as I am playing catchup on home stuff (like groceries, lol) and the hardest part is uploading. Our upload speed is 0.3 mg here :( We are too far from town for higher speed internet.
