    That's ridicules after only 5 yrs you have to replace all that just for a seal leak. I just replaced my whirlpool stack I've had since 1997 and that's just cause it was old and small. Thanks for the video. No problems with my GE (it's only 6 months old), just interesting to watch and learn. You never know.

    I have one of these with the model number GTUP270EM3WW. When I type it into the GE's website I don't see a full tub assembly for my unit. Am I missing something? Do you know if this assembly for the washer "3WW" would work for the unit I have?

Hoping to confirm, since I need to remove a doorframe and partial wall if I replace the entire machine.

    So I just bought this same exact model. I was very surprised to see ur video and how you talked about all these same models have the same problem. Well guess what ? My washer is leaking also. And my tub is a little more loose than I have noticed on a different washer. It seems like it is, I could be wrong tho. I guess I'm looking to see if my problem is the same as in this video. So how would I notice or inspect my unit so that I could diagnose my unit?? Any tips that I could do so that I don't have to find a repair person. Also I was told this model was from 2018. That's was another lie told by the seller of this. I mean come on.

    • @ApartmentMaintenancePro
      @ApartmentMaintenancePro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can get the front panel off (assuming it’s a similar model) look towards the middle of the drum and look for rust/water marks. If it’s just banging around it could be an uneven load or snapped band/spring. Best thing to do without doing anything technical is to run an empty load and see if you have the same problem

    • @ApartmentMaintenancePro
      @ApartmentMaintenancePro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My old boss complained about that because we ordered that 20 dollar basket and it came in. I tried to remove the transmission from the basket to replace the seal, so far as to placing it on wood and using a sledge hammer to displace it from the cheap plastic tub. No luck, We called a GE technician in to teach us how and he said 'no' I can't even do that. So, can it be done? Maybe, I haven't been able to or know anyone else thats been able to swap out a basket (on this particular model that is)

      Ours was leaking but it wasn't what we thought... The spout where the water fills the tub was clogged with calcium and deflecting water out of the tub, so it was being sprayed on the outside of the tub causing it to run down and create a puddle on our floor towards the back.. My step son found the problem and cleaned the calcium deposit off now the washer works fine.

    • @ApartmentMaintenancePro

      Most people wouldn’t opt to pay for this repair. Tub and transmission are$500-700, add in another $300 or so for labor and you have a new washer or used one with a warranty. So, not sure why you are so upset. This is just a video of myself making a repair, not diy advice, or anything like that.
