Every video I watch of the installations always shows after you set up the pulleys, set the tension springs and remove the vise grips you push the door up with little effort. When I was resetting up my pulleys and redoing the tension springs and remove the vise grips and try to lift up the door it won't move up. What might be the issue? I have followed all the same steps your video showed but know luck.. I also have the door opener in the detached mode. I'm really confused. Great video and a great learning technique. Thanks
Our garage has started. It is similar to this one. It's 24'X30' with 8ft walls and a 4:20 pitch roof. The garage door will be 18'X7' and we were going to use 2, 2X10's as a header but the builder thought it would eventually sag. He wants to use 2X12's. It will go all the way to the top plate. What do you use? Any suggestions? Thank you
Do u have a video on the necessary spacing for the tracks on the sides? I have a 16ft door. The rough opening is 16 ft. I plan to trim it out after the door is installed.
I've never installed a garage door, so this is very interesting to me. You made it look easy.
Great job. My door company installed 16 x 7 door for me. I watched and learned.
Nice

If it’s a torsion spring you may not have the correct number of winds.

We are using using tripled 1 3/4 x 9 3/4 lvl’s now when it’s a bearing wall for trusses with a 16’ span.
@@kenskarpentry Thank you, just texted the builder and told him I wanted to go with LVL boards.
Which do you like 16X7 or two 9X7 garage doors?
I like both. It’s really homeowner preference

When you frame the opening for these doors what is the final opening for each type of Garage door.
Rough framing is the actual door size 16' x 7' finished opening is 15'10 1/2" x 6'11 1/4"
I have the same size door. Mine has double tracks at the curve for some reason.
Sometimes they use double tracks if it’s low head room.
Where can I buy the panels ? I mean I need 2 16 x7 panels
An overhead door company might be able to order them for you
