Good vid. I' wish the video started off first with "what NOT to do when removing a garage door. I've got a single garage door that hasn't been used in 30 years and the company I asked quoted $300 to remove and take away the pieces so my friend wants to hire him because so I won't hurt myself in my FREE attempt. The contractor said that many people get hurt by the high tension springs. But my demolition thought was to go "medeival" on the garage door, with a reciprocating saw just cutting the door out so it falls off the rail. Then...maybe disconnect the electronic part and unscrew the railings. But apparently I won't have the pleasure or risk of doing it this time...so I'll watch the rest of this video for sh*d and giggles and a bag of popcorn.
Once I drove straight threw a door with plow rig.... didn't remotely have the result i was thinking.. just a truck tangled in a 16ft door with lit torsion..
+Carter Lyons the plans on on this app called scibt... type in 9mm bullet hose plans. ... there's tons òf other cool ones to but the hose is the best to start out on and it the meanest
@@AllanHart I just did this a few minutes ago by myself too. I didn't undo the hinges because I'm reusing the garage door. If you're totally disposing of the door then you will keep nothing. Seriously, loosening the springs is a dangerous thing, you need to have the right tool, round rod that fits in the holes and you need two of them. When doing this you must make sure the tool fits into the hole all the way, if it slips it can break your wrist or throw the other one in your face. I don't do this for a living but every now and then I find I do this sort of thing. Anyway, wear eye protection too and do it slow and take your time. Looks like you did a good job, be safe.
I had a sweet torsion winding tool with a break away gear that would clasp were the winding bars go. Then it had a worn drive you put a screw gun on to wind and unwind.. it was so fast. One of my guys lost the gear and the company went under
If no ones home I cut the cables in the closed position on the first section.. its loud but it superfast and keeps me away from getting whipped with frayed cables.. cutting cables close to the spools will sting

Who’s tryna see this?
Me. Now i have an idea on how to disassemble my garage door
The feds had a melt down over the Mac 10 I made out of scrap. That's prolly why
Well aren't you resourceful.
You don't explain anything you're doing and you have had to know the lighting isn't enough.
Well im shocked.. your the first guy to point that out.. might be because for some awful reason I loose view if I erase it

@@AllanHartwhy can't you open the door all the way and then cut the cables when all the energy is released?
Terrible video, doesn’t give explanations of what he’s doing, poor lighting and you can’t really seen what he’s doing in the beginning of the video 👎
He's on drugs too lol
Yup
