No they shouldn't strike. Got a degree, was head of department in a school and still my pay was 20k less than train drivers, AND couple that with some students who were not best pleased to be in school. So no.
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne yep. Always late to my pickup station by about 20 minutes then stops just before my drop off station waiting for the platforms to clear of other trains. This is usually every night
Sorry, they are on good pay, I worked in the industry for nearly 50 years as a qualified engineer on £25 grand a year less than a train driver. They actually drive a train for only 60% of their shift on average. The can earn over £65 grand easily. Good luck to them , but don't be greedy guys . You have it made.
These drivers were on £50000 20 years ago. £50000 for driving a train today is more than enough. How can they warrant this obscene salary of £70000, compare this to a nurse. Disgraceful.
I went to take the train yesterday for a twenty mile journey. On strike so I took the bus. It took a little longer, but made a saving of five quid. So have decided from now on to get up a little bit earlier and save myself some money.
Even on a none strike day's, the trains are either cancelled or delayed, and when you finally get on a train its so full and compacted that you're squashed against another passenger or you are having to sit on the floor sometimes outside the toilets.
It's great that we all believe that we need to query train drivers earnings, whist the real issue, the richest exploiting us and the system, to get richer, is being ignored. We're crabs in a bucket and it's only really beneficial to those paying the salaries and creaming more profits because we're arguing the salaries should be kept lower. Tell me, you think you're paying that much to ride a train because of salaries? Really? Yet Ryan air can fly you cheaper, paying pilots and crews more? Wske up. The media are sturring us to infight about the scraps for a reason.

That’s why the railways are in a state and that’s why they want to cut more money out of it. If the money went towards the infrastructure and staff instead of offshore bank accounts and shareholders you would have a functioning railway where staff weren’t on strike and it would function properly. I don’t suppose this. It’s simply an objective reality. Have a nice day.
We're all busy quarrelling with each other, accusing each other of greed and entitlement, when in reality, we're squabbling over the scraps as those that are really greedy have distanced themselves from the debate. We're crabs in a barrel.
Should think they don't need one 65 grand a year, 4 day week plus overtime. Jesus if only I could earn that amount of money it would change my family's life. Greedy f
Good on them what most workers get in a year the company boss will earn in 3 days. About time people standing upto poor wages for high skilled and high risk jobs.
Can we sign a petition for these train drivers to be sacked if they strike these greedy scum are planning more strikes in May when they already have good pay
Consistently providing a sub par service, with delays or cancellations and yet we are still expected to pay more through inflation each year. Absolute disgrace, all of them.
Do you support strikes by train drivers?
Absolutely… Fuck the Tories 🖕

The first sensible comment I’ve read on Talk Tv… well done to you, that is indeed the problem.
Spot on
Bang on
Government keep putting up train tickets by 6-9% a year but not passing any of that on to the people who run the railway.

Everyone who is leaving an angry comment about the strike is just jealous their union is not as strong 😂
I've been on the same rate for 20 years, to be honest i thought they were already on strike. My train is half hour late 95% of the time
"My train is half an hour late 95% of the time" What a load of lies. What line/route? Come on, back up your statement.
