Not recasting Black Panther because Chadwick passed away would be like never recasting Superman because Reeve passed away. They will both always be the first movie portrayals and will be the example to strive for. I would rather see the character thrive instead of being shelved for sentimental reasons.

The end credit scean shows that tachalla had a kid at the end of the movie named tachalla Jr. There is no reason to recast him. The kid can just grow up, take his rightful place as king in his blood right.

Yes, this is terrific. They honored Chaswick‘s memory, and then they recognize the powerful presence of T’Challa the character. The audience has already been primed to accept crossover varients. And in this next, reset would definitely be open and even excited to see T’Challa again played by another actor, casting being of the utmost importance, of course.

You ever consider that maybe they looked into it and reached out to some actors but like now, were getting turned down because maybe the actors did not feel comfortable with taking on that role out of respect for Chadwick? I think now that we had our time to grieve Chadwick Boseman, it is time to recast T'Challa. I really believe that Damson Idris from Snow Fall would be an excellent choice. He's chocolate fine as hell, an excellent actor, has roots from Ghana(I think) and has that African King swag that is so much needed to carry this roll. Damson Idris is it for me.

I guess Gamora kind of counts, but she wasn't brought back to life and is a past version of the Gamora who was killed and is still dead. They COULD make the T'Challa be the 616 T'Challs who died, but it will more than likely be a variant who will become the 616 Black Panther going forward..
They should treat T'Challa's son like Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Z. Have a multiversal variant that comes from the future and is the Black Panther in that Universe, he then sticks around to protect his younger Variant and Wakanda
The only person I see playing the BP the way I and others would appreciate, is Damson Idris, the Snowfall star. He could elevate that part to a new level.
He is great, but I think Al Hodge fits a little better. He's had a lot more roles that have similar to a lot of other roles Chadwick had, plus they did Al kinda dirty writing him off of Agents of Sheild so abruptly and hardly mentioned his characters death after the fact. Before Captain America: Brave New World Ross made 2 appearances in the MCU as a whole. (Technically 4 if you wanna count his two brief cameos in infinity war and endgame). T’Challa was a big character who was A) going to have a big role in the future of the MCU going forward and B) portrayed by a beloved actor. Recasting a relatively minor charter who barely shows up and a leading character are 2 very different tasks.
I need the recast to actually be T'Challa and not an aged up Toussaint. They would never attempt to recast any other superhero with an OC that's supposed to the hero's child.
It would have the same history behind it that it did in the comics. In the comics you had the story where almost killed T'Challa and tried to frame Namor and Atlantis and then the "Doom War" story. The two characters had a well established history with each other before "Secret Wars".

The best way to reintroduce T'Challa would be in FF: First Steps. We know they're from another universe and they'll make their way over to the sacred timeline, bring their universe's T'Challa along with them. It would be a awesome callback to the comics, since the Black Panther was first shown in a FF comic.
How does this make sense story wise. Is it really just a multiverse variant being put in the mcu? It's sad that they had to look into recasting heros using the multiverse as a way justifying a recast. Even though i like the idea of dr doom being played by Robert Downey Jr. It just feels weird as a long time marvel fan to see him be a villain or a new actor for Tchalla when they already anounced his death in Wakanda Forever.
I don't think they should recast T'Challa. If they were going to do that then they should have done it after he passed away, but as I previously stated, I don't think an actor would have wanted to do that so soon after he died, given the timeframe that they wanted to do the film. I think they should stick with his son. I don't think it has to be a 15 year time jump to utilize his son, they could do a situation where he is very young, like a young teenager at first, like in the comics how they did with Azari, the son of Black Panther and Storm. Then we can see him age up from there. We could have years of Black Panther. Taking T'Challa from another universe and plugging him into the 616 when everyone knows the 616 T'Challa is dead, just seems to complicated. It is like you said, they simply had given T'Challa a son. It seems that they had young T'Challa, shortly after the events of the first film, so he would have been born in 2017, so when Shuri meets him, he is like 8 years old. I think they should just stick with that. It makes the most since and you don't necessarily have to wait 15 years. He was 8 in Wakanda Forever, the time in the MCU over the next few years is probably going to cover the years of 2026 through 2028, maybe even up to 2030 (End Game was in 2019 and had us in the year 2023). If that is the case for this ending, by the end of Secret Wars, young T'Challa could be like 12 or 13 years old, so with Black Panther 4, he could be like 15 years old by the time that film comes out in like 2032, 5 years, not 15 after the events of Secret Wars.

As a fan of the comics, the movies, and the work of all the actors involved this just feels like a huge slap in the face. Hopefully the script is amazing and not a lazy "because of the multi verse" reasoning.

For a long time I was on the side of never recasting Chadwick Boseman's variant of Black Panther, but this may be a way to go forward and still acknowledge what came before and have T'challa as Black Panther. As for actors I am not sure, but I saw a random comment somewhere and it may be crazy to refer to it but "Kendrick Lamar is a better actor than a singer" Idk if I agree with it as I haven't seen him act yet, but there it is until I can think of others.
When they leak "this could be happening", it probably means it already has happened. That made me think. I was surprised to hear Denzel Washington signed on for BP 3, because he's turned down many comics roles. Denzel probably would've loved to play the iconic BP in his younger years. What if Denzel is playing a T'Chakka variant handing down the BP mantle to variant T'Challa, played by his own son John David Washington? John would be a great choice & it would explain why Denzel would finally agree to be in a comics movie just before retiring. Denzel would get to actually be the older BP, handing the iconic role down to his son, in the movie & IRL. That would be an amazing heart-warming story for the ad campaign. (They could also bring back Angela Bassett as a variant & get a new Shuri variant.
My 3 choices have been: Aldis Hodge - an established T'Challa Damson Idris - younger but not a rookie T'Challa Martin Bobb-Semple - rookie T'Challa All are really good actors but Chadwick is big shoes to fill like the actor that turned it down said (I have a feeling it was Aldis who is already working on the Cross series).

Bro you're speaking for nobody here, everyone liked Shuri's character back in the first Black Panther movie, and it was as clear as the sun that she was just a temporary black panther in the second one, did you even watch the movie? I am very intrigued by this. I think they did the best they could in Wakanda Forever, I love that movie, but going forward, this might be the best option. Now there can be two Black Panthers, which was the plan from the beginning. Now I want to see a list of the possible recast options.
The multiverse is the perfect segue to transition variants of many fallen Marvel heroes and villains. Hence, the potential reports of this "soft reboot". This may work, but I worry about the impact this possibility brings for the long run. They need to briefly touch up on the background of this variant T'Challa and where he's coming from; the emotional front this version is coming up against. Secret Wars and Doomsday is going to be a massive event for everyone!
This is a very important recast and it's a small pool of actors that could pull it off and if I had a choice it would be between Kofi Siriboe(Queen of Sugar), Y'lan Noel(The First Purge), Damson Idris(Snowfall) and Sope' Dirisu(Gangs of London)
I like Aldis Hodge. Been big on him since Leverage. It sucked that he got pulled into the DCEU when it was all but falling apart. He is actually someone I would want to stick around for a while so I would rather he play a character that will be here for the long haul.

T’Challa was a big character who was A) going to have a big role in the future of the MCU going forward and B) portrayed by a beloved actor. Recasting a relatively minor charter who barely shows up and a leading character are 2 very different tasks.
While I agree that he should've been recast, this comparison is not a good one. Ross is a minor character in comparison to T'Challa.
“The Black Panther Pit”, which ever black panther survives becomes the prime black panther.
I need the recast to actually be T'Challa and not an aged up Toussaint. They would never attempt to recast any other superhero with an OC that's supposed to the hero's child.

It would have the same history behind it that it did in the comics. In the comics you had the story where almost killed T'Challa and tried to frame Namor and Atlantis and then the "Doom War" story. The two characters had a well established history with each other before "Secret Wars".

The best way to reintroduce T'Challa would be in FF: First Steps. We know they're from another universe and they'll make their way over to the sacred timeline, bring their universe's T'Challa along with them. It would be a awesome callback to the comics, since the Black Panther was first shown in a FF comic.

How does this make sense story wise. Is it really just a multiverse variant being put in the mcu? It's sad that they had to look into recasting heros using the multiverse as a way justifying a recast. Even though i like the idea of dr doom being played by Robert Downey Jr. It just feels weird as a long time marvel fan to see him be a villain or a new actor for Tchalla when they already anounced his death in Wakanda Forever.
I don't think they should recast T'Challa. If they were going to do that then they should have done it after he passed away, but as I previously stated, I don't think an actor would have wanted to do that so soon after he died, given the timeframe that they wanted to do the film. I think they should stick with his son. I don't think it has to be a 15 year time jump to utilize his son, they could do a situation where he is very young, like a young teenager at first, like in the comics how they did with Azari, the son of Black Panther and Storm. Then we can see him age up from there. We could have years of Black Panther. Taking T'Challa from another universe and plugging him into the 616 when everyone knows the 616 T'Challa is dead, just seems to complicated. It is like you said, they simply had given T'Challa a son. It seems that they had young T'Challa, shortly after the events of the first film, so he would have been born in 2017, so when Shuri meets him, he is like 8 years old. I think they should just stick with that. It makes the most since and you don't necessarily have to wait 15 years. He was 8 in Wakanda Forever, the time in the MCU over the next few years is probably going to cover the years of 2026 through 2028, maybe even up to 2030 (End Game was in 2019 and had us in the year 2023). If that is the case for this ending, by the end of Secret Wars, young T'Challa could be like 12 or 13 years old, so with Black Panther 4, he could be like 15 years old by the time that film comes out in like 2032, 5 years, not 15 after the events of Secret Wars.

As a fan of the comics, the movies, and the work of all the actors involved this just feels like a huge slap in the face. Hopefully the script is amazing and not a lazy "because of the multi verse" reasoning.

For a long time I was on the side of never recasting Chadwick Boseman's variant of Black Panther, but this may be a way to go forward and still acknowledge what came before and have T'challa as Black Panther. As for actors I am not sure, but I saw a random comment somewhere and it may be crazy to refer to it but "Kendrick Lamar is a better actor than a singer" Idk if I agree with it as I haven't seen him act yet, but there it is until I can think of others.

When they leak "this could be happening", it probably means it already has happened. That made me think. I was surprised to hear Denzel Washington signed on for BP 3, because he's turned down many comics roles. Denzel probably would've loved to play the iconic BP in his younger years. What if Denzel is playing a T'Chakka variant handing down the BP mantle to variant T'Challa, played by his own son John David Washington? John would be a great choice & it would explain why Denzel would finally agree to be in a comics movie just before retiring. Denzel would get to actually be the older BP, handing the iconic role down to his son, in the movie & IRL. That would be an amazing heart-warming story for the ad campaign. (They could also bring back Angela Bassett as a variant & get a new Shuri variant.

Aldis Hodge - an established T'Challa
Damson Idris - younger but not a rookie T'Challa
Martin Bobb-Semple - rookie T'Challa
All are really good actors but Chadwick is big shoes to fill like the actor that turned it down said (I have a feeling it was Aldis who is already working on the Cross series).
They're doing this because they know that literally no one liked shuri as black panther 😂 no one even liked her as a character in the first place and then randomly having her take up the mantle of black panther was just infuriating

I am very intrigued by this. I think they did the best they could in Wakanda Forever, I love that movie, but going forward, this might be the best option. Now there can be two Black Panthers, which was the plan from the beginning. Now I want to see a list of the possible recast options.

The multiverse is the perfect segue to transition variants of many fallen Marvel heroes and villains. Hence, the potential reports of this "soft reboot". This may work, but I worry about the impact this possibility brings for the long run. They need to briefly touch up on the background of this variant T'Challa and where he's coming from; the emotional front this version is coming up against. Secret Wars and Doomsday is going to be a massive event for everyone!
This is a very important recast and it's a small pool of actors that could pull it off and if I had a choice it would be between Kofi Siriboe(Queen of Sugar), Y'lan Noel(The First Purge), Damson Idris(Snowfall) and Sope' Dirisu(Gangs of London)

I like Aldis Hodge. Been big on him since Leverage. It sucked that he got pulled into the DCEU when it was all but falling apart. He is actually someone I would want to stick around for a while so I would rather he play a character that will be here for the long haul.

I applauded Marvel's decision to not recast Chadwick Boseman's Tchalla at the moment, however always stated that they should recast it going forward because the story is based off of Chadwick boseman's love for the character and he would have wanted the character to go on and that is the best way to honor someone
Casting someone as a new variance of this character in the multi verse. I think, could make the role more comfortable for a new actor also. So I think it'll be good if they go that way.
