Whoa, thank you man, I really appreciate that! (btw, Keith is actually a great friend of mine, I played guest solos on a couple of his solo albums, and we wrote and released an album together called Demisery)
@@GordOlson Anytime! You deserve it, you're a great player. Rad, I'll hunt that album down! Keith seems like a really chill guy. Great taste in guitars too, I have a first Gen and Mark III KM-7 that I love to pieces.
Got these pickups for my seven. Haven't installed yet. But this video makes me inspired again and again. Your playing is awesome mate. Thanks. I will gladly get myself a copy of the album 🤘
Hey Gord met you and your dog yesterday...I'm the guy with the little dashie. Nice stuff Bro. I am subscribed and will have questions from time to time about gear and stuff if that's OK
Thanks! I am involved in a couple of bands. I do vocals and lead guitar in Ye Goat-Herd Gods, and our second album is about to drop. I've also been a member of Divinity for a year now, and working on new material with them as well.
@@gibson381 I tested them both, and under high gain I honestly didn't notice any appreciable difference. They both are fantastic pickups! On clean tones is where I could hear the difference between them. Not huge, but the alnico is a bit more full spectrum sounding, with a rounded tone, and the ceramic sounds a bit more scooped and chimey. So if you do clean tones, you may need to consider that, but otherwise, take your pick. They're both awesome.
I've been following the Black Heaven demos and this is the best of them by far. You gave a great impression of both rythm, lead and clean tones this pickup can deliver. Really great song and playing too. Good work! By the way, is this the Ceramic version?
Jonas Hjälmén Thank you so much! This is actually the Alnico version here. I made a separate video that Lundgren will be releasing in the next few days that also has some isolated A/B clips between the Alnico and Ceramic versions, so keep an eye on their channel for that. Thanks for watching!
Thanks man! No I picked up a Helix Rack and really like it a lot! Kemper has been collecting dust so I'm going to sell it. Been using real amps a lot more as well lately!
At first I thought you were playing through a Kemper as usual but it was a Helix! Damn if it sounds that good and definitive I must have one. The Kemper seemed like a little too expensive to me after all.
Great playing! What do you think of the neck pickups - black heaven vs m6? Looked at your demo of m6, bh here seems to sound a lot more open and natural
Hello Gord, I was just wondering, which pup do you like better? M series or Black Heaven? I had an Agile with an M8 and it was the thickest, heaviest, and had the most sustain I’ve ever heard! Are the black heaven on par or better in your opinion? Thanks man, and great playing!!
Tonally, they aren't much different to be honest. Maybe a little bit in the mids, but the difference in the sound is small. The big difference in them is the feel. The M's are very hard and percussive feeling... unforgiving. Cold and clinical, in an awesome way! The Black Heaven has a more forgiving feel, maybe a little lower output, a little easier to control. Less clinical, just feels a little easier. Warmer clean tones, maybe a little more fun to play on. You can be a little more relaxed, whereas the M makes me feel like I have to have my game face on at all times! I love both of them, to be honest, I can't say that I prefer one over the other. They are kind of like two shades of the same color. haha Not sure that helps, but that's my impression of them!
Gord Olson That actually helps a ton!! So from what you said the m would be my choice for a bridge pup, and the black heaven my choice for a smoother neck pup sound!! Thanks a million for the reply!! I really appreciate your input.. keep rocking man!!
How do the Black Heavens compare to the M7? Tightness, output, string clarity, etc? I just bought a multi-scale and every guitar I own will have Lundgren's, after putting the M7 in my Jackson Misha I'm sold. Just keep hearing about this model a lot. Thanks much 💜👍
Black Heavens are my favorite overall, they are a little more versatile I think. The M's are tighter, more dry, and a little grainier in nature. Black Heaven saturates a little more, and is a bit looser in feel. For tone, they both sound very similar, the biggest difference is feel imo. That being said, I absolutely love both sets, and use them both regularly. Both have amazing clarity and articulation, and both are not actually that hot, in terms of output. They sound very aggressive, but the actual output isn't that high, which I love, it makes them very versatile with clean tones as well.
@@GordOlson well great stuff dude! I wish I made more vids or TH-cam payd more so you'd have more of an Incentive to do more videos because they are high quality as fuckk
This is the Alnico version. I made a second video for Lundgren though as well, that has A/B comparisons of both versions at the end. That video is on Lundgren's youtube channel. Cheers!
You are seriously up there with Wes Hauch, Keith Merrow and Alex Skolnick.
I cannot believe how underrated you are, your playing is incredible!

The pickups are probably great but to be honest, I am here more for the music. Always inspiring!
Came here for the pickups, stayed for the song. Everything about this slaps so hard. Oioioioi
Thanks man!! Oioioi!
Yes, finally another good one. Where you been at? More, always need more, lol. Thank You!
Thanks! Where have I been? I don't know, exactly. A dark place. Gonna try to climb out and make a video a little more often though.
Great melodic playing! Refreshing to see... Thanks
Thank you!
Fuck yeah!!! New video!!! Sounds so sick gord! Keep it up!!
this demo is sick! kinda feels like Mastodon if they had blastbeats every now and then. great stuff. Those pickups sound really good too
you rock, Bro!
So sick man! You need to do more.
Dat solo part! Well done sir & hails from TR!
Thank you! Cheers!
Damn long time no see great vid
Wow that solo on 2:51 gaves me chills! Killer tone mate!
Thank you!
That was ridiculous! Absolutely incredible tone, and extremely articulate technique!!! Love it. 🔥🔥🔥

Never heard of these pickups until today, so this demo is fantastic. I will likely throw these on one of my new builds. Love the tone!
Thanks, glad you found it! Lundgren make the best pickups I have ever played, no doubt about it!
Killer demo! Do you have any plans of releasing the music you write for these demos? It's top notch!
Thanks man! Yeah I've been wanting to re-record all these songs and put them on an album or something... hopefully I can get on that sometime!
Please do! I am a big fan of your style of writing.
Man this sounds excellent!
Welcome back :-)
Thank you :)
Awesome!!! brilliant videos!
Great playing and great song !
That tone!
Nice work!!
Great job as usual.
Awesome 👍

Kick ass man. Love this tone.
Awesome riffage and great Lead work!

So tasteful! I love to hear you play. I'm ready for new things. Where is this all leading?
Damn this sounds KILLER!!!! 🤤 Is there anyway chance I could get this and try it out on my helix.
God-tier pickups! I've just installed a set in my ESP Eclipse! 👊🏻🐺
Nice! Yeah they're great!

Hi, what is the pole space of a Schecter km6? I want to change the pickups but I'm not sure if it's 50mm or 53mm

Bridge Cermamic or Alnico?
This track was recorded with the Alnico version
😎🤙🤘🤘🤘🥃🍺🍻
ceramic or alnico?
Tab?
No, I very rarely ever tab out any of my stuff. Takes more time than I have available, unfortunately.

Isnt this pickup very close to SD sh4 🤔
I don't think so. I don't have a JB anymore, but I had one for several years, and to me it definitely has a different voice than the Lundgren.
Stellar, Gord! Are you still playing with Divinity?
Yes sir! We're working on material for a new album atm.
Gord Olson Can't wait to hear it!
