I am taking a basketball class and this video helped me doing my homework because they asked to discuss about the history of women's basketball. It is a very well structured video. Good job!
I'll give you credit for putting out a good video. With a little more research it could've been great. The 3x3 game was actually played at a pretty good pace and because of the rules was hig scoring. Others have already mentioned it, but check out some highlights of Iowa high school games from any year prior to 1990. Others also mentioned leaving out Netball, the modern day equivalent of the original women's game and tge importance of Title IX, which I personally believe needs a revision. My final thing to nit pick about was not mentioning the ABL. It actually started play before the WNBA and many future WNBA strs actually started in the ABL, Dawn Staley and Katie Smith immediately come to mind. Still a good video, which does whatvyou set out to do.
Netball is the sport that evolved from the old women's basketball rules. It's its own sport with its own rules. It's still big in some countries like Australia and NZ. Surprised you didn't even mention it..
The womans old basketball now is really massive in the Commonwealth countries it's called Netball. Look it up NZ & Aus are the best game. Love your videos btw.
Video had a nice beginning teaching us about the early years. But it is mind boggling in a video about women's basketball to ignore the following: 1. The love of girls basketball in Iowa with THOUSANDS attending high school games for decades, 2. Title IX's significance to the growth of girls basketball 3. The Women's Professional League (1978-1981) with 17 (coast to coast) teams and MANY players sacrificing without pay therefore laying the foundation so that the WNBA could exist. Type in "Molly Bolin" to see some of her scoring highlights.
She was nicknamed “Machine Gun” Molly. Movies I recommend, “Mighty Macs” about Immaculata College and “New Providence” about the end of 6 on 6 girls High school basketball in Iowa
