Seems this game wasn't ready. Alot of cool animations but they just don't flow together and look right on the character as much as they did in origins. The assassin kills are also weird and the ai noticing you is so inconsistent. They see you instantly in a place they shouldn't have. I like what ghost of tsushima did where the parkour had alot to do with a jump button and how you could choose to assassinate midair, I'd say this is really more of a viking rpg than a stealth game. Origins did the stealth and combat so well tho
This game is fucking amazing, idk what the hell everyone britches about so much, it's the best game in a long time in my opinion, you could really play the way you want. Sometimes if be unstoppable running in with 0 stealth and just absolute murder machine skills, other times I could be like the ultimate assassin and take the perfect stealth paths taking them all out quickly before anybody notices anything but the breeze before their final breath, this game is way better than what so many people give it credit for

Like, all those half done animations (for instance, compare the aerial assassination of older AC games to those of Valhalla), the AI is extremely inconsistent (well, you could argue that stealth AI is just inconsistent in general, but well still like, why can you literally stand in front of an enemy for 40 seconds straight and run towards them without them reacting? Imo, Ghost Of Tsushima did a good way of tackling this by slowing down time when you do a chain assassination, and by the whole "Fear" mechanic, but the whole thing is unoverseeable in Valhalla). The wayy to extremely heavy feel of the combat (though I would take the benefit of doubt saying that maybe it varies with weapons), and enemies are just damage sponges (In Ghost Of Tsushima, you could one-shot an enemy with an arrow to their head; here, it takes three arrows from stealth to take them down). It always looks like Eivor is holding back when he's doing his thing, like, how tf do you slow down in mid-air? And its just the gameplay aspect I said here. It has countless hours of tedious stuff that doesn't grant enough XP for the time they took, it has countless hours of tedious stories, copy-pasted environments, the color pallete looks the same literally everywhere, no variety whatsoever (in comparison, The Witcher 3, more than 5+ years older, has more variety in its color palette and the environment). In short, it is the worst game ever? No, it definitely does some things well, like the story, and the parkour, as well as having that "Old" Assassin's Creed feel to it. But is it well, "fucking amazing"? Neither. It just...doesn't feel good to play. Some other games have way simpler mechanics and combat, yet they feel good to play.

Half the time the target is way outside your reach, but you magically pull them towards you, and then wait 10 seconds before stabbing them for some reason. I can´t believe that AC1 had more realistic animation than this.
I keep watching this kind of videos as I plan on actually jumping into AC Valhalla, but all I ever see is that all "heavily guarded" areas are almost empty... Is this normal???
the formula to get back on the real AC gameplay track is, make it extremely punishing when being caught by guards. like in desperados / commandos / shadow tactics - you can still manage to kill some people but if there are too many they will kill you. this adds to the player going more stealthy, approaching his surroundings more carefully. ofc there are other problems aswell. also i dont really care about a big open world like it is now, unless it makes sense and fun to explore...which it does not, in my opinion. miss the old times.
I play on pc with a 3090 and I honestly have to say AC Valhalla is one of the most beautiful games in history. It’s honestly a sight to behold and sometimes I have to just stop and look around the landscape.
The assassination animation is so shit. Like why does he have to grab each of the victims by the neck, lay them down and then jab them with the blade? Why not just stealthily stab them in the back, while holding their mouth to prevent them from screming. I played last of us 2 recently and now I don't like the physics and mechanics of most games. However, coming back to ac series, I really miss the assassination animations of syndicate, black flag and unity! I forced myself to try and like this game. I just can't! Wasted my 79$ (Canadian)

One cool thing about origins is how the sound of your footsteps changed based off of the armor worn, mummy set sounded like barefoot on papyrus, and other sets had a noticeable difference depending on footwear

This is ONE of the best MODERN Assassins Creed's ever, and shut up I have played every Assassin's creed and own them all. I prefer the simple yet effective old style assassin's creed fighting compared to the new ones. I like the new ones for everything else except the fighting because it takes to long and is less satisfying than AC3 combat and Black Flag's.
As a person that has 100% the main story, yeah I'll be honest this game is just not it, I gave it a chance but stealth and combat feels very awkward and just not satisfying, too buggy and the armor sets are downright bad, on the other hand it did have a good story. You'd be better off playing Odyssey or Origins, imo there much better games than this.

Like is God Of War 2018 . There is Enemy Called Traveler . He also Has the same kind of soward and Shield on his back but can’t handle soward with one hand when he swings he used Both of the hands . I am not comparing or something , but it just feel odd to me .
