This show is one of the fondest memories I have of when I was a kid. It's hard to explain to the younger generations how big this show was back then and still is. We only had about 3 or 4 networks to watch, and that was your entertainment on tv, other than what you did yourself for entertainment. No computer or smartphones, just tv. Friday night was something special back then. Incredible Hulk at 8pm, Dukes of Hazzard at 9pm and Dallas at 10pm. The show had something for everyone. The ladies liked John and Tom, the guys liked Daisy, family values, respecting each other, slap stick humor, the good guys fighting for what is right and helping your neighbor. Tv shows today just do not compare. Anyone, at any age could watch the Dukes and enjoy it.
It really is, hopefully videos like this help give the younger folks a perspective on how big Dukes really was back in the day. I grew up on the CMT reruns and fell in love with the show at a very young age, l believe i was like 4 when i first started watching
I'm still watching the re-runs to this day, just did couple nights ago. Always takes me back to a simpler time in life where things were simple in life. Watching the simplicity of life on the show as in the settings, no technology driven scripts, just basic country living. Uncle Jessie's farm is a warm down home feeling today as it reminds me of my uncles farm from years past.....and maybe a lot of folks my age feels the same. Watching the show today is like a big warm hug from our past.
Dude, this is so correct, January 26, 1979 was a Friday night on CBS 10, That show came on!!! Damn, I loved it instantly!!! In October of '78 I do remember filming of the 2nd episode of Dukes of Hazzard, which was Daisy's Song, I was in Atlanta, Georgia, I remember Boss Hoggs Cadillac sliding around the corner!!! Mopar Nate, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
you forgot to mention, right after the Dukes of Hazzard, John Schneider and Tom Wopat starred together in a Christmas movie called Christmas comes to Willow Creek.
Actually, it's mentioned in the script for the video but not until I believe 2005, when John & Tom reunited on Smallville. This was initially intended to be a 50 minute documentary, but i had to split it in half in order to make the release date so some stuff that wasn't included in this video will be included in the next one

I also went to the 25th anniversary reunion at the Covington Fairgrounds where they recreated the General jump for the 1st time & is now a staple at every Dukesfest ✌💖☮
