I watched the Dukes on Friday nights. On Saturday nights it was Chips and BJ and the Bear. Thanks for taking this 52 y/o kid back in time. Great memories!
I’m 42 and the dukes came on at tea time on a Saturday. ( Nottingham England ) Followed by knight rider and one you may not know street hawk and then after it was air wolf. Saturday nights when I was a kid were awesome. The kids of today have no idea how good we had it. Not just for tv but lifestyle.
I was 9 too in 1978 and remember watching the first episode when it aired!.. Soon as the General jumped that pile of dirt in the roadway I remember thinking 'Wow this is different. This is going to be a great show!'
Thank you for taking the time to make this video, I loved Dukes of Hazzard first time around, and my son loved the re-runs years later.... Timeless and harmless TV 👍🏼
That brings back so many memories ! The episode aired on January 26 1979 - February 8 th 1985. All together there was 147 episodes. It was a clean & decent . There never be great tv shows like that ever .im glad was around to see it & was part of what I grew up with !
Brings back memories when Friday night was prime time appointment viewing. Now with Netflix and DVRs TV viewing is not structured. Thanks for the research and time it took filming this video.
Wow, that was fascinating to watch, thanks for all the trouble you both went to. I'm a huge fan of the show, and I don't think I will ever get to see those locations myself, so this was the next best thing. Thanks again. 👏👏😀
Very well done. I like how you describe the scenes and then you actually show them from the show. It helped to give more context to the sites that you were showing. Thank you.
I grew up in Panama City Fl and watched the Dukes every Friday night as a child. I moved to Covington Ga in my late twenties (1997). It never crossed my mind that I would be running the same roads as Bo, Luke and Daisy. Great production and she is easy on the eyes.
Thanks For A Very Emotional Trip Down Memory Lane. What A Awesome Tribute & Know Sights That Alot Of Us Will Really Never See Until Now. Thank You. I Hope You Will Be Doing Some More TV Series Like This.. Keep It Up. Loved It.
The first 5 episodes would have been filmed in Georgia. The rest after that was filmed in California. The Georgia filming locations was in Covington and Conyers, Ga. The greedy bastards in Hollywood had to have it, so it went to California. In the first 5 episodes you can see the difference between them and the later films in California. California can never compare to Georgia’s country side! I’m a Georgia boy and love the Dukes!! Just wish the damn liberals would leave it and the car alone, put it back on TV!!!
ok that maybe true. I just remember as a kid seeing the filming in California many times. California is a GREAT state. ITS THE PEOPLE, AKA LIBERALS that make it a bad state. Kick the liberals out. Destroy their laws, drop land prices to reasonable and I would move back. Climate and soil are great.
they should never hurt the town of Hazzard and the buildings so we could remember the good days now Denver pass and boss hogg and James best rip you all will be remembered for along time
Good Old Days..Good Old Boys! Just happened to see your video as we were working on a project for our channel using clips from "Smokey and the Bandit". Enjoyed watching "The Dukes .." each week with my parents. Thanks Chris. Maybe we will see you when we come through Georgia.
This is by far the best look at the filming location of the Dukes of Hazard I’ve watched!! I give you a A++ for this and truly appreciate how you edited and narrated. Truly one that brings back them memories. Thanks and I will be looking at your other videos you’ve made about the other locations. Thank you once again!! By the way your Daisy gets an A+ as well.
Thanks for showing us the locations of the iconic scenes that made up the introduction to DOH. I use to spend whole summers in Okinawa in the early 80's and was starving to watch anything in English. The US military had 1 armed forces tv channel and I would watch the Dukes of Hazard every chance I got so it was a show that meant alot to me. Your wife posing as Daisy in shorts n boots at key locations was a nice touch. Great video Chris!
Wow. Amazing video. Thanx for posting. Though I'm a big fan and would probably never get a chance to visit all the sights - I probably would never get a chance to. This is just as good.
This show was a huge part of my childhood. It's so interesting to see how these locations have changed over the years. One interesting side note that alot of people may not know about the hood slide Luke did is he actually did not intend to slide across like that. If you watch in slow motion or pause it at the right time you can see his right foot clip the fender literally forcing him into the slide. At least thats how Tom Wopat himself described it. 😊 Anyway nice video.
Great video. Well done ! I loved the dukes so much I built my own General Lee in 1979 while I was still in high school. Sadly I gave it up the General in june of 1981 and still regret that to this day. Can't afford another charger to build one, but if I could I certainly would do it all over again and keep it this time.
Wow awesome video! My wife and I did this a couple years later but we wasn’t able to find all the locations. We did find the original Boars Nest as it was top of the list. It was amazing to me how the building and the location looks so much bigger on the tv screen and it was still a church at the time. If I could I’d buy the building I’d restore it to the original Boars Nest and make it a museum! It’s heartbreaking to see uncle Jessie’s house is gone 😞 thanks again for the great work!
This is mighty nice, and it was so great to see the original clips with your locations. A truly nice video! I'm glad you did it. What a great show that was! My mom served me my dinner on my Dukes of Hazzard plastic plate and gave me a glass of milk with it all in my Dukes of Hazzard plastic cup.
My uncle, Shorty Barr lives in Covington. He took us to all the filming locations of Dukes of Hazzard and In the Heat of the Night. He was there watching the iconic opening scene of the Dukes jumping the train tracks using ramps and multiple cars. The police department is actually the towns library.
1 second ago 5:51 I bet that lil brown tree right behind Rosco is that same tree, when it was a baby, that is still standing there today, right behind you. I know this was over 5 years ago, but I have re-visited this vid a few times. Thanks for making it. This area is 'Dukestory'.
Same courthouse and town square used for Carroll O’Connor’s “In the Heat of the Night” series. They shot in many neighboring towns as well. Mainly Newton, Rockdale, and Walton counties.
Damn shame they don't make shows like this anymore - the world was a better place back when families would sit around the television watching good family oriented programming like this. Today's world; is sadly, a mirror image reflection of the crime and hatred that has engulfed the video games and television of today. _The Dukes of Hazzard - Little House on the Prairie - Quincy - Trapper John MD - Starsky and Hutch - Barnaby Jones - The Rockford Files - DALLAS - Three's Company - The Incredible Hulk - Kung Fu - The Bionic Man / Woman / Wonder Woman - Charlie's Angels._ *Yep, I remember them all.*
This was really, really cool !! I loved The Dukes of Hazzard, I was madly in love with Bo ( John Schneider ) and Uncle Jesse was like a family member...he still is. But then in a way so were Roscoe, Enos, Boss Hogg and the whole cast. It was neat watching the then and now scenes, it really took me back. Thank you! 😊
This is the best Dukes filming locations video I’ve seen. Thank you. I always hoped to find the apartment complex from Daisy’s Song but I’m sure it’s gone by now
Enjoyed seeing Ole Hazzard County in 2014, great description of all the sites chris! I hope to get there in 2015 and to visit the filming sites. I heard that their is a museum in the town of the dukes, where is it located?

They have stuff at visitors center. There is a store on corner where they made right to go in front of courthouse but it has small amounts of Dukes and In The Heat if the night memorabilia, mostly they have vampire diaries stuff. Of course it's a store.
G'day Chris Thanks for the tour mate absolutely love the ORIGINAL dukes of hazzard best tv show ever made!! I'm hopefully one day gunna fly over to the u.s and do the tour of the dukes and would love to catch up with the cast if they still do the duke fest that I've heard of its on the top of my wishlist!!
It is along with alot of other movies or shows. Vampire diaries, Friday 13th part 6 in and around there, social circle and Madison county, Venom, Sweet home Alabama and so much more
The Dukes of Hazzard was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. My favorite characters of the show were Daisy and Uncle Jesse. Roscoe was always the guy who, despite being a lackey of Boss Hogg, was a actor that I liked as well.
Just a little FYI in your video here, in episode 4 (Repo Man) at the 10-minute mark where YOU are talking about Ace used car lot where's the characters Bo and Luke turn around to look at Richard Petty's wrecked stock car. IT'S actually the first General Lee from the episode one arm bandit painted blue with the 71 on the doors.
Very well done video. One could argue that what they did later on with how the show was produced later on contributed to its successes. However, when the show was made on location in Georgia, it had much more authenticity and realism. I also wonder if the Roscoe character could have been that great less cartoonish and may have become the guy you might not have liked for going after the Dukes the way he did, but you would find yourself rooting for him in a number of instances.
Wow, what great work... I know it’s a few years ago since you made this video but I just seen the post! I loved the pictures at the ending, awesome reproduction of Daisy’s sign! Thank you so much for sharing the experience with all of us Dukes of Hazzard fans. I remember every Friday night just waiting by the tv. 9:00 pm would finally roll around, my dad would usually be home by 9:15 and by the end of the first set of commercials my dad would be right there with me watching. Then the dreaded 10pm bed time always came much too quickly! I think I HATED the Dallas theme song because that meant bedtime! Lol
The courthouse and "Hazzard Square" , were also the same as used in the series "In the Heat of the Night" starring Carrol O'connor and Howard Rollins in the late eighties
Pretty Cool ! Thanks for the Tour !! I still laugh my ass off for most parts of the show . Luckily it will be remembered thru TV and YT for quite a long time to come . Great job with the "Daisy look " too !!
I loved the dukes still do to this day I own several seasons on dvd I’m curious to know if the town square was the same town square used in the tv show “ in the heat of the night “ staring Carol O’Connor?
Brian Anderson Yes! Covington Square was also known as Sparta, Mississippi for 7 seasons in the television series In the Heat of the Night and most recently known as Mystic Falls, Virginia in The Vampire Diaries.
went to atlanta/senoia for a walking dead tour a week ago, found out covington was not far away so naturally on the way back to jersey took a detour off i-20 to check out some dukes of hazzard stuff. mainly just the town square. wish i got to see more but we had a time frame to keep
And not to mention that's Sparta Precinct from the show In the Heat of the Night in which co star Alan Autry, who played Bubba Skinner, was a guest star on an episode of Dukes of Hazzard as a bad guy.
No foolin'! That is totally cool! Looks like the "Boar's Nest" is now a church. I heard from a video of James Best that there actually was a real Boar's Nest there in Georgia, and they made an exact replica for the show based on photos they took down to the last detail.
I watched the Dukes on Friday nights. On Saturday nights it was Chips and BJ and the Bear. Thanks for taking this 52 y/o kid back in time. Great memories!

Rob, I'm 51 and with ya, man BJ and the Bear, Chips and Dukes, then it was Tales of the Gold Monkey for me. Man what a time

thanks for the childhood memories of 1978 i loved the dukes of hazzard I was 9 never missed an episode every Friday night
We're the same age, it seems. My little sister and I used to pretend that Bo and Luke hung out with us.
Right there with ya !!!! Amen
Best show ever! Even in Canada!
I was 9 too in 1978 and remember watching the first episode when it aired!.. Soon as the General jumped that pile of dirt in the roadway I remember thinking 'Wow this is different. This is going to be a great show!'
I was 11. Still a great TV series to this day. I liked James Best & Sorell Booke in this series. A lot of great actors in this show.
Super well done. I am a big Dukes fan and I certainly appreciate the time and effort you put into this.
Thank you for the memories of one of my childhood favorite TV shows.
A must see for all Dukes of Hazzard fans everywhere.
That's some serious work you did on making this vid. Nice work. The Dukes of Hazzard was a great show.
Until racist Democrats had it removed
We visited the filming areas in Georgia. I’m glad we got to do this. Love the Dukes of Hazzard. Thanks for sharing
Love this. Huge dukes of hazzard fan. Its kinda sad its changed so much
It was always autumn in Hazzard, always leaves flying around when the General Lee drove by.
Thank you so much for this great home-made documentary of one of my favorite TV shows back then. Excellent edition.
So many thanks for this from England. As a 52 yr old I'm watching reruns of this brilliant show and I'm 12 again. Thanks again

Brings back memories when Friday night was prime time appointment viewing. Now with Netflix and DVRs TV viewing is not structured.
Thanks for the research and time it took filming this video.
Great video. Watched Dukes every Friday night, cbs, after Family Feud...Dallas, Falcon Crest followed
Yeah. At that age, WE didn't care about Falcon Crest, nor Dallas, until Jr. got shot........

I remember it was bedtime when Dallas came on
