Tied a few of these up yesterday. Had to make a few modifications as i didnt have the shanks. I used a streamer hook then cut the bend off when i was done tying. Also threw two small glass beads on the trailing hook line for a little color. I used some fire line for the trailing hook. I need to use a little stiffer line as the hook fouled around the dumbell eyes. Landed 4 solid rainbows on the pattern today, a few misses as well. Fish seemed to love it. Will be tying some more of these in other colors and sizes. Great pattern thanks for the idea.

That hide cutting trick is so clever! Definitely giving this pattern a try

Do you find that the rabbit strip fouls on the hook at all? I like the concept but my experience has been that fouling with certain materials on an intruder tie tends to foul a fair amount...

Jake, great pattern. I have never fished a leach pattern. Plenty of bugger patterns. When do you fish one over the other?

Great video and good looking pattern. Just wondering if you cut down the exposed shank when you fish this fly.

so I was thinking, doubled the 20# powr pro, = 40# by my math. kikin ass with that. or did I miss something. but then there's the line to take into consideration. thumbs up.
