It's finally here! Thanks to all the support, I managed to work on Part 4 of this ROM hack. This took many days to complete, so I hope you like it. :)
I'm also thinking of doing some sort of release whenever I have more enemies designed.
As there are many "hidden" issues and because events are not truly connected to each other, it wouldn't exactly be like what you see in these videos. It could be an experience like going through the original game but with randomized rooms combined with my items and designs. That way it would be something for everyone to play. Let me know what you think of that idea!
Questions:
Q: Do you plan on releasing this hack?
A: Unfortunately, I don't have any plans to do so. This is mainly due to lacking the time to relearn everything so that the mod is bug-free and has a proper story connecting all the events. However I may do a release where the original game has replaced enemies mixed with randomized rooms. Thank you for understanding.
Q: Did you make the custom sprites yourself?
A: Yep! All the art was made by me.
Q: Will you do more EarthBound videos?
A: Possibly. If there is a demand for it, then I might try different things!

Gotta apologize for a few mistakes and issues here and there that I would've fixed if I had more time, but I already was sacrificing sleep at this point to get the video ready.

This mod keeps getting better and better! Take as much time as you need; even if a release isn't coming out for another two years, I'd still happily follow its development.

5:09 I'll be honest, Demon watermelons seem a lot more tame then melting clocks that can actually HURT YOU that are supposedly ILLUSIONS created by the mani mani statue. Earthbound was sonic forces before sonic forces was a thing!
Are you sure? I wouldn't want to meet Waterm'lady in a dark alley, fall asleep and wake up to see that I'm heavily injured and am one of her collectibles!
@@BigSharkZ Of course you're right. But atleast I can see Waterm'lady and know that can actually touch me since she's physically in the real world, so I know I should avoid her. The only thing in moonside that should touch me is the evil mani mani statue.
@@butidontlikepaint7700 I didn't think too much about this story, but since the monsters only appear after Jeff gets the spooktacles, I like to think they are invisible to us until they strike. Ness can probably see them naturally because of his PSI usage.

I had a good few laughs here and there! The writing is fantastic as always, sprites pop and have a lot of charm, and the music makes me boing. Most of the music sounds really good on 1.5x speed, some of these music edits are real bangers!
The Summers edit for nighttime became calming and chill, probably my favorite one out of the tracks here.

The Reggie NPC made me want this rom hack MUCH more.

You captured the feeling of the original Earthbound along with this cursed image trend very well. I love that you modified the helper NPCs to be more useful and gave them a place in the story. I'm so impressed. Please keep making more content of all kinds; you certainly have the skill for it.

If you won’t release the game (which is understandable) are you planning on releasing the music? I think there are some very great songs in this series that could have been in the real Earthbound and would like to just listen to them without the sound of the game.

If this wasn’t released I think It would be quite a disappointment as I can see this having a lot of potential and help your channel grow as I haven’t seen a earthbound hack this good for a long time . I’m sure it would be a good idea to release a demo as a taster so people can give you feedback and criticism.
So this would be quite the waste of time in my opinion if you didn’t release this in some form publicly
I completely understand, but making a proper release without any issues would take me a long time. The main reason why I did this new part is because of all the requests I got for it, though I might do something in the future where I do a release that is the original game but with my items and enemies, whenever I have more progress that is. Thank you!
@@BigSharkZ To be honest, even a release with the sections we've seen, as buggy as they are, I wouldn't mind to be able to play them for a sub 1 hour playthrough. Seems like some great stuff.

Thanks! I'm sorry I can't put in the time required to do a proper release, but like I mentioned in the description, I might be able to at the very least replace all of EarthBound's original enemies with my ideas and release that, whenever I have a lot of progress on this hack.
As for the music, I use EBMused. I mostly mess around with control codes to change the tempo and instruments, or I mix and match parts of different songs to create new stuff. Hope that helps!

Man watching this at night and seeing the Cursed Shadow was a big mistake
This is super impressive! I saw part 1 in my rec feed today and thought "Oh it's an enemy swap neat" but now I've watched all 4 parts and holy shit this is a full blown story, sprite, music and everything else hack! I love it and can't wait for the next part!

It seems to be "Boris's Cocktail" from the original game's soundtrack, but in a different soundfont.

Hey, I actually really dig this. And that's coming from someone who fell OUT of love with Earthbound as he got older (I have it backwards - I played it and loved it as a kid then stopped liking it as I became an adult). I actually went "oh shit" when I saw the old man disappear. This is great, more people need to embrace Earthbound's TRUE nature as a horror game.
Seeing summers again remembers me of the snake boss. I literally pk flashed him and he became numb and one pk freeze later and it was dead. EZ
