@@j_merc the bick is f***ed up when i activate the fast charge in settings and the phone is connected to charger it is going crazy , the charge is intermitent like the cable is damaged (but it isn't) I try on my aunt's a31 4gb ram and it is the same problem . The phone is brand new ....

I do not agree that Samsung should have put wireless charging in this phone. This is really not a negative. When a manufacturer includes wireless charging on a mid-range phone like the A31, they skimp on something else like NFC, or minimum amount of RAM. If you ask me a lower mid-range phone is complete with 4-6 GB RAM, a great display, a large battery, decent processor, great cameras and NFC. The Bold N1 does not come with a 6GB RAM option, and lacks NFC. This A31 model comes with NFC; at least in the 6GB variant. Ninety-eight percent of the lower mid-range phones do not come with wireless charging. If you go by today's standards, it can no longer be a negative. Even some flagships don't have wireless charging and are being replaced with super fast charging instead. Just my opinion. Great job on the review.

This may be a weird question but when the phone is locked is the screen just black or does it show the time and a pop-up when you get a message? Also wondering about the camera, i bought a phone recently and it takes a while for the camera to load and we all know we love our camera's and want to take instant pictures.... i want to return the phone i bought so was looking at this Samsung.
There is no slow motion video supported on A31 in India model. This is the worst thing according to me. Much cheaper phones have these feature from several years. Second, the earphones that comes in the box is total mediocre and namesake. Better not to include it in the box instead of providing something cheap and tacky.

I've made my mind up for a51 but I will wait for 5g to come down a little in price. I like a31 almost wanted to get it but I really require NFC. And I agree with you Kevin that now a days the way techs are progressing Samsung must not exclude NFC from any phone. Well for me wireless charging isn't a big issue. But all in all a31 is a good phone in that price range. 👍🏻

Ugh, I was ready to order this phone until you brought up the large lower bezel, that's kinda a deal breaker plus for a $250 phone, you'd think Samsung would ramp up the camera features which they haven't really done. Guess I'll have to be more patient and keep searching...
I think that the lower bezel is made like that so in landscape mode some apps that aren't compatible with the infinity u notch don't be disproportional, if you notice in those apps it cuts before the notch and makes them even
I have the a51 and yeah the main camera makes the macro redundant although in some cases, the macro makes the detail sort of crisper, like its using software to artificially highlight edges and textures, also if you get too close with the main camera, it wont focus on the object like the macro can, other than that, yeah I do think the macro is just a gimmick

If you are going to make a video make sure you have done your research so you don't give people false information and make an arse of yourself.
I wish they had of swapped the bottom chin with the top notch. Also it does support NFC, I'm not kidding it's listed under the specs, connectivity section on samsung.com
