We serviced a retirement condominiums complex! It was sad to see how most of their sons and daughters had warehoused them there almost never visiting them! They were starving for someone to talk too! Only me and the boss we're allowed by the manager to service the units because the residents would only allow us to service their units! We had compassion and patience dealing with them! Many times part of the job was to listen to them and eat some cookies and drink a glass of milk! I very much liked all of them! It was sad when I would do annual service and find out one of them had died and have to listen to the spouse tell how much they missed their loved one! One time I had a lady there tell me her thermostat wasn't accurate and the round one she had before worked better! I knew nothing was wrong with the current square one but I changed it out to make her happy! If you have a passion for your job like Steve does many times it's about more than just only money !
Kudos to Steve for showing all the patience in the world to the elderly. I think he only explained the venting system to the poor lady about 500 times.
And the chinese love them..especially brown ones.. south china post did a survey on tastiest color dog... brown was the clear winner..in life reality is surreal... if I did not personally read that story on the front page...

I wonder if you could put a vent in and run it out the side of the house? She seemed like a sweet old lady 👵 who doesn’t get much company. She’s lucky to have a person like you around. Steve, you have the patience of JOB. Rather than explaining the lack of venting slowing the emptying of both sinks simultaneously (which she never understood) it would be quicker to have fitted an air admittance valve under the sink.
She'll never grasp what pipe venting is. Most customers won't either. All she needed is to be told -->> Fill only ONE side at a time, then it will drain fine. Always leave ONE side's drain open. Obviously if she continues to fill BOTH sides together, they'll both drain slow.
Plumbers are helpful when you need to fix your backed up kitchen sink or bathroom sink or your toilet or your bath tub if it’s backed up or clogged up bad

The old folks fill both sides, one for soap, one for rinse. That's why double basin sinks exist.
