The sad fact is the defense fell part....which we know is Schiano's strength over the years. We lost the linebacker coach...and now the DC....along with all the injuries. Regarding a signature win, either Anderson or Mike Broadbent said RU will be more able to pull an upset next year since the offense is setting up to be more versatile with CJ Campbell, a healthy tight end or two, and all the receivers returning. With a tougher schedule next year...and Kyle M gone...Schiano needs to let Kirk do his thing....and let special teams return punts !!
Progress next season should be measured by whether RU can get a signature win. The good news is that its much more difficult to build a good offense than it is to build a good defense. What I saw in the last 4 games and for most of yesterday's game was a good offense. If Rutgers can continue to land plug-in defenders from the portal, we can hang. Speed is another issue. You can't teach it.

If you told me RU would score 41 points, I would have felt pretty darn good about grabbing a W. Unlike a Schiano D to cost the team.
