    grab sheets and pillowcases as well, they can be used to make clothing, for bandages, for separating sections in tents, food gathering and storage, etc.

    If you have a good bug out location you could bury a chest type freezer and load it with extra items. If not you can only carry what you can haul. You may want to add some gas to your bug out items.

    Very good video! We recently marked an item off our bucket list: a deuce & half with the tow-behind trailer. My hubs is currently deployed, so if SHTF it's all on me to load the bug-out vehicle. The one good thing is it won't be too difficult to load out by pulling up to the basement door, then up and around to the front door (4.5 story farmhouse). Most things are already in a "staged" atmosphere, but I can certainly do better.
    Viking, Gudrid

    That's the dilema. Keep everything in one spot and it''s quicker to grab and go but your keeping all your eggs in one basket or spread it around the house which is safer but takes longer going all over to get.
    I would transfer all the smaller water containers to another one of those blue ones to save some time and maybe keep an extra bag of dog food in reserve but i bet they are more than happy to share your dinner. :D

    Watched this on Pastor Joe's Patreon channel. Very helpful. What I realized while watching: I can't carry 5-gal buckets of food, I can only push them along the floor. Can't pick them up into a vehicle. Need to switch over to 2.5-gal containers. I can't carry 2.5-gal containers of water. Need to switch to one gallon containers. Need to get serious about collecting tools and camo clothes. Find foot size of ppl I expect to join me when the balloon goes up (they don't see the need, but they will be useful when the time comes) and get appropriate footwear in their sizes. Collect various and sundry camo/gray man clothes from thrift stores. I can do better -- you've set the wheels turning. Thank you. One comment on your bugout -- two men could move that patio table aside double-quick and put that truck right up at the door. Those saved steps could result in more goodies on the truck.

    I have a chevy van set up for storage and camping. I had a truck at one time. But I can get so much more in my van and it is out of the view of the public. The first time I have heard anyone mention extra shoes, or put some in a Cashe. You shoes will wear out quicker than any other clothing items. I like the way you think. You do so many things and use so many items that I am on top of as well. I don't know your prep situation. I would include self resiliency. Maybe some seeds to grow some food and we raise meat rabbits and chickens. Once that first MRE or mountain house is opened, the countdown begins until your supply runs out.

    Probably should invest in a camper shell. Nothing crazy just a generic one that both blends in with society and doubles to conceal your supplies on back. It also protects what’s on back from things like rain and speedy driving so nothing blows off. And I guess if need be once you’re in your bug out location your truck can double as a sleeper since the bed will be Inclosed.

    • @Rpg39_
      @Rpg39_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, milk crates to store loose water bottles. Awkwardly carrying 3-4 bottles at a time slows you down. 1 milk crate carries water bottle easily and the crates can stack on top one another.

      Yeah the Amazon situation...everywhere you turn its something. My area requires that I store water and have plenty of water filters available for long term use. I'm needing to get some 55 gallon barrels for rain collection, as droughts are a regular thing here and lakes and creeks can be either too far away or not dependable.

    • @SurvivalTheory

      @J B I actually had a storage mostly for gear, preps, and extra ammo...but after awhile I calculated the cost of storage versus what I could be buying every month and ended the storage. Lots of gear could be stored in a trailer, ready to go if in the right containers or the trailer was enclosed. Around here tarps degrade quickly, so I would likely want covered or great containers.

      You'd have to have 1 or 2 in the back of the truck ready with hot printers. A walkie for comms would be of great value. One person might have to move a vehicle, trees, etc to keep it moving. Because no one is coming. You are now 911. That's it.
