How are you guys feeling about new Memphis May Fire??
Edit: Wanted to let you guys know that after hearing this song a few more times I do REALLY enjoy it and do regret labeling it as "generic"
I feel they should really experiment with their music. Like how NorthLane did. Before Alien, NorthLane didn't make rave like metalcore but now they have changed their sound so the new and the old fans can still enjoy it
@@sharing64tacos 100%
It's generic, but it's damn good generic.
@@jaygz4690 For sure! 🤘🏻🖤
@@SFutureReactsI feel a metal band should stay in its roots because then it feels like the old albums are the only thing holding them up which can be true as some extent. Take BFMV for example, although the Poison and Scream aim fire made a major impact. They haven't really left their roots like their Self titled album. Or BMTH, although they experiment a lot with their sound. They made something that the new and old love
memphis is kind of the band that pioneered what we now see as generic metalcore to be fair lol
That’s a very good point actually! 😅🖤
I guess It's kinda difficult for bands to please us. They experiment, make something new, sound different, people hate it, take Wage War for an example. But when they sound the same, people will call it generic, boring, sound the same, etc etc. Nowadays, I appreciate more the bands that sound the same. Rather than changing the style, and we end up getting disappointed and missing their old style. Wage War's new album is a big no for me, and it makes me really appreciate Memphis May Fire and other bands that sound "the same"
I honestly completely feel the same even though I’m a part of that crowd.
That’s how it’ll always be in music, tv, media in general.
You can’t please everyone so you have to decide what crowd you want to please and cadre to.
I feel like my statement about this song being “generic” was taken a little too harshly than I intended.
I really do love the song 👍🏻
@@SFutureReactsNo don't get me wrong, what i said wasn't intended for your statement about the song being generic. What you said kinda made me realize, that's what's really happening right now, there are 2 groups of people, the ones that dislike the bands that sound the same and the ones that dislike the bands that don't sound the same anymore. I was part of the group that got bored with the bands that sound the same. But since Asking alexandria, BMTH, Wage War, and many other bands now have changed the music direction and got me really disappointed, now I can appreciate the bands that don't change their music direction and stick with the genre they started, that we all have known and loved. Great video, buddy, I just found your channel, subscribed!
@@666Lycan That’s a very good approach to enjoying music my friend, thank you! 🙏🏻🖤
Still better than 90% of the new Wage War album 😂
100%! 😅😭
I agree, but, I think this is still interference from Cody 😅😅
Is wage wars new album that bad?💀
@@shanemiller8540 there’s some good songs but it’s so bad that I can’t tell if it or Pressure is worse
@@tbzombi3950 I’ll give it a listen
Right now Sirusxm "octane" is pushing out bands that aren't signed and also playing tons of new music...its literally what they used to be but like but also like what some of the best rock radio staions once were. Rock is making a MASSIVELY HUGE comeback!
100%!!! 🤘🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts it's the early 2ks all over but better! Well..lol
MMF are definitely an enjoyable band for sure they maybe generic but it’s definitely a fun band to listen to.
100% 🤘🏻🖤
Dude, I love the CDs on the shelf
@@richardsewell511 Thank you so much dude!!!
I put the shelf up last week and you’re the first one to mention it!
Wanted to spice up my background a little bit.
Have a good one! 🤘🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts it's amazing how the little things that mean a lot to someone go completely unnoticed more often than not
@@richardsewell511 Unfortunately yeah 😅
They have been generic majority of the bands existence. MMF has been trying to branch out more for years. They failed with Virus, got lost creatively for a minute, but have now found a good consistent groove. MMF may be generic, but they’re so good at it. Likes it’s their own style. It may be cookie cutter, but it’s a great cookie cutter.
That’s fair and I agree.
They’re most definitely consistent with their sound but it seems they vary creatively with each album unfortunately 👍🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts So which is it? Do they vary creatively or are they generic? (No disrespect; I enjoyed the reaction, and we're all entitled to our opinions.)
@@preston_s. I think classifying something as generic gives the connotation that it is lacking in creativity no?
So, I’d say both 🤷🏻♂️😅
I preferred the last album over the new stuff they're putting out. But that's been the case for a lot of bands lately.
Wage War - Manic > Stigma
Caskets - Lost Souls > Reflections
The Word Alive - MONOMANIA > Hard Reset
Normandie - Dark & Beautiful Secrets > Dopamine
Youth Fountain - Keepsakes & Reminders > Together In Lonesome
I'm now realizing that 2020 - 2022 was probably a golden time for 10/10 Albums and now I'm looking for newer sounds from bands and artists I've never heard of.
I feel that 👍🏻🖤
Id also add erra self titled>cure also but i really liked both of them
They've never asked for defense. They just write music they enjoy playing and that a lot of people will enjoy listening to. Like all music.
Plus, from what I understand of the genre as a relative newbie, MMF essentially invented this flavor, and it seems a little pretentious to call the original generic.
That’s fair my friend!
No they didn’t ask for defense, I mean as a huge fan of a band/artist I always feel the need to stick up for them against haters/negativity and I find myself defending MMF and Wage War more than any band.
I get what you mean though 🖤
@@SFutureReacts In that case I can definitely see where you're coming from, yeah.
Check out a song by Through This War. They experiment with different genres and you might like their style.
👍🏻🖤
i havent really minded the generic song as long as it is a really great song. i dont listen to a whole lots of metal acts. Memphis, BMtH, Bad Omens, Motionless, Asking Alex., & Self Deception are the only ones i keep up with so i personally havent had problems with metalcore songs being too generic
also funny you mention no on putting this as their top song of the year, my current initial ranking of this song is 6th place (Chaotic is 9th) lol
I hear ya! 👍🏻🖤
Same here, my top favorite at this moment had Chaotic and Paralyzed so high, with some P.O.D. and Allt for example, MMF is having fun with these new singles, and people are connecting with it, I personally love to hear what the album have to offer 🤘🔥
Do you know Rain City Drive? If yes, be ready for Friday.🔥 And MMF newest song is good - not amazing, not bad - just good.✌🏻
I’ve only reacted to one RCD song!!! 👍🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts Oh, do you know "Medicate Me" by them feat. Dayseeker? If not you have to check them out, cause it has the perfect summer vibe - in my opinion.😅🔥
@@leonmislo Yes!
I reacted to it on my Twitch stream but I haven’t uploaded it to TH-cam yet!
It’ll be a month or two before it’s out 🙏🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts 🖤✌🏻
People when bands bring out the same type of rhythm 🤬
People when bands experiment with different rhythms 🤬
😂😭
I mean, if my criticism on this was taken in that way then idk what to say.
I clearly didn’t intend to be negative 🤷🏻♂️
Sfuture will u do im gone by Nick nittoli
no
I would much rather listen to anything new by memphis may fire than manic or even wage wars new stuff I've lost faith in wage since pressure came out
Fair! 👍🏻🖤
Is architects generic?
I wouldn’t say so honestly!
I think every album they do is different especially the last 2 or 3.
The last two songs they did were the most generic thing from them but I think that’s due to them going back to a heavier direction 🤘🏻🖤
@@SFutureReacts well if they could ever comeback to their 2016-2019 style I would be only happy even if it is generic
@@doctormomentos2514 100% dude!
Generic doesn’t mean bad 🖤
Mmf was at its peak before matty tbh
Nah Matty a goat bro.
Super talented.
@@SFutureReacts yeah, i just like their songs better overall on their 2007 ep lol
