Hi Mark, This is an excellent video! The changes to the yard that your friend Dave suggested really worked out well. That just goes to show us how valuable a second opinion can be. Keep up the good work. As I have said before, your progress is impressive! Cheers!! Dave (HOn30critter)
These updates take on a whole new meaning for me now. Thank you for allowing me in the front door Mark! That area from Hudson to Lander looks like a whole different place. Good job. The run cam2 view looks great and well worth the money! Wow, I'm so happy to be able to appreciate these updates even more now. See ya next time Mr.Pruitt! P.S. R.I.P. ground throw
Charlie, it was a genuine pleasure to have you visit. You're welcome back any time. I'm planning an operating session for late June. Be great if you could participate. I was concerned that working on the Casper yard would mean R.I.P. two turnouts! BTW, thanks again for the two gondolas!
Nice Change in the yard! Always nice to have friends that can see and help with things! The new camera is working well too! You and Dennis have me jealous for the space you guys have too! ...Claude
Hay Mark : Your prog-gress updates are always awaited / appreciated. Let alone the actual advancement of the Layout; your presentation / narration / story-telling remain of the first order. We look forward to the next Monthly snd / or any interim Fillers ! In closing; thankfully you look well on the way to recovery. Lakka and Cheers For Now / Johnny 🤙🤟
I enjoy all your videos. If I had my pick, though, I'd love to see your operating sessions. I know it's a lot to film and run the session, but that's my favorite type of video. I am looking forward to the next update and am glad to see you doing better after all the health excitement. -Rick
Thanks Rick! I'd like to document the operating sessions (at least a little bit). I also really enjoy watching those from other people. Maybe one of these days... Meanwhile, drop by and participate in one!
Hello, I'm glad that you mentioned sugarbeets. I need to know how to model them and cottonseed loads myself. I live in Utahs Tooele Valley and when my mother was growing up our community harvested sugarbeets, hauled them to a nearby WP branch for pick up and then shipped into the Salt Lake valley refineries. Since I'm modeling the modern era, I've noticed that the smaller farming communities got shipments of cottonseed. One load I seen was delivered in a boxcar and another load was shipped in a retired woodchip car. I haven't placed a location for my industrial park yet but it will be somewhere in the lake Bonneville basin. It's name? The Bonneville Industrial Terminal and Transfer Co. I'll be looking forward to seeing more videos from you and if I find out how to model sugarbeets I'll gladly pass the information to you. 🦡
Glad to see you're making progress on laying track toward Lander. Also glad you finally listened to me and let me help you make your Casper Yard much more efficient, and more prototypical. haha Next, Powder River. ???? haha Sorry about that switch stand!!!! But hey, I brought you 5 or 6 new ones. Sorry you can't use them as they are a little smaller than the ones you use. I must have used N Scale switch stands on my old layout??? That was many moons ago. You better be building a switch for Powder River, cause I am planning to put a TurnTable on my layout. Remember what you said??? LOL Thanks for NOT putting a few of those pictures in this video!!!!! You had me worried!!!! haha Great video, and glad things are progressing!!!!!
You keep giving me a hard time about Powder River, and those pics just might find their way into a video...👹 There just isn't room at Powder River for another switch.
Nice work on the RR. For your sugar beets, why not cut some plain styrene to size, glue on some medium (or fine? whichever looks more appropriate to scale) ballast , and paint? You could even glue a washer or attach a magnet to the underside of the load for easy removal. I'd imagine it would cost very little and I assume you already have all that stuff laying around. Best of luck and I look forward to your next upadate!
Hi Tim. I do plan on making loads a lot like you describe, but I'm just not sure what to use to represent the beets on top. Not sure ballast would look right, but I might give it a try. After all, all I'd be out is a small chunk of foam (got plenty of that laying around!) and some ballast. Washer might break me, though ...🤣
Great to see the progress Mark! I'm sure it's a joy to operate your layout. It looks like some scenery work is continuing with large amounts of pink foam, (9:12) any chance you will give us some hints on how you are approaching such a large undertaking? I also have large areas that need scenicked so I'm very interested in your approach! Love your layout and channel!! ~Dennis
Thanks Dennis! The Wind River Canyon is all pink foam. I haven't added any for awhile now, but once I get the stock pens at Powder River complete I'll be moving into the canyon again. My basic approach is to throw a bunch of pink foam up, carve away whatever doesn't look right, and hope the finished product doesn't look like one of those toy styrofoam tunnels when I'm done!
Nice video as always Mark. For sugar beets you can try either bulgur wheat or anise seets. Bulgur wheat has a better overall shape, but personally i like anis seets better, because of their color and that "earthy" look they have.
Nice update. Looking forward to your operations videos. And if I have not said before you do great voice over narrations, speaking, communications and story telling are not a large part of my skill set.
Hi Mark, Would couscous pasta be close to the right size? If you are not familiar with it, it is a Middle Eastern dish made of semolina. It comes in the form of very small round balls. It should be available in your local grocery store. Cheers!! Dave
Thanks for the thought, Dave. I think couscous is a bit too round. Sugar beets look a lot like (of all things) rat droppings, though not quite so pointy.
THANK YOU FOR DETAIL VIDEO
Thanks Robert!
Great update
Thank you!
It was a pleasure to see your layout in person and operate on it. Far from disappointed, I was inspired! Thanks, Mark!
Thanks Kevin! I'm looking forward to your next visit
@@mapruitt As am I!

Thanks Dave! Maybe someday I'll have enough courage to try a project like your plow.
Great update…nicely narrated video explaining the issues and how you fixed them…awesome to have friends to help with stuff
Thanks!
Sure is helpful having friends. I wouldn't even know some of the problems I had if it weren't for them. - right Dave? 😁
@@mapruitt You are SO right!!! HAHAHA

Great update!!!!! Making progress!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the update Mark. It's looking good! I read somewhere that fenugreek seeds work for Sugar Beet loads.
Thanks Paul! Fenugreek seeds, huh? I'll have to see if I can get some.
Jolly good show……alll videos are good…
Thanks Tom!

Funny comment about Dennis and my spaces - I'm jealous of the great work you do and the layout you've built! Really top notch work!!

Oh Yea, I really like the cab ride on the CNW in the beginning of the video. Scenery looks Great!!!!
