WOW. Those long wheelbases and big sleeper conventional's look nice, probably drive nice too (I'm not a CDL, no experience outside of U-Haul moving trucks), but a short wheelbase cabover has the advantage of maneuverability. Having skills is of invaluable importance as well.

Consider it was adequate @ the time of building. Trucks & loads grew bigger plus the now that the neighborhood grew up around it, the business can’t grow anymore

    • @kay-collins
      @kay-collins 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Idk why these businesses are allowed to do this. If a truck was parked right there for ANY other reason the driver would get a ticket but since the business is making them do it it’s okay. These companies we deliver to & for are absolutely able to do literally anything they want to do & have zero respect for the driver.

What a shitshow on the street! That cabover comes in handy in situations like you were in for sure. However, I sure don't miss driving one when I was trucking. Driving for then Roadway Package System now FedEx ground in a 1987 Freightliner single axle cabover, spring ride, pulling doubles from NJ to Florida to PA and back to NJ weekly was a bouncy ride. That was back in the early 90s when I was young, dumb, and full of spit and fire. I would've driven a horse team back then. LOL!

I had to wear a seatbelt back then just to keep me in the seat. People have the audacity to think I 80 today in Pa is a bad road. If they only knew what it used to be.

If it weren’t for that lady, I can imagine every truck trying to get in there at once, what a mess that would be.
In 1976, our flight out of Boston was canceled due to fog. The only room we could get was near the produce terminal. The line of trucks waiting to get unloaded was miles long at 5 am.

Every Industrial & residential city/town needs to follow the examples of how to build for industry & neighborhoods like the perfect example: the "plainfield, indiana" area near the metro/greater metro of the naptown/indianapolis, indiana area. Plainfield, in is still building more distribution centers & residential neighborhoods; and they all seem to be built perfectly for growth together. #IJS

To put the belt on you have to put it on the pants you want wear first.. then the holster has no way of holding your gun secure ..if you jump or move to fast .your gun falls out... I let the company know. to put out a video of someone putting the belt on and then run with there gun. They told me they would still haven't seen it..

The company should invest a parking lot for trucks or set up the road so trucks are not in the middle but the way the road is setup I can see what its a problem for them to get in and out. Huge cluster.

As someone with no trucking experience that yard seems like a complete mess, too tight of tolerances in the lot and huge inefficiencies with all those trucks queued up

Been doin this for a long time. Anything more than 2" is a lot of room in some places.

Seemed like scheduling pick ups not very independent-trucker friendly. Lots of down time, I suppose with no revenue. Nice they got Steve in and out.

Oh no. I edited hours of time out. It was not in and out.

That's what happens when a shipper decides to set everyone's load/unload appointment times for the same time. Lmao

HOS and ELDs dictate load times in reality. Appointment times are actually fantasy.

@@fsctrucking very true, however I've been to numerous shippers who have only 1 or 2 set appointment times throughout the day for loading which has caused numerous delays in scheduling and planning. I just try to get there early in those cases.

#IJS

Fu k it's like that in a lot of places kinda happens more on there part over scheduling more than they can handle.
