    for me the hardest part has been to find people who want to work together, with 0 budget and still learning... I have so many ideas I want to put into practice but I just cant find anyone to work with

      I totally feel you on this man, when we first started this film, it was just me and Louis, who is like my right hand guy who helps me run the TH-cam channel. Since then we have somehow developed an entire crew with very little budget. I really took the approach of if you build it they will come Maybe it works for you too?

    Everything you've said in this video is masterfully right! Something that the industry has lost (I'm not just talking about Hollywood, but also the most personal films) is the key question to make every decision: "Does this choice really help me tell the story I want to tell?" and also "Does this dialogue, scene or character help me convey the concept or core idea I want to convey to my audience?" And I think that's one of the most important qualities of A24 as a studio. Taking those personal and unconventional elements to show them on the big screen as an attraction (something that more traditional studios rarely dare to do). Using anamorphic lenses not just because it looks pretty, but because it has an aesthetic sense that is coherent with the story and the way of telling it. Or any kind of decision like that. I loved your video! It's the first one I've seen and I'm definitely giving you a follow! Very interesting reflections, tips and advice. Greetings! ✨🍉✨

    dude this is an amazing breakdown. I am in the middle of production myself for an episodic series I am working on. This was supposed to be a stand alone project but we found ways to make it an entire universe. I am really excited for it and I can't wait to see your film either.

    I think new filmmakers throw too much exaggerated emotion onto the screen. Nothing is subtle which makes them look amateurish.
    A24 films are beautifully shot quiet subtleness with moments of extreme emotion or events that we all remember.

    What type of anamorphic lenses did you use?

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      We used 2 different types, Atlas Mercury and Laowa Nanomorphs

    • @OneiricstudiosLLC
      @OneiricstudiosLLC 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ atlas is great. What did you think of the nanos? I know they’re clinical looking but the size is amazing.

      @@Alexzarfatifilms lol I know they’re characterless but theyre small and go on my gh5s which is an mft, shoots anamorphic, and is the only camera I could afford. Also building a diy with a Kowa fitted on a Helios for more character. Thank you for the response love your channel.

    Yo every terrifier movie suck like the acting everything suck and I feel like it made alot of money so if a film was just horrible like that there was like no story line either that movie should give ppl hope but instead you all spending money on expensive equipment with a garbage story just to say I'm making a movie, just follow the basics and make a dam film just do it like nike said man my cousin shows all this expensive equipment and he didn't even drop his movie yet so what's the point trying to be perfect to figure out your movie sucks just make the movie.

    Why on earth would you make a short? Shorts never make money, if they're too long nobody even watches them. For the same amount you could have made a feature - zero budget or otherwise - and sell it. Don't give out advice if you don't know this business.

    • @deondriamichelle
      @deondriamichelle หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You went kind hard there geesh there is an audience for short films unfortunately the algorithm has this app so jacked up on short formed content that unless you go looking or already subscribed you probably won’t see it I don’t think he’s giving bad advice or doesn’t understand what he talks I just think optimism is for all filmmakers on this app especially those of us that don’t want to do breakdowns, or gear reviews but I can appreciate your passion

    • @NikPelekai

      People don’t always create shorts/features just for money.

    • @NikPelekai

      I know the business and I've seen quite a few people who make shorts, get noticed by bigger companies. Some even get their short story bumped up to a feature, you also have something to show potential investors, other cast, crew who you may want for your feature, next project. There's no set rules, quite often features don't even get released, let alone make any money either!
