Egg rolls and Spring rolls are different though. Spring rolls are made of thin wrappers made without eggs, are usually meatless and baked. Egg rolls have thicker wrappers made from flour and eggs, contain meat and veggies and are deep fried. I'm not big on Chinese food but those egg rolls, the Orange chicken and that beef look yummy!
Yes, spring rolls are Vietnamese as well.
@@franciet99 not to be picky or anything but I think Vietnamese food is much better than Chinese.
@@kevinerose it’s much fresher tasting.
...in America. They are referring to what British people call them and no one in Britain uses the term "egg roll".
@@SVanTha I'm aware but they also might NOT be aware that there is a difference.
Buy a box of forks and keep them in your glove compartment for emergency use (LOL).
lol! This is a great idea!😂🤣
Crab rangoon are usually dipped in sweet and sour sauce. And now I have a taste for Panda Express.
I like to drizzle on some soy sauce, and add a dab of the hot mustard, too, in addition to the sweet n sour saice, for a more well rounded flavor profile
I’ve always eaten them plain
@@MadamMaru-gm5ff I don't know about the soy sauce but I love them with the hot mustard. A little bit of spice and then the cream cheese makes for a perfect pairing!
Try Sweet chili sauce for Crab Rangoon, fried wontons, and egg/spring rolls. It's the best, imho. I keep a bottle in the fridge.
@@DeveusBelkanThanks! I walk out with nothing but soy sauce n hot mustard. The mustard gets mixed in with everything. Love the horseradishish burn
For the egg roll, do ask for the hot mustard. Talk about a nice bit of spice with it. Great when you've a cold, opens the nose right up.
Thanks for the tip!
@@thebritstry The egg rolls come with a sauce, sweet n sour I think. And yes, love the hot mustard.
Before you leave the states, go back to Panda Express and get the Sweet Fire Chicken Breast and the Honey Sesame Chicken with white rice, then get 2 packs of Teriyaki sauce and drizzle the teriyaki sauce over your white rice and then indulge in both chicken with the rice/sauce combo.
That sounds delicious! We will definitely try Panda express again and we are saving your suggestion!! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!
love all the comments about egg rolls vs spring rolls. i know soooooo many people who feel strongly about which one is better its a physical fight on chinese nights with friends over who can finish them lmao
They are delicious! thanks for watching
Spring rolls are authentic Chinese food. Spring rolls are just American Chinese food invented in the 1930s in New York
Chinese food in the United States comes in two varieties. Chinese-American, which are dishes popular in the United States for a long time that were originally created by Chinese immigrants to the United States after they came over and acculturated to our food. And authentic Chinese, also brought by immigrants, but cooking dishes just as they were in their homeland. Most Americans' first taste of Chinese food is Chinese-American food. Panda Express is a good example of Chinese American cuisine as well, since it was started by a Chinese Immigrant here adopting what he'd learned since coming here and mixing it with his knowledge from China. He created orange chicken. A great many local mom and pop Chinese American restaurants have added it to their menus, too, and frankly, theirs is usually better than the original. For more examples, try chicken egg foo young, chop suey, sweet and sour chicken, General Tsao's chicken, chow yuk, egg rolls, sesame chicken or Mar Far chicken, or almond fried chicken. And chicken subgum chow mein, very different from the type you had here. And of course, several varieties of fried rice, including Spam fried rice.
This makes a lot of sense, this is similar to the UK and Indian food. Thank you so much for recommending other dishes we should try, we will be sure to give them a go. 😀
OK, First, I like your enthusiasm. This is the third of your videos I have watched and enjoyed them all so far.
Second, I have gathered you are now living full time in the US? What brought you here? There is nothing on your TH-cam home page that explains that, just curious. A recent move or in the past for work or something?
Huge fan of the walnut shrimp. Love Panda Express. But I'm always hungry again an hour later so I always get more to go. Lol!
The walnut shrimp was delicious! we are always hungry😂
You guys are so cool and your dynamic is fantastic, it would be cool to watch y’all react to anything you’ve not tried, of course food, but drinks, shopping in stores you’ve never been to, any experience that is new to you in the US. I’d watch ❤️💛❤️💛. Thank you for the videos!! I have a nasty cold and don’t feel like doing anything so your videos have been just what the doctor ordered!
Thank you so much for your kind words! And we hope you are feeling better!! We have just visited New Orleans This past weekend to sample the food there! There is a new video out this afternoon. We'll definitely consider your suggestions for new experiences to react to. Stay tuned for more exciting videos!
I had China Express for dinner tonight! How funny! I had the chow mein (which isn't chow mein, it's just noodles - you said yours were a bit greasy and mine could have cooked a bit longer...must have been busy tonight and they short cut on the cook....but I got the Honey Walnut shrimp, Teriyaki Chicken and Orange Chicken (which is what they are kind of known for) . . . for the price -- it's definitely a two day meal for me!! Sometimes 3!
Haha! That is such a coincidence! We had all the dishes you mentioned and the entrees were all good and tasty. We can see how you could easily get 2 to 3 meals out of a serving from Panda Express.
My favorite part about Panda is going right before they close and while they don't have everything left they will absolutely hook you up with what they do have left. Serving and a half of orange chicken? Have it all.
Thanks for the advice! sounds like a pro-move!
Panda is very good if you are in a hurry or want multiple dishes but, with their prices getting as high as sit-in restaurants, I have not been to one for a while now. Another fun video. TY and keep it up.
You did this perfect. You didn't go in blind like many of your countrymen do. I only went there once on vacation and it was good and I liked it.
Thanks for sharing.
Love watching you
Thank you so much! it means alot.
i love crab rangoon - yours look similar to my favorite chinese shop here in georgia
We have spring rolls But there is a difference between a spring roll and egg rolls here. Spring rolls are more thinner with smooth flakey wrap filled with Cooked vegetables usually no meat and Egg rolls are more thicker in size and the wrap is thicker too, chewy and deep fried and they are filled with cooked vegetables and meat
Thanks for sharing the difference between spring rolls and egg rolls! It's always interesting to learn more about different types of cuisine.
You're supposed to dip the ragoons. in the sweet sour sauce my guy 😅
Newbie error! we have the pro move now for next time! thanks for sharing
I love the orange chicken and the Beijing beef those my favorite also you definitely gotta try tho sweetfire chicken breast next time it’s so good
We didn't know about the sweetfire chicken breast, Next time we will definitely give that a try, thanks for the recommendation
Love Panda Express! My faves are Honey walnut shrimp, mushroom chicken and lo mein. Also love all of the appetizers!❤😊
The shrimp was so good and full of flavor. We did not try the mushroom chicken though, we will have to try it next time we go!🤗
I could just fill up on egg rolls. Dipped in hot spicy sauce. Thanks for the fun video.
Great suggestion! they were delicious! Thanks for watching
I feel like either I’m following you or you’re following me … first we both go to Five Guys and then we both go to Panda Express. Love the Beijing Beef but my second choice is Sweetfire Chicken with a little spice and pineapple. Ooooo … love the pineapple! You should have tried their little apple egg rolls for dessert with the cinnamon and sugar outside. Very tasty ❤ Keep up the good work! You two are a refreshing delight!
Lol! where are we heading to next? Thanks for the suggestion on the sweetfire chicken and we completely missed the dessert egg rolls.. next time on both for sure..
We have the same taste. I ❤ Beijing Beef & Sweet Fire Chicken Breast too. Recently tired Honey Sesame Chicken and it’s delicious. You might want to give it a try as well 😊
Panda Express is good but I always feel sick afterwards. But the Honey walnut shrimp is the best.
Yes, that honey shrimp was good!
Nikola’s laugh is everything.
Thank you!
i think those little cartons unfold into plates. i know the ones that used to come with a wire handle does. lol panda express. they just opened one by me. i'm going to have to go check it out. we've got loads of chinese take out places and even a few authentic sit down places too. i'm chinese and grew up eating the real stuff. my grandfather even owned a take away place in nyc! egg roll tends to have the thicker wrap and are fatter than a spring roll/vegetable roll/shrimp roll which uses a thinner wrap.
We didn't know those boxes turned into plates, that just makes them even coller to us! Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your personal connection to Chinese food. We would love to hear any recommendations you might have for places to visit or dishes to try in the future!

I’ve only had Panda Express once, can’t remember what I ordered but I think it was ok for a fast food Chinese restaurant. Great video 😊
It is definitely fast food, it was tasty and the portions were massive for the price. Thanks for watching! We are glad you enjoyed the video.🤗😀
I like that one meal can be shared and you get full. My favorite is the beef and chicken and veggiesI ask for white rice and skip the noddles and you can get sauce free.
We totally agree! It's great when you can share a meal and feel satisfied. Thanks for watching!
Most Chinese restaurants have cream cheese crab ragoons. It has crab (or artificial crab which is white fish with crab juice from what I heard, tastes like crab). You dig it in the sweet and sour sauce.
Thanks for the suggestion, we will grab the sweet and sour sauce next time
A lot of tasty food at PE. Two of my favorites you didn't try so maybe next time. Check out the Sweet Fire Chicken and Garlic Green Bean Chicken.
Next time! we didn't know there was a sweet fire chicken option. Thanks for the tip!
Wow, yummy
It was surprisingly good? thanks for watching
Anytime I get Chinese food, I only get Sweet and Sour Chicken. LOVE IT!!!
Yes, that's one of our favorites too!
To heck with recommendation's, get what you like, sounds good looks good. Can always ask the workers what's the best in their opinion and give it a shot.
Thanks for the advice. Most of the time we ask the servers and don't research what to order! (on purpose) Although we are now getting some great advice on what to order in the comments.
I love Panda! Very good food! ❤️👏😋
Thanks for watching, Panada Express was very good! what is your favorite dish?
@@thebritstry orange chicken, fried rice and crab ragoons 😋❤️👏
I am partial to the orange chicken and fried rice myself. I mix the rice and chicken together and eat it like that and it improves the rice to have the orange chicken flavor added to it.
That's a great way to enjoy the flavors together! Mixing the rice and chicken sounds delicious.
Not sure if they changed it back. But in the past I got a teriyaki sauce package with the chicken. You have to add the sauce yourself. Years ago they had the sauce with the chicken. But the way yours looked I think the sauce was not on there. Its still a tasty chicken so.
Mustard or duck sauce for the egg roll, and I also like the duck sauce for the rangoon.
Panda Express seems to do a poor job of handing out the Teriyaki sauce packets to customers. Every time I've seen a TH-cam video with someone trying the Teriyaki Chicken, they eat the plain chicken without the sauce.
We didn't know that!! there was no sauce packets given and we thought that was the way. The duck sauce sounds great aswell. Fortunately it did taste okay without sauce. Thanks for the advice and for watching!
We didn't get the sauce either! Thanks for the advice and for watching!
There are a difference between egg rolls and spring rolls. I was first introduced to Filipino egg rolls in the military where we used malt vinegar as a dipping sauce and drinking Dos Equis. That was a long time ago and brings back memories.
We didn't know that! Malt vinegar as a dipping sauce sounds interesting too!. Thanks for sharing
LOVE lumpia! I was lucky to work with a few Filipino ladies who made them fresh and would bring them to work meetings where it was a potluck set up. So good! Haven't had them in more than a decade. I keep hinting that I need a care package because I live 4 hours away now, lol.
i dipped mine in banana ketchup
We need to try lumpia! thanks for the suggestion
We will try that next time!
those boxes were originally used to hold clams and you can unfold them as tiny serving plates.
Wow thanks for the information…we just thought they were cool little boxes, how clever that they double up as plates.
There are spring rolls and egg rolls, it depends on the wrapper, we have both. If the wrapper is smooth it's a spring roll.
Thank you for letting us know!🤗
My favorite Chinese dishes are the broccoli with beef or chicken, pepper steak, lo mein noodles with pork or chicken, sweet n sour chicken, and War Su Gai.
Thanks for the suggestions, we didn't know about a couple of those dishes. we will try them next time.
I go to Panda Express at least once a week. for lunch. I'm glad you liked it. Nicola where did you get the shirt, its awesome!
It was really tasty, and they give you a healthy sized amount. We can see why you would go for lunch. This is our new sweater that we will be filming in, we designed them, we are glad you liked it!🤗
The Sweater is Super Awesome!

Thank you!
Well, great. Now I want Panda Express.
Lol! It always makes me sooo hungry editing these videos.. Thanks for watching..
The grease is the best part. I always get a little extra.
Thanks for watching! it certainly can add extra flavor
Agreed. Panda is just dependable Chinese fast food, without breaking the bank. Everyone seems to love their orange chicken. (Myself included)
We totally agree!🤗
I like Panda Express. I Always add soy sauce & sweet and sour sauce to my rice and noodles helps with the flavor.
Thanks for the suggestion! Adding soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce definitely enhances the flavors.
An egg roll has the thicker wrapper, the spring roll has the super thin wrapper.
Thank you for pointing that out! It's always interesting to learn about the subtle variations between different types of food.
I can never eat enough egg rolls. My favorite Panda Express dish is the mushroom chicken.❤
We didn't have the mushroom chicken, we will give that a try next time. Thanks for sharing
The only thing to get at Panda is the Lo Mein and Orange Chicken and the orange Chicken you wait for them to out in a new batch or forget it.
Thanks for the tip! getting a fresh batch is probably the key...
Try Pei Wei. It's a tiny bit more expensive but better!
Thanks for the recommendation! we have not heard of Pei Wei but will definitely check this place out! Thanks for watching
If ya get the chance, you should definitely stop by Terry Black's BBQ in Austin, Texas. The beef ribs are heavenly and don't let the name burnt ends fool you. It is just the end cut off the brisket.
We really appreciate your recommendation! We are hoping to get to some great BBQ spots soon (possibly Texas!), and Terry Black's sounds like a must-visit.
@thebritstry Terry Blacks is literally the best in the world. Texas monthly 1st or 2nd every year for the past decade. Austin Houston or Dallas. Get everything. It’s ALL worth it. Brisket sausage all. Including the sides :)
Thanks for the suggestions! We have just been to Terry Blacks in Austin Texas! Our Terry Blacks BBQ video will be uploaded this afternoon!
The cheese Rangoon has crab in it in the east coast of us
Interesting! we didn't know that. I will check to see if the one's we had were the same?
Crab Rangoon. Invented in some American Chinese restaurant.
Good to know. Thank you
This is such a cute channel
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I'm guessing you're in the LA area. Try 'Tasty Kitchen' in Gardena for better Chinese/Asian food. Then Chinatown and Monterey Park (These are neighborhoods not restaurants. Enjoy!
Thanks for the tips! We will head there next time we are in the area. Thanks for the advice and for watching!
I just saw a youtube interview with BTS saying that they loved Panda Express so much that they went there 10 times during their US concert tour. It was their favorite US fast food along with In n Out Burgers and Chicago style pizza.😂
Wow! Thanks for sharing, 10 times in a lot .... we need to try the Chicago style pizza in the future, so thank you for the recommendations and for watching!
@@thebritstryok listen this is going to be very critical. For deep dish pizza. You Have To Know! It is not Chicago's pizza. It's what Chicago takes their family from out of town to eat. Personally Lou Malnatis is my favorite. If you want to make Chicago really happy try thin square cut pizza from a bar. Or atleast mention it. I would say the best thing to come from Chicago is Al's #1 Italian Beef. It will blow your mind. Other than french dip, there aren't many wet sandwiches like it. And it TOWERS above the rest. Another good try is Chicago Dogs. It might honestly dispoint or change your life. It comes with tomato, mustard, onion, pickle, relish, and topped with celery salt. If you can't get them all I recommend Al's italian beef for lunch. And later Lou's deep dish for dinner.
Oh nooo. You have visited the vaguely Chinese highly gelatinized food shaped ambiguously pleasant food of Panda Express. This requires a LOT of soy sauce.
I can't wait for your next adventure.
Thanks for watching! let us know if you have any suggestions on where we could try?
@@thebritstry if you're looking at chain experiences then try La Madeleine. It's a country French fast casual that stays pretty consistent. They have the usual suspects with French onion soup, potato soup, tomato basil, Croque Monsieur, salads, bakery items, savory puff pastry, etc.
Another every day chain that I like that no one seems to try is Zoe's Kitchen. It's a healthier Mediterranean chain.
If you get to Austin, TX a place to try would be Not A Damn Chance Burger. Eatery collab from professional skateboarder Neen Williams and a Michelin star chef named Philip Frankland Lee. I haven't been there yet but it sounds absolutely delicious starting with Texas wagyu beef.
Wow! Thanks for the recommendations! we are hopefully heading to Austin soon! we will add the restaurants to the list!
There is a difference between egg rolls & spring rolls. The wrap on egg rolls is thicker & deep fried while the wrap on spring rolls is thinner (almost transparent) & not deep fried.
Thank you for sharing this insight!
Panda Express is the only place I don't know exactly what I'm gonna get before I get there. Its all good.
It is good!
Panda Express is good fast food. It's consistent. It's the Wendy's of Chinese food, or something like that. It's once a week lunch take-out.
It's definitely tasty and filling, we can see why you would get it for lunch.
I love the beijing beef.
It was delicious!😀
The chow mein definitely has that greasy taste to it... but the bits of cabbage delude me into thinking it's still somewhat healthy and I can't help but enjoy it the most out of the whole meal.
We think of you eat the chow mein with the entree it takes away the greasiness! But it was very enjoyable all the same. Also great value!
You guys talk about lack of spices on things but Brits never add their own spices. If it needs something, add it. Condiments and sauces are always available behind the counter.
Thanks for the suggestion, we did ask when we ordered of there was anything else that would go with the dishes.
The Chow Mein at Panda is greasy tasting, but I eat it anyway. Panda is not my favorite go to oriental food, but occasionally I do order it.
Thanks for the suggestion, we would ask them for fresh chow mein next time or stick to rice!
You should try the spring rolls next time. Much better than the egg rolls. Their egg rolls are too dense and greasy. A lot of the locations also make potstickers, or pork pan fried dumplings. They're so good with a soy sauce and ginger dipping sauce.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely give the spring rolls and dumplings a try next time.
Just had Panda express this weekend. My favs are the Beijing Beef, Honey Sesame Chicken & Sweet Fire Chicken Breast with fried rice. Don’t care for lo mein.
Thanks for sharing. We need to try the sweetfire chicken, next time
I like plumb sauce with a egg roll.
That sounds great, we will definitely up our sauce game when we go back.
I am shook & shocked I watched a vid about Brits enjoying American Chinese food and I didn't hear a comment about "Where's the chips & curry sauce" 💀 But where was the General Tso's chicken & who doesn't love cream cheese wontons??
Lol! Great chips & curry sauce reference! Thanks for watching
...in bed.
When reading a fortune cookie, finish with: in bed.
Usually good for a laugh.
lol.. next time we will...
Spring rolls are from China going way back. Egg rolls have a thick wrapper & are deep fried. They also have no parallel in China. Sightly different fillings.
Thank you for sharing these insights about the origin and differences between spring rolls and egg rolls. It's always interesting to learn about the cultural background of different dishes.
As an Asian American I see Panda Express's food as Chinese-ish. It is food that non-Chinese think is Chinese but is actually nothing you would get if you were to go to a restaurant in China. Its like calling something a Mexican taco because it is meat, salsa and vegetables served on an open slice of sandwich bread.
I think that you are mistaken on the Egg roll. There are egg rolls and spring rolls. It is not a case of what Brits call it versus what Americans call it. From what I can see, you are eating an egg roll and not a spring roll. You can google the difference.
We appreciate your input! It's always valuable to hear different perspectives and learn more about different cultures. we will definitely look into the difference between egg rolls and spring rolls. Thanks you for watching
You ordered a Chinese! 🤣🤣🤣

In San Diego, there are a lot better Chinese restaurants in the county but Panda Express is good in a pinch if you are in a hurry.
Panda express was good for fast food! but we are hoping to try more Chinese restaurants in the future. Let us know if you have any recommendations?
The teriyaki chicken doesn’t have sauce on it; they add a packet and you can add as little or as much as you want.
Me? I put the teriyaki sauce on the noodles and not the chicken. It’s great without the sauce, or add some noddles with the sauce to the bite of chicken
We didn't get the extra sauce packet? it was nice without but next time we will check before we leave. Thanks for the advice
Try an Golden Coral next please

Great choices. I won’t pretend that this is high class eating, but if you’re in a hurry it works. Definitely not healthy.
It was tasty! Thanks for watching
Would a couple of Brits like to have their minds blown. Those little cardboard chinese food boxes fold out into plates.
FYI, we do have spring rolls in the US, they are just usually smaller than egg rolls and they have a thinner wrapper that's a lighter color.
Oh thanks for letting us know the difference. 🤗
Some of that food like the egg rolls, rice, chow mein and kung pao chicken is better when you put soy sauce on it.
Thanks for the suggestion. we will try that nexttime.
It's actually like Chipotle but SW is OK
We will check that out! thanks for the info.
the cream cheese rangoons need sweet and sour sauce and i don't mean from the lil tiny packet, i mean a small cup of that orange/red sauce.
Panda Express is "ok" overall. It's just fast-food Americanized Chinese after all. Some of their stuff is tasty though for sure - the beijing beef is certainly good as is the black pepper beef. Their chow mien/noodles can be hit or miss sadly, but when they are fresh and well prepared it's very good and way better imo than the rice. Regardless, the fact Panda Express won't use MSG is disappointing. I feel their food would be just a bit better if they made it with MSG, but you know, that's their choice for their food of course.
Can't wait to see all the channels reacting to the video now either! :)
Yeah! the beef was surprisingly good! and we would definitely stick with the rice next time. We agree if the chow mien was fresh it may have been better! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
if ya knew how much sugar are in those dishes..... and yes I would know since i worked for them for 4 years lol
Wow! we hadn't considered that! Thanks for sharing the information
Beijing beef🔥🔥🔥🔥
Panda was surprisingly good! Thanks for watching..
True Chinese food boxes will unfold into a plate.
We didn't know that! that's a genius idea.
I love authentic Asian food, and when I tried Panda Express I was disappointed. Everything seems toned down, without the fullness of flavor you get in an independent, locally owned Asian restaurant. I suppose it seems all right for those who've never had the real thing.
We understand what you mean…
Pander express lol
There are so many privatley owned chinese resturants in every city. I gotta admit, I have never, and I dont know one person who has ever eaten at panda express before lol. But it seems to be like standard "mall food court chinese food". Good enough but nothing special. Mild enough to fit most palates. Brits might actually prefer americanized chinese food to the legit thing for that reason. Although almost every regular privatley owned chinese restaurant has "Americanized Chinese food" dishes.
Do you have a suggestion of where we could try?
@@thebritstry I dont even know where you are on the west coast. California coastline is like 1500 km long by itself. But on the west coast, you shouldnt be able to throw a stone without hitting a non chain asian restaurant.
Good to know! we will definitely check out more local restaurants.
You didn't put the teriyaki sauce on the chicken
They did not give us any teriyaki sauce…and we didn’t know it was supposed to come with it!
I wouldn't call Panda Express Chinese food infront of any kind of Asian. Some of them get mad beacuse it's American fast food Chinese food. Same thing with telling a Mexican taco bell is Mexican food. Also any fast food atleast in America really depends on how fresh it is and how well the person who cooked it cooked it. Getting a old over cooked batch of something fast food will make a great meal taste like something I wouldn't feed my worst enemy
I appreciate your comment! It's always great to hear different viewpoints on food and culture.
Personally i hate the chow mein but that's mostly because i cant stand celery. 😅 also, fun fact, fortune cookies are actually japanese not chinese. 🤷♂️
Thanks for the fun fact! I love learning new things we didn't know. Thanks for watching
Panda Express is fantastic for what it is. The problem is, my wife doesn’t like it. (Wives are always the problem.)
I think it’s delicious for a reasonable price.
Yeah , it was nice! Maybe you can compromise and have Panda Express as a guilty pleasure when your wife is not around. lol
The teriyaki sauce should have been in the bag. I think you were just eating the chicken grilled.
Lol! we didn't get the sauce for some reason. Fortunately it did taste quite good on it's own. Next time we will check, thanks for the advice
Panda Express is okay in a pinch but y’all are on the west coast so any china town or “mom and pop” place would be so so much better.
We are hoping to start visiting more local “mom and pop” places soon! Please watch this space..
