Scotts Halts Crabgrass Preventer - How Long Does It REALLY Work?

Since I wasn't completely sure about this until I used it myself I figured I would make a video explaining what I've learned.

I dont think so. Get tenacity and apply a couple weeks apart. It eill turn white and die off

Check the packages for amounts of different nutrients. You wouldnt want a double dose of stuff

You mentioned putting down the crabgrass preventer in May next year to last a little longer through the summer season, but isn't the objective to put it down early before it starts or takes root? Seems like a second application in July might be the better solution.

You're probably right and i have switched to liquid fertilizer and tenacity as a weed preventer and treatment. Easier and MUCH cheaper to apply. Putting it down now and every couple months just to be sure yo prevent everything i dont want

Hello. When we moved in we had LOTS of clover and creeping charlie. I used 24d to get rid of most of it. I sprayed it with a backpack sprayer. I also have uaed tenacity (mesotrione) for crabgrass and other weeds. I haven't come up with a routine yet but most of it is weeds are gone so every 3 or 4 months i apply one or the other and spot spray in between.

It’s good for like 3-4 months so usually most people put it down in the fall, spring, and summer.

It seems so. Gott be aware of the fact that if you overseeed while it is still active it won't allow for germination of the new grass seed

Pendamethalyn is weak shit. Try Stonewall by Lesco with Prodiamine as an active ingredient or put the Scotts down every 2 to 3 months
