In the end I did add sight tubes. I ran a tee from the bottom of the tank then up to another tee in the vent. I also added vertical float sensors where those mechanical sensors were installed. So I'll have 3 different tank level gauges; regular fuel gauges in the pilot house, sight gauges in the engine room and sounding sticks as a last resort.

8:28 i know its to late now but couple fittings on side of tanks for a sight tube on fuel level would be simplest.

Yeah, a Beta Marine 85T, the Aquadrive is a B20 which is a little oversized but should last forever!
