      Thank you so much for thinking of us. We really didn’t have anything beyond heavy storms and they were not nearly what they were expecting.

    Thank you for the very useful information which you have given. One thing that I would have a question about is that I have heard, from other advice, that one should never sit under under an underpass during a tornado as the wind gets funneled underneath.

    • @LivingInNashvilleTennessee1

      That’s interesting. I’ve never heard that before. I’m going to have to check into that. I frankly think that’s absolutely wrong, but I will check into it.

      @@LivingInNashvilleTennessee1 The National Weather Service ( www.weather.gov) as well as other sites all say that. Google the question,” Should I sit under an underpass during a tornado ?” and you will get a definite answer from a variety of sites.

      Try googling the question,”Should I sit under an overpass during a tornado?” You will be directed to a number of sites, each of them saying the same thing, “Don’t do it “ This includes the National Weather Service as well as other sites. Each site will tell you why sitting under an overpass during a tornado is the last place you want to be, and why it is so extremely dangerous. Try googling that question and I think that you will see what I am saying.

    OMG Susan! Once again another great video. This is extremely helpful information... and I literally LOL when you said you didn’t like the word “moist”! 😂😂😂This has been something my friends and I have always agreed on. That word just doesn’t feel right. 😂😂😂

    Nashville had an F4 in 98. And in 2020 had an F3. You said an F2 is the worst we had and it’s not. I was also directly hit in both of them

      I don’t doubt you a bit. It’s interesting that you can look it up the same question but get different answers depending on where you look. I’m so glad you were OK. My daughter was in East Nashville during that 2020 tornado ; she was OK, but had many friends with a lot of physical health damage

    Susan your explanation was so helpful to we Californians moving to Nashville. We do brush fires and earthquakes but tornados? Not a clue.

      My daughter is in Colorado now the thought of the wildfires🔥 in Boulder and annually throughout the west really unnerve me. At least with tornados we have some warning and they pass quickly!! Each area has its own natural disasters I suppose and Mother Nature is a force!

    I grew up in Nashville I’m a 90s baby but I moved north. When I was growing up Nashville wasn’t having tornadoes. We didn’t even have snow and the winter. Why have Nashville weather change like that. What’s causes call these tornadoes?

  • @AngelWhisper_7

    The F Scale 8s no longer used. The EF OR ENHANCED FUJITA Scale has been used since 2007. The Greenberg tornado was the first tornado rated with the EF scale. And Mr Fujitas name is pronounced Fu-gee-tah. The wind speeds in the EF Scale are extremely different and much lower than with the F scale. Compare them. It's nuts. Most lately would only be below F3 and not EF4 AND 5S. The EF Scale is more to do with types of damage indicitive of certain wind speeds, than just high wind speeds in the old F Scale.

    Thank you for doing this video, I also come from a tornado prone area; our tornado warning system(sirens) is tested once a month (typically on a Saturday at noon - depends on the county as to which one they pick). Is it similar there also?

    • @LivingInNashvilleTennessee1
      @LivingInNashvilleTennessee1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly Jennifer ours is done that way as well And it is in Davidson WIlliamson Wilson Counties I know for certainty, But I am not 100% positive of each county that has the tornado warning systems. I would hate to say something that isn’t correct! Regarding fleas and tick control, indoor pets those are not necessary but for any pets that is outdoors on a regular basis, absolutely!
      Our monks of an issue is spring and summer time but there’s no point in not just being year-round careful

    We had an EF 3 🌪 in Nashville on March 3rd of 2020 how did that get left out it made national news because of how many people them tornadoes killed that night , also had 2 big one same day in 1998 . Middle Tennessee gets them ever year , she is right about Nashville not getting them a lot and I think it has to do with the rolling hills we have but it’s a possibility

    Does anyone build an underground shelter for these events?

    • @LivingInNashvilleTennessee1
      @LivingInNashvilleTennessee1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian, are you asking does anyone build an underground shelter for tornados/ wind storms? Not that I’ve seen in homes built after the 40’s and maybe 2-3 in my lifetime as a Realto have I ever seen. They were really as “fall out shelters” in case of nuclear war.

      @@brianstory Thank you I’m so glad to hear you’re finding them helpful. In every home I help my customers find the safest place in that particular home should there be bad weather. If there’s no basement end and we rarely have those here end an interior bathroom with no windows is often the best place (in the bathtub or shower as the tile walls offer more protection) if no interior bathroom
      under the staircase that’s even better as that is the strongest most stable part of the house. We’ll find a spot!
