People are excited about Ethan, Yul or Kim, because their wins were impressive or you didn't see them. Nobody cares about Ben, Nick, Adam or Sophie. Who would have cared for Fabio 🙄 or Nathalie White except from super fans who really want to see them play.
If they didnt do a horrible tribe swap into 3 tribes i bet the season goes a lot different. In a season of all winners to throw people into tribes of 5 in a swap is such a bad idea.

Personally, I'd have asked for Chris Daugherty from Vanuatu, simply because his story of overcoming incredible odds with the grandest deceptions and anti-hero dealings all the way to the Final Tribal Council is just INSANE, and despite his age (he'd have been playing this season on his 48th birthday iirc) he'd be a lot of fun to watch again. The same reasoning applies with Mike Holloway from Worlds Apart, and I agree that he would be fun to watch a second time as well.

Tina would've slayed all the new schoolers after i watched her stint on blood vs water (which she COULD'VE been the 2nd 2-time winner), she integrated really well with the new school style of playing. I would say the same for aras too
We need a season of "should haves", people who should have won, but didn't. People who actually played the game, who fans know should have won. People who weren't lazy and did nothing til the end (some twice!), and only won because the opposition made someone mad. Right from season 1, about half the winners had no business winning, so let's give those who did a better shot.
Wild Card Watson Earl was on the casting list for Survivor Game Changers, out of all the winners not in Winners at War, Earl is probably the only one that could be seen again.
So no Hatch, Tina, Tom, Earl, Todd or Mike? Even then, there's a bunch of others who could take spots. Don't get me wrong, this is a solid cast. But Cochran isn't EVERYTHING. There are many others deserving to be out there this season, who I hope we see again.

I'm glad Cochran isn't on season 40... Richard Hatch would have been very interesting, but I wonder if he wasn't invited because of the sexual thing that happened in All Stars, or his jail time? I also would have loved to see Chris Underwood back so he could prove he was deserving.
Also, the world of television is very different in 2020 than in 2000-2004. Richard Hatch walking around naked would not go well with the producers/audience.

Nobody really got bothered by it, except for a few women, and some people even used this to their advantage on a strategic level. Both Dan's behavior, and the response from his fellow contestants to use this behavior as an advantage to their game, was wildly inappropriate, and Dan was removed from the game after another "incident."
I think instead of ben they could have had mike. Cuz they both have the same arc of being the lone wolves but mike actually played the game than ben who just looked for idols.

Chris Daughtry is one of the forgotten great winners. If you rewatch that season (vanuatu), he had the shittiest hand dealt to him. Overcame a power female alliance that was just picking the guys off with ease and he flips that and then runs the whole game (still as the only guy) to the finish and wins. Amazing.
I think Cockrin would've been a wild card. I think he could've made it far. Hes not only a fan but in the season that he won he won 4 challenges and he is a huge strategic threat.

I honestly wished Mike Holloway was here. He was one of my favorites and i would argue that he is THE BEST winner in Survivor's history. He had every quality needed on Worlds Apart, despite everyone being against him.
For real, people say he's nothing without the immunity run, but he decided so many of the votes, and besides Kelly getting idoled out, and besides the Shirin, and Carolyn almost getting blindsided, and final 4 fire, he was always in the majority when it games to votes
Easy for Jeff to say everyone looks the same. Problem is Old school players didn’t “grow up” watching new schoolers and idolizing them, and seeing them become famous. Jealousy of how iconic the old school players have become there was no way one of them were ever going to win. First few episodes it was clear. Rob said it best at the challenge to get back in the game. “Look at us over here, all old school players. We never got our footing.” Not s..t. New schoolers were never going to let that happen. Peace.

If you follow Hatch's TH-cam page, he gets into his version of why he was snubbed. And since then burned any bridge to the ground down of ever returning. According to Richard, he was booked and all set to be prepped for the show and Probst and CBS stiffed him, following last season's scandel. From Rich's perspective, he was too "risky" to have on in this new phony "woke" Survivor that Jeff is pushing.

1:29 - 1:36................because she DIDN'T win All Stars, Rob did. When the All Stars "tribe switch" occurred and Amber was the ONLY person that went to the opposite tribe a few people had to remember that Jenna Lewis and ...???Shii Ann Huang???... said that "Amber should be on this tribe". And then a little later on Kathy Vavrick O'Brien and Shii Ann Huang were talking and saying to each other that if "they (the other tribe) vote out Amber, Boston Rob is going to be upset". That right there sent up a red flag for me. And then Rob telling Lex that he didn't have Lex's back was another one. And then of course Big Tom Buchanon, Rupert Boneham, and Jenna Lewis all had at least one child (and Tom and Rupert each had a wife back home) whereas Amber and Rob were both still single and childless when they got to the final 5. Rob and Amber rode each others coat tails the entire season because Rob came up with that idea way back in the 2nd episode or so. The rest of both tribes didn't eventually figure that out? If the tribe that Amber had gone over to at the "tribe switch" listed above HAD voted Amber out at the 1st tribal council while she was a part of that tribe neither Amber NOR Rob would have made the final 6.
Hatch should have played. Would be interested to see how he plays in the modern era. Jenna would be interesting to see as an adult. Chris D. Would great. Lowkey one of the greatest players ever. Earl is arguably the greatest winner of all time. Todd would be amazing. I would also like to see Fabio play as an adult. Say what you want about his strategy but he understood the social game and how he was perceived. He played it up well.

I'm glad Cochran isn't on season 40... Richard Hatch would have been very interesting, but I wonder if he wasn't invited because of the sexual thing that happened in All Stars, or his jail time? I also would have loved to see Chris Underwood back so he could prove he was deserving.
It's because of what happened in S39 about Dan. That made his(rich) chance of returning very low.
Also, the world of television is very different in 2020 than in 2000-2004. Richard Hatch walking around naked would not go well with the producers/audience.

Nobody really got bothered by it, except for a few women, and some people even used this to their advantage on a strategic level. Both Dan's behavior, and the response from his fellow contestants to use this behavior as an advantage to their game, was wildly inappropriate, and Dan was removed from the game after another "incident."

Chris Daughtry is one of the forgotten great winners. If you rewatch that season (vanuatu), he had the shittiest hand dealt to him. Overcame a power female alliance that was just picking the guys off with ease and he flips that and then runs the whole game (still as the only guy) to the finish and wins. Amazing.
I think Cockrin would've been a wild card. I think he could've made it far. Hes not only a fan but in the season that he won he won 4 challenges and he is a huge strategic threat.

I honestly wished Mike Holloway was here. He was one of my favorites and i would argue that he is THE BEST winner in Survivor's history. He had every quality needed on Worlds Apart, despite everyone being against him.
For real, people say he's nothing without the immunity run, but he decided so many of the votes, and besides Kelly getting idoled out, and besides the Shirin, and Carolyn almost getting blindsided, and final 4 fire, he was always in the majority when it games to votes
Easy for Jeff to say everyone looks the same. Problem is Old school players didn’t “grow up” watching new schoolers and idolizing them, and seeing them become famous. Jealousy of how iconic the old school players have become there was no way one of them were ever going to win. First few episodes it was clear. Rob said it best at the challenge to get back in the game. “Look at us over here, all old school players. We never got our footing.” Not s..t. New schoolers were never going to let that happen. Peace.

If you follow Hatch's TH-cam page, he gets into his version of why he was snubbed. And since then burned any bridge to the ground down of ever returning. According to Richard, he was booked and all set to be prepped for the show and Probst and CBS stiffed him, following last season's scandel. From Rich's perspective, he was too "risky" to have on in this new phony "woke" Survivor that Jeff is pushing.

1:29 - 1:36................because she DIDN'T win All Stars, Rob did. When the All Stars "tribe switch" occurred and Amber was the ONLY person that went to the opposite tribe a few people had to remember that Jenna Lewis and ...???Shii Ann Huang???... said that "Amber should be on this tribe".
And then a little later on Kathy Vavrick O'Brien and Shii Ann Huang were talking and saying to each other that if "they (the other tribe) vote out Amber, Boston Rob is going to be upset". That right there sent up a red flag for me. And then Rob telling Lex that he didn't have Lex's back was another one. And then of course Big Tom Buchanon, Rupert Boneham, and Jenna Lewis all had at least one child (and Tom and Rupert each had a wife back home) whereas Amber and Rob were both still single and childless when they got to the final 5.
Rob and Amber rode each others coat tails the entire season because Rob came up with that idea way back in the 2nd episode or so. The rest of both tribes didn't eventually figure that out? If the tribe that Amber had gone over to at the "tribe switch" listed above HAD voted Amber out at the 1st tribal council while she was a part of that tribe neither Amber NOR Rob would have made the final 6.
Brian heidik and Chris Duagherty would have made it better but I'm still hyped less than a week to go
Hatch should have played. Would be interested to see how he plays in the modern era. Jenna would be interesting to see as an adult. Chris D. Would great. Lowkey one of the greatest players ever. Earl is arguably the greatest winner of all time. Todd would be amazing. I would also like to see Fabio play as an adult. Say what you want about his strategy but he understood the social game and how he was perceived. He played it up well.
