I didn't imagine that the orchestra could enrich and amplify this behemoth of a classic, but here we are. Absolutely magnificent rendition!

I wouldn't mind hearing "No Nation on This Earth" and "Where Greater Men Have Fallen" with an orchestral background added in the mix.

HOLY MOTHER FLIPPING SHIRTBALLS!!!!!!!!! As Rome Burns was a superb song, one of the many highlights on "To The Nameless Dead"... this has elevated it to a whole new level! Primordial -the band - have taken the concept of epic, looked at it, decided it just wasn't good enough, thrown it out of the window and decided to show it how it should be done! After listening to this orchestral version my entire body was basically one goosebump, it is sonic perfection! Nemtheanga's vocals sound even more grandiose than before, more passionate (if that were even possible!) Ciáran MacUiliam, Pól MacAmhlaigh, Micheál Ó Floinn and Simon O'Laoghaire's musicianship on the original version is seamless and as powerful as as a herd of stampeding elephants, yet with the addition of the orchestra, the whole song shifts up onto a whole new as yet unexplored realm, giving the listener an almost spiritual experience. The majesty of the song almost feels like a harbinger of Armageddon while at the same time feeling like a warm, safe shelter during a violent north Atlantic storm. I challenge anyone to find another song that redefines EPIC as much as As Rome Burns (Orchestral Version) does!

I've always been amazed at how Primordial has been able to produce some of the most epic music ever with just 5 guys playing their instruments, but this... I am speechless. Absolutely magnificent.

I always imagined a video to 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘭 being aerial footage over Irish landscape. Starting over the sea, showing only waves, soon transitioning over land and ending with the band on a hill.

Great orchestration by Penev ! It adds more grandeur to an already epic song and i can easily say that i prefer this version to the original one. Irish beautiful, wild landscape is the perfect fit to the song. Maybe before the transition at around 03.37, a guitar solo would be good, i don't know... This may lead to making an album with the orchestral versions of Primordial songs and doing concerts with a symphony orchestra. This version will surely appeal to a wider audience outside metal community. Especially to classical music lovers. Congragulations Primordial, congragulations Penev ! A great achievement ! Best wishes from Istanbul, Turkey

never been a fan of orchestras brought in to revamp metal (e.g. I simply cannot abide Metallica S&M and the like) but this proves me wrong and shows that it can indeed work with massive rewards. Would love to hear the whole TTND album played out like this and also Coffin Ships, just to see if more goosebumps occur than usual.

@@hristopenev5615 I think Primordial would fit there amazingly! first time I heard about the venue and the whole arrangement in Plovdiv was when I saw a clip from Anathema's DVD Universal. Soon after I had the chance to go there and see Devin Townsend, it was the 25 year anniversary of the Ocean Machine album. Later that year I already had tickets for Primordial in Cluj also, and an English guy in Plovdiv told me "ah, Primordial are VERY GOOD live!" :D which was absolutely confirmed at the concert, it was memorable.

how about "I want to burn, give me the funeral pyre / long was life, but my life's waking short / the highest of my father's sacraments / to climb towards heaven on a towering flame / and scream out the injustice by which my nation with fiery iron was beset and slaughtered." :)
Primordial have so many great lyrics, it's absolutely insane and delivered so fantastically by Alan.
I set foot on foreign land
Held my brothers and sisters to me

4:00 I am assuming this is an ancient building... How? seriously how did they put that giant stone piece on top of the other ones. I heard a theory about the ancients knowing some kind of something related to sound that could make things levitate. My own theory is that the atmosphere was a lot thicker back then which allowed them to easily manipulate this crazy amounts of weight, same thing with dinosaurs, the gigantic beast were able to move around and even fly cuz of this, or maybe gravity was weaker back then. Anyways sick music, coupled with the images made some strange feeling be born inside me, it felt like some kind of longing, almost like a dead memory tat i just couldn't quite reach.

They just got the lands 'round to lift it up with leverage, or built a mound of dirt around the pillars, dragged the cap stone on top, then dug the dirt away.
It really shows how fallen we are, how degenerated we've become, that we must invent absurd theories to explain the achievements of greater men.
