@@dmf30 After playing with the Flash (not Prism Flash) for 3 days straight, I tried the Halo Control 16MM XL today (both were demos). For spin specifically there is no difference. I can get the same amount of spin with this one. But this one is miles better on pop. It gives me all the control of the Flash and just the right pop that was missing from the Flash
Thanks for the review. Great video quality. Like the new fencing. :) It's difficult to believe a Selkirk is the BEST paddle out of all the ones out there for around $140 when you are sponsored by Selkirk.
Bought the SLK Halo XL13mm and enjoying the longer handle length and higher sweet spot. Plan to add lead tape based on your reviews as I've noticed some stability issues that I couldn't quite figure out. Thanks for the great reviews!
I’ve had the XL Control for about 6 months, but I don’t use it often. Might just be me, but I just don’t like the feel to it and went back to my old Head Radical Tour. Just ordered a Head Radical Tour Raw and super excited to try it out.
@@BrionesPickleball wanted to come back and give an update on adding the lead tape. Absolutely a game changer,I added to the middle and lower corners of paddle and I think I’m in love. Thank you for the tip 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I believe the 6.0 Double Black Diamond , the Vatic7 Pro, the Ronbus R1 or R3, and the Legacy pro, are a lot better paddles Nice video, I know you are now sponsored by Selkirk. Keep up your nice work on your videos.
Thanks, but all those paddles feel and are way different than the Halo, so I’d say your comparing different classes of paddles. We’ll be doing other non-Selkirk reviews soon.
Thought Caden was using the slk in tournament? . You said he switched to power air? Also, is the MAX still OK for two hand backhand? You said you get used to it
Sooooo, you say the Max is your current paddle, yet i) I haven't seen you play with it on any videos, and ii) there wasn't any lead tape on the Max, you even taped the XL, what can I believe?
Yes, it is the paddle that I use all the time. Obviously, I’m testing different paddles as well, some that I like more than others. Not sure what your question above is. Lead tape makes 99% of paddles feel more solid.
@@BrionesPickleball Thanks for the quick reply, I used your link today to buy an XL and a Max! On your video you guys had the XL taped, but when you held up the Max there was no tape. Where do you tape the max and do you use 1/2" or 1/4" tape, thanks
I use lead tape on all paddles. It may not look like it at times because I put electrical tape over the lead tape. Caden just keeps the lead tape exposed, which I don’t do. I would suggest quarter inch, starting from the top of the handle, going up 5 inches or so. You’ll have to figure out what’s too much and not enough. Start with minimal weight first.
This is my current paddle of choice! What are your thoughts?
how would this compare to the VATIC Prism Flash 14mm? Am an intermediate wanting spin.

@@slacker23666 thx. Unfortunately i am stuck with the prosm flash I have enough power so i should be ok
@@slacker23666the prism flash might have the least power I’ve ever used. Halo way better
@@bellazoe1 I am currently using a Diadem Speed Pro 14mm paddle and it has slightly more pop and power than the Halo

Lead will definitely help out. Add it on the bottom of the paddle first and go from there
Love you guys branching out into paddle reviews (and the discounts and give aways!) 🎉
Thanks! Yay!!
I added 3/8 inch to the handle length of the Max 16mm. I've tried over 15 paddles and I definitely play better with this paddle than any other.
Awesome!!

Thanks. Everyone is different. I haven’t heard that many great things about the new head. Let us know how it plays!
Truly enjoying your new site and partner. TY.
Thanks !! 😊
Always enjoy your vids & info!

i'm liking the look of the max paddles. which max offer the best spin potential the power of control max?
Power !
@@BrionesPickleball so the max power offer more spin potential than the max control?? also, which offers a larger sweetspot between the 2 max's??
About the same, but the 16 is always a bit bigger
Thanks for the review guys! Which lead tape do you guys use? How long did you add?
I add about 4 inches to the bottom. Quarter inch lead tape 1 gram per square inch. Check Amazon.
@@BrionesPickleball thanks
Halo max comes in today. Appreciate your review, helped make my decision

Robus makes the same CF paddle for $100 way better deal than the Halo
Are there any demo, try before you buy stores out there?
Great video i think im gonna get one soon the control version and XL for long handle plus im more of a control player lol
👍🏻👍🏻
I’m a gearbox guy but I’m going to try this puppy

Yes, I have a two handed backhand and use the max. Caden recently switched to the Power Air
Great video! Briones if you dont mind me asking, which camera do you use for your recording?
Sony ZV1
@@BrionesPickleball Thank you, this is the very camera I have been looking for but not sure how it does in sport. Seems to do just fine!
Been looking at these for a bit, thanks! Saw a guy playing with one last night and it seemed to have a lot of pop. I think it was the 16mm XL.
Cool!
Guess what: you can choke up on the handle to get better feel when you’re up @ at the net.
True, then you will lose reach and leverage

Ronbus KILLS this paddle for 40.00 cheaper.
I didn’t know paddles were that violent
@@BrionesPickleball can be. Depends on where they grew up.
Which Ronbus model?
He’s sponsored by Selkirk so he’s trying to sell their paddles. Can’t trust that opinion. Vatic Pro and Ronbus are the clear leaders.
