Awesome review and content! Love the thoroughness, providing both objective and subjective perspectives! As a budding beginner, the paddle brands and model options out there can be overwhelming, and this video provided me so much education and information! Best educational video I’ve seen on TH-cam, for any product. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I demo’d all the popular paddles (joola cfs 16, Selkirk vanguard power air invicta & epic shapes, crbn 1 and the slk halo max & xl) and ultimately picked the slk halo max 16mm. It’s a really nice paddle especially for the price. Very plush feeling with good control and also enough power for the type of play I do. Highly recommend it!
love this format. I like how you have the lower end paddles shown. Not everyone needs a Power air.....I love seeing little old ladies/men using them and never hitting anything hard.
There appears to be a frenzy for the Power Air series amongst 3.5-4.0 players which I find odd since the game is won and lost at the net where control is more important that flat out power and spin. Many paddles give you a balance of power and control for under $199.
Love, love, love that went to into such great depth on the warranty length of each of these lines and how Selkirk sends the paddle with a return label. People don’t understand how important this is until their handle breaks off on a 7 month old J paddle.
Thank you for your time and posting. Yes, I do like this, makes buying easier for the company I like and want to buy from. Four years after buying an Amped Invikta, it got paddle raddle. Sent a video to Selkirk, got a brand-new one a week later. Thank you very much Selkirk.
The only Selkirk most people should buy is an SLK Halo. That paddle is very popular and I know lots of people who temporarily "upgraded" to a power air before going back to the Halo.
Halo is way under appreciated. Everyone seems to hand bought into the hype of the Power Air series even though the sweet spot is brutal. It's not a paddle for anyone under 4.0.
I bowled at a collegiate level and went through about 6 balls per year with 4 active at any one time. My college roommate was a collegiate top 25 ranked squash player. Good players don't care about 'lifetime warranties' as equipment will be replaced at least a couple of times a year. My wife always had 4 tennis racquets strung and ready and would replace 1 or 2 per year when she played tournaments. So not sure what a lifetime warranty would really offer a good player. Willing to spend over $200 seems like you are a good player. Now for me, getting started in pickleball with some racquetball and squash experience I don't care about a warranty. I don't want to spend much so a $40 SLK will suffice, so really lifetime warranty? No, I'd rather get one that fits my needs in weight, balance, handle length, face texture and not worry about a warranty, even at my beginner level. BTW thanks for the video. We all get to watch it for free with no obligation and you really don't have to do it, so I much appreciate it as you have experience on what you liked and pass it on to us.
Love your videos, Can make a review video on newer versions of thermoformed paddles, supposedly after addressing delam issues like the Vatic pro flash & V7, Legacy Pro, CRBN and Diamond?
I had a very different experience with Selkirk's warranty service. I had the handle delaminate on an Omni Amped paddle about a year old. I sent it back and they told me that "in their experience" handles only delaminate if you hit the ground (which I told them hadn't outside of the normal incidental grazes), and the best I could get out of them was a $35 discount on a replacement paddle. I've since switched to an Omni Vanguard 2 paddle that after about a year, the handle on it also delaminated. I wasn't about to send it in and have then deny a warranty claim, so I just hot-melt glued it back together (it's now about 1/2 oz heavier, but still going strong). Maybe I should have complained more?
The revamped 001 is exactly what you said. It does have better spin and is a decently balanced paddle, but, for a balanced paddle you’re better off with an Amped. If you’re spending the amount in a Labs go for the 003 (my paddle of choice).
I’m new to the game. I don’t see the Selkirk Prime Max model on their site. I only see it as a set of two at Costco. What’s your thoughts and how it compares to other SLK models?
Great informative vid! Curious on your thoughts to Onix’s new Malice Open Throat Composite paddles that they just dropped? Looks like they are finally starting to incorporate some newer tech 👀
thanks for explaining the jargon. they could easily just call thigns by their standard name "elongated, standard, etc" but then when you go to their website their description is just total nonsense and jargon spat out by chatgpt lmao. "aerodynamic throat dura-edge blah blah" (we cut a hole in the paddle).
Great Video. You have me sold on the SLK Halo XL and will use your code- but now which one 16mm or 13mm? I am a 3.5 tennis playing and just coming over to pickleball. I wouldn't call me a Power hitter nor a touch plaayer- so just in between power and touch Help?
How long does the texture on the surface of a paddle last? This does not seem to be a metric that is addressed. Nice that Selkirk provides a lifetime warranty on some. paddles, but so what if the texture wears off in a few months.
Question: with people apparently wanting more powerful paddles, are manufacturers looking to going back to nomex cores? I feel carbon fiber over nomex could be interesting. I think Diadem has dabbled with a hybrid core including nomex, but has anyone attempted 100% nomex core with carbon fiber face?
Engage just came out with the new version of there pursuit 6.0 series called the Pursuit 6.0 Ultra. I know you guys are swamped with paddle reviews and are doing a fantastic job on behalf of the consumer. Due to the popularity of the original Pursuit 6.0 series I’m hoping you can review the Ultra and inform us of your thoughts. Especially since the Ultra is listed at 259.00 bucks! Thanks again for all you do!
Hey Chris! Thanks for the great vid. I purchased the 003 and submitted feedback but have not received the $77 dollar discount code. Do you know if it takes sometime to receive it? Or what do I need to do to get that code. Thanks!
I disagree about the Power Air it doesn't have great power. I judge power from serving because this is the time where you have most control plus you have to usually generate all the power. In my opinion it's highly lacking in this area. I've been told I need to put led tape on it, so I'll try that and see what happens.
I didn't realize my labs gift cards were only usable on the labs site. Sheesh... I was gonna get the nice selkirk bag with that money. Maybe I can call customer service and swindle them into letting me bend the rules 😅
Let’s be honest. The halo is over priced. Why not get the rombus. Shit for 90 you can get the xspak. I dont see why so many gravitate towards the name brand. At least the power airs are unique but if you want to spend the money get a legacy, vatic, or sixzero. I
I use a tefal 8 inch fry pan with white teflon coating. The spin and control are incredibly. Manufacturers paddle wars will ruin the sport. You shouldn't have to spend $200 to ht a wiffle ball.
Yeah that's way too complicated Selkirk's product line is a jumbled mess and some of those paddles I've never even seen anyone play with them in pro or rec.
What a scam promo. You get a discount on future purchases, therefore manipulating people into spending more money on their products. That’s borderline insulting to people’s intelligence and doesn’t sit well. Think I’d rather go with a different brand just on that alone.
Looking forward to the Adidas lineup guide 😏
That one will probably be a “shorts” video 😂
Rafa Hewitt will be watching that one intently.

Good to know... but damn! Halo is sooooo ugly!

Mine 3 and half months 😭
@@ImereneManto at least that’s still within their 6 month warranty period. 6 months and 1 day and you have a paper weight.
Awesome review for those interested in the Selkirk lineup. Love this idea to help potential buyers wade through all the hype and confusion.
this series is going to be goated
Got the max felt good from the start .I highly recommend.
The OMEGA MAX?
Best paddle review out there. been looking for this TKs.
Do a video solely related to paddle shapes and thicknesses and handle lengths etc
Thank you for your time and posting. Yes, I do like this, makes buying easier for the company I like and want to buy from. Four years after buying an Amped Invikta, it got paddle raddle. Sent a video to Selkirk, got a brand-new one a week later. Thank you very much Selkirk.
Thanks for tackling the intricacies of the Selkirk lineup - not an easy task! I'm constantly conflating their shapes, models, and lines
Great idea to breakdown the full company lineup!
The only Selkirk most people should buy is an SLK Halo. That paddle is very popular and I know lots of people who temporarily "upgraded" to a power air before going back to the Halo.

I feel like there are a lot of great paddles out there now and most people should find one that they like and stick with it.
I love this. In a overly saturated paddle market, it's hard to narrow down which brand will work for me and what they have to offer.
Selkirk has amazing quality control and the best warranty in the business i have found
@@Aaron-mn2ro Yes they do but they also need to put out more carbon face paddles. This is the only reason I switched paddles.
please do this more for all paddles
#1 PB content producer. 🏆
Love it Chris. Very helpful when reviewing brands and paddles.
Love your videos, Can make a review video on newer versions of thermoformed paddles, supposedly after addressing delam issues like the Vatic pro flash & V7, Legacy Pro, CRBN and Diamond?
Good idea since most of those manufacturers only have 1-2 models.
Love this idea. Hopefully, new Paddletek comes out soon.
great video! recaps were super helpful bc this badboy was packed! especially having more than one. well done good sir
Selkirk Sport - *Assembled* in the USA, but parts are probably sourced elsewhere. That said, LUXX Control Air is the GOAT! 🐐 🐐 🐐

You should definitely do crbn, joola, and gearbox!!!
Great idea and video on comparing paddles from one company. Please make more videos like this.
Awesome video can't wait to share it!
Great & specific review. I would love it if you're able to do a total review on the Pro Kennex brand. Thank you.
I know you played with the 003 for a while and at one point said it was your paddle of choice. Which paddle are you in favor of now?
Six Zero Double Black Diamond
Is six zero dbd for the girls also? Thanks
I love the control of Vanguard invikta. Can i buy the new one of Vanguard invikta "power air"? Any difference? Tks
Great video, Chris!
I like playing an elongated paddle. Could you do a review on the best elongated paddle? Thanks👍
looking forward to the new testing PPA will be doing since Johns and Joola want it now to coincide with their new paddle release
Would like to see Engage’s lineup as they have the Omega line as well. 👍🏼
Still no thermoformed paddles?
Thanks! Very helpful.
Very helpful!
Love this type of video
Please do a overall price range worth it or not. Like paddles worth it in the $100price range $200,$300 etc
Great video. Definitely a great idea
So paddle are you using currently?
This was such a helpful video! Is there any way you can try and review the Vulcan paddles? I never see any reviews for the company
I’m new to the game. I don’t see the Selkirk Prime Max model on their site. I only see it as a set of two at Costco. What’s your thoughts and how it compares to other SLK models?

engage cant even sniff selkirks jock bro
Great informative vid! Curious on your thoughts to Onix’s new Malice Open Throat Composite paddles that they just dropped? Looks like they are finally starting to incorporate some newer tech 👀
Good video. Would be interested in an Onix version. Malice and Mayhem look interesting and of course everyone’s favorite Z-series. 😂
What's your opinion on the Pikninja cf paddle? I didn't find a review on your channel. Thanks.

Prokennex line please!
Can you do a video on carbon erasers? Or care for raw carbon fiber paddles? Or is there one already?
How long does the texture on the surface of a paddle last? This does not seem to be a metric that is addressed. Nice that Selkirk provides a lifetime warranty on some. paddles, but so what if the texture wears off in a few months.
Would the Selkirk S2 Shape be most like the SLK Max Shape????

I think Diadem has dabbled with a hybrid core including nomex, but has anyone attempted 100% nomex core with carbon fiber face?
CHEETAH uses "ARAMID" aks NOMEX with a 3K carbon face. I have one. I play it a lot.
Thoughts on the Omega XL?
This is my question: what is the air Jordans of pickleball paddles?

I've had the Selkirk Vanguard Power Air - Invikta for 41 days, the wear and performance decline is very noticeable. $250 paddles are not justified.
It didn't look like Tyson was playing with the Power Air in the last ppa event.
It wasn’t. I filmed this video about two weeks ago.
I didn't realize my labs gift cards were only usable on the labs site. Sheesh... I was gonna get the nice selkirk bag with that money. Maybe I can call customer service and swindle them into letting me bend the rules 😅
So, pay extra to be a beta tester with the Labs branch?
Why?
Selkirk why is it named after Scottish town?.
Thanks, but dammit I wish I watched this two hours ago because I literally just ordered a Selkirk paddle
I want a comprehensive, exhaustive analysis of monarch paddles

None of the above, just get a Ronbus, Legacy, Vatic, etc that has the latest innovations at a great price
